Virtual Arts, Sports & Activities Handbook 2020-21
MISSION: The mission of AISC’s Arts, Sports and Activities (ASA) Program is to promote creativity, confidence, and positive relationships through an array of learning experiences.
DESCRIPTION The Arts, Sports and Activities (ASA) program offerings cater to students’ interests and provide families with the opportunity to choose from a menu of activities to participate in outside of school hours. Throughout the year, the ASA program adjusts offerings and instruction by allowing students to re-register in quarterly seasons. New ASAs are added every season! At the end of each ASA season, parents and community members are invited to attend the ASA Showcase. The ASA Showcase is an opportunity for students to display their learning and development from the program to their parents and the AISC community. By prioritizing student interest, family involvement, and student wellbeing, the ASA program strives to promote creativity, confidence, and positive relationships through an array of learning experiences.

REGISTRATION ●
Pre-Registration for ASA programs opens 10 days before the start of the ASA programs. • Online registration forms will be posted on the Athletics & Activities Blog.
●
Online registration does not guarantee enrollment in the ASA program.
●
If you register for an ASA program that is at full capacity, you will be added to the Waitlist
●
After registration is finalized, you will receive a confirmation email with further information about the ASA program and a confirmation of enrollment.
●
Changes, additions, and cancellations can be made up until the start of the third ASA lesson.
SHOWCASES ●
ASA Showcase will occur during the final week of the ASA programs.
●
ASA Showcases are designed for students to exhibit their learning and growth, parents to observe and interact with their children, and for the instructors to recognize students for their achievements and strengths.
●
Parents are encouraged to attend showcases and can find information about them in the Athletics & Activities Blog.
VIRTUAL ASA PROTOCOLS ●
All classes will be held in Zoom, and they will be recorded to the cloud by default. This is to comply with a recent Tamil Nadu government regulation aimed at child safety.
●
If a student is going to be absent from an ASA, please contact the ASA Dept. and the instructor prior to the absence.
●
Families or students may be contacted if a student is consistently absent throughout the ASA season.
●
If a parent or student would like to opt-out of having their image on AISC media pages, please contact the Athletics & Activities or Communications department.
