Looking back on where AI Expo Africa was last year at this time, Nick and I were struck by the fact that our initial vision -- of building Africa’s largest AI and Data Science Community and then bringing all these talented people together in one venue to share their capabilities, products, services -- was an unknown proposition.

Africa had never had an event like this, Africa had many talented people working in this field - but, could we find them and draw them together and then get the business-community to come and find out how AI would impact their operations.

As it turns out, our vision was shared by many across the continent, and our inaugural event last year was a phenomenal success, thanks to this community buying into our grand vision.

And now, as our Community has grown rapidly since those early heady days to almost 3000, and we look back at the fact that we had 275 companies represented at AI Expo 2018, as delegates, sponsors and exhibitors (mainly C-Suite Executives looking to begin using AI in their operations), our vision is being realised.

According to a study from IDC, spending on public cloud services in South Africa will nearly triple over the next five years, and the adoption of cloud services will generate nearly 112,000 net-new jobs in South Africa by the end of

2022. The increased utilization of public cloud services and the additional investments into private and hybrid cloud solutions will enable organizations in South Africa to focus on innovation and building digital businesses at scale.

Nedbank, a leading African bank that services a diverse client base in South Africa and the rest of Africa, is pursuing a transformation strategy with the Azure cloud platform to enable its digital aspirations. Microsoft has had a long relationship with Nedbank which has culminated in enabling its migration to the cloud to help increase its competitiveness, agility, and customer focus. Azure also provides compliance technologies that assist Nedbank to increase data privacy and security which are primary concerns of its customers, regulators, and investors.

Nedbank has adopted a hybrid and multi-vendor cloud strategy in which Microsoft is an integral partner.

The Peace Parks Foundation, in collaboration with Cloudlogic, uses Azure to rapidly deploy infrastructure and solutions in far-flung protected spaces as well as to compute a considerable volume of data around at-risk species and wildlife in multiple conservation areas spanning thousands of kilometers. In efforts to sustain the delicate ecosystem and keystone species, such as the black and white rhinoceros, Peace Parks Foundation processes up to tens of thousands of images captured monthly on wildlife cameras in remote areas to monitor possible poaching activity. In the future, Peace Parks will leverage the new cloud infrastructure for radio over Internet protocol, a high-tech solution to a low-tech problem, to improve radio communication over remote and isolated areas.

JONATHAN WALKER, the owner of a tech company in Johannesburg had his phone and laptop stolen. Essentially, his entire means to run his business was taken from him. But of course he was insured, so though an inconvenience, the theft was not the end of the world.

Until it took his insurance company two months to replace these stolen items.

The to-ing and fro-ing between himself and the insurance company, the ridiculous requirements to find the proof of purchase of items purchased years before, and the endless delays with delivering the replacement items were just the tip of the frustration iceberg for him. His story is not unusual.

Many South Africans have been through some version of this with an insurance company.

So, 41-year-old Walker came up with a plan to develop world-class technology that would tackle every pain point he experienced in his insurance – especially claims – journey and he would deliver it through a smart, intuitive and functional platform. The result… Granadilla, instant app-based insurance that adapts to a customer’s lifestyle.

Digital technologies have been disrupting industries across the spectrum, from Airbnb in hospitality, to Uber in transport – so why should insurance be any different?

A number of insurance start-ups, many of them tech-led, have entered the South African insurance market in 2018, shaking up an industry that is notoriously frustrating for consumers.

A popular metric for measuring a brand’s performance is the Net Promoter Score (NPS), which gauges the likelihood that customers will recommend a brand to their family and friends (promoters) compared to customers who would actively discourage a relationship with the brand (detractors).

The latest South African Customer Satisfaction Index (SAcsi) for Short Term Insurance Companies (2017) puts the shortterm industry average NPS at 29.9%.

For many this signals an industry that is out of touch with its customers and ripe for disruption.

The irony is that we are using technology to do this.”

Kenyan Innovator Invents Gloves that Turn Sign Language into Speech A 25-year-old Kenyan innovator has earned global recognition with his invention of a smart hand gloves which are capable of converting sign language movements into audio speech.

ROY ALLELA, a technology evangelist, says the need to communicate with his 6-year-old niece, who was born deaf, inspired him to build the technology.

Allela is among 16 young Africans who have been shortlisted by The Royal Academy of Engineering Africa Prize for inventors from six countries to receive funding, training and mentoring for projects intended to revolutionize sectors from agriculture and science to women’s health.

The winner will be awarded Sh3.2 million (£25,000) while each of the three runners up will receive Sh1.2 million (£10,000).

According to Allela, his niece encountered difficulties while communicating with members of her family since none of them is conversant with sign language.

The smart gloves - dubbed Sign-IO - have flex sensors that

are placed on each finger and have the capacity to quantify the bend of a finger and process the letter being signed.

Using Bluetooth, the gloves are connected to a mobile application, that Allela also developed, which then converts the sign into audio speech. ai

Let’s say you are looking to buy a wedding gown and you are standing in front of two stores, both selling quality gowns. The first one is a simple store with gowns hanging on rails. The prices are cheap, so you could go in, choose a dress, and pay for it and leave, job done. The second store is much more expensive than the first, but it is beautifully decorated, there are uniformed sales assistants ushering you around and pampering you with champagne and delicacies, music is playing, there’s free WiFi, and best of all, they know you by name and even know your personal preferences.

determined by experiences. Pine and Gilmore make the case that in today’s economy, consumer buying decisions are greatly influenced by the quality of the experience they receive from the brand, and not just by the brand’s product or service.

The Experience Economy was birthed out of the increased desire of digitally native Millennials, who now form the largest purchasing group, to spend their money on experiences they can share on social media platforms rather than products and services. This has even led to the FOMO (fear of missing out) phenomenon taking off, spawning new job types such as influencers who command cult-like followings and are able to incite action by merely lending their support to brands.

One of the biggest challenges brands have had is differentiation and uniqueness in their value proposition.

Traditionally, businesses primarily derived economic value from extracting commodities that were basically undifferentiated and could easily be copied. Thereafter, the focus shifted to developing products, which initially provided some form of competitive position, but with the advent of technology, was not sustainable as a differentiator in the long term.

Other health or environmental emergencies such as major accidents, earthquakes, and floods can also be detected through analysis of mobile phone and internet data, which potentially saves lives of citizens.

E-Commerce The global big data analytics in retail market was valued at $2.85 billion in 2017, and is projected to reach a value of $9.01 billion by the end of 2023. For businesses to survive in the digital age, they need to determine consumer preferences and future demand, based on past demand trends, in order to target their advertisements and products.

According to the World Economic Forum, more than 70% of Africans are under age 30, with those aged 16-34 accounting for 65% of the entire continent’s billion-dollar consumer spending. NEW RESEARCH shows the state of AI within businesses across the UAE is expected to improve dramatically over the next three years, particularly as a growing number of executives look to AI to drive their digital agendas.

Already, 18% of businesses in the country consider AI their most important digital priority. This is according to the AI Maturity Report in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) Click here – a new study commissioned by Microsoft and conducted by EY. Much of the UAE’s progress in elevating the AI agenda is a direct result of leaders across the country recognising that the technology is quickly becoming a key differentiator across all sectors and actively pursuing their AI agendas accordingly.

In fact, 94% of companies in the UAE report involvement in AI at executive management level – the highest percentage of any surveyed country in MEA. “When we examine companies with high AI maturity, it’s clear that the technology is driven directly by the CEOs themselves. This high level of involvement typically results in greater investment in AI, broader adopti on and a greater

A top regional investor It’s not surprising that the UAE is the second highest regional investor in AI over the past ten years, investing $2.15 billion in total. The bulk of this investment went towards social media and Internet of Things (IoT) transactions. This was followed by notable spend across a further eight technologies, including smart mobile, gamification, and machine learning.

Leadership capability in the UAE is also rated high when compared with other countries in MEA. While 64% of respondents believe they have moderate, little or no AI leadership competency, 24% of executives in the UAE rated themselves as highly competent, with another 46 percent indicating they are either competent or very competent.

Most companies still consider themselves to be in the planned phase of AI maturity, meaning AI has not yet been put to active use. On the opposite end of the spectrum, just 8% of businesses perceive themselves as advanced in their application of AI.

$108 BILLION - That’s how much the global point-of-sales (POS) terminals market is expected to be worth by 2025, according to the latest research. But despite being a crucial cog in the retail machine and the market experiencing rapid growth amid rising demand, advancements in POS technology have been few and far between over the past 30 years.

Seeking to provide homegrown solutions to African problems, South African tech firm A2D24 looked to bring lagging traditional retailers up to speed with their online counterparts by harnessing the power of machine learning and artificial intelligence to produce an integrated POS platform. It has since seen retailers in South Africa and Botswana realise a revenue boost of up to 15%, as well as significant decreases in operational costs.

Designed and developed over just four months, the award-winning Marc1, the world’s first Internet of Things (IoT) POS platform, is a truly epoch-making product.

Recently I had the opportunity to present at Steward Bank in Harare, Zimbabwe about Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Deep Learning.

THE DEVELOPED world is awash with examples where these new technologies have been successfully implemented but I was presenting to an analytics team based in Zimbabwe, so the expected comment from the team was: “...but we are in Zimbabwe...” bringing me to the realizaton that contextualizing the hype around these new technologies is fundamental to their implementation on our continent.

Uses of A.I. in developing countries There are some problems which are more prevalent in developing countries than the first world. This means there is a lot of catching up we have to do. Technologies like A.I. can help us leapfrog some of those steps in important industries/ sectors if we are to develop Africa. Before I get into what we stand to gain, I do concede the fact that these technologies are disruptive for jobs many of us are employed in. For example, in the Philippines, call centers employ 1.2m people and account for about 8% of national income. A.I. technologies are advancing at such a pace that soon we will be interacting with automated agents instead of warm bodies when we call help centers (cue Google Duplex). What our governments need to weigh is whether these disruptions are worth the positives we will get in return.

Use case 1: Education One major problem African countries face is the lack of experienced teachers. This is huge issue even in well-resourced countries like South Africa. Tools are being developed that help teachers track how users interact with the content, be it videos, practice questions etc, and the software automatically creates a learning plan for the student. These A.I. tools personalise education - they create learning paths which are tailored to each child’s strengths and weaknesses. If a child struggles with 2 + 2, maybe it is because they have not understood 1 + 1 yet and these tools are able to pick this up and direct the child to the start with the right sections. One might think this requires some fancy technologies only the first world countries can afford but it turns out, all these very cheap Android phones coming out of China into Africa are very much capable of being educational tools when apps are coupled with the right A.I. algorithms.

Some places in Africa are still too remote and students have to walk many kilometers to get to school. The South African government gave an ultimatum to service providers Vodacom, MTN and Cell C that each network’s services has to cover the whole country by 2020, either by improving their services or opening their networks to MVNOs. It is not difficult to see how a combination of improving mobile network services (and hopefully cheaper data plans) and increased influx of cheap and capable/powerful smartphones will make it possible to build the right apps with A.I. backed capabilities that will help us deliver the best education even in the remotest parts of Africa. Even without network connectivity, Google’s Tensorflow Lite, is being developed to allow for “on mobile device machine learning” without the need to connect to the cloud. Very useful capability for remote areas, don’t you agree?

Use case 2: Healthcare The remoteness of some African villages presents some very complex healthcare challenges. It is sometimes difficult to deliver drugs to areas where they are needed the most. This is where A.I. backed technologies can be useful. In Rwanda, a startup called Zipline is delivering medical supplies using drones and they claim they have reduced waste of donated blood by 95%! Some A.I. algorithms predict the spread of outbreaks such as Ebola, giving healthcare practitioners ways to prepare counter measures. Other tools are allowing nurses

and lesser-trained medical practitioners to diagnose patients in remote areas through the use of A.I. backed mobile apps.

One example is Retina.AI by Nigerian doctor Dr. Stephen Odaibo. It is a mobile app being developed with the aim of “using artificial intelligence to improve retina care.” All these A.I. backed medical tools allow us to diagnose medical conditions at a fraction of the cost, which is definitely beneficial to emerging markets. There is a promising algorithm being used to diagnose Malaria, one of Africa’s deadliest diseases, at low cost and higher accuracy than standard methods. Although not developed on the continent, Ginger.io is a mobile app that aims to provide 24/7 care to people with depression, stress, and anxiety. “Built using state-of-the-art predictive models developed by MIT scientists and engineers, Ginger.io uses a combination of smartphone technology and data analytics to deliver personalized and affordable healthcare.” Won’t Africa and emerging markets benefit from these A.I. backed technologies, considering the challenges we face which make healthcare delivery expensive if not impossible?

Use case 3: Agriculture Many African countries are dependent on agriculture; Zimbabwe, where I did the presentation, was once called the “bread basket of Africa”. But this activity is dependent on many factors including access to capital, right climate, population dynamics, labour, and changes in soil

composition. There are A.I. systems being developed to maximise each of these resources. Predictive models have been developed to assess the impact of environmental factors on the yield of different crops, thereby allowing the farmer to plant just the right type of crop to maximise his or her return. Startups are making use of drones and computer vision to keep track of how crops are growing by taking pictures and analysing the size of the leaves, and heights of the crops so as to deploy remedial resources in sections where crops are failing, again maximising yield.

A company called Blue River has developed a system that employs computer vision where, if their “See and Spray” robot sees weeds, it automatically sprays herbicides. This robot can work 24/7 with no need for human intervention, allowing the farmer to shift his labour resources from tilling the land to other more productive aspects of farming. In due time, I will write a post about a startup I am researching which employs some machine learning in agriculture for anyone to implement (stay tuned!). With Africa’s dependence on agriculture, I have no doubt these A.I. backed technologies will definitely benefit our economies.

Conclusion For this post not to be a long read, I will write about other industries in upcoming posts, for example making use of A.I. backed solutions to bank the millions of unbanked Africans.

One very important point though is, if there is this much to gain from seriously looking at these technologies, what are our governments doing? The UAE created the world’s first post for the Minister of Artificial Intelligence. President Putin declared that whoever controls A.I. will rule the world. Yes, these countries are more advanced than we are but they give direction to what will come towards us as we try and grow our economies to their level, save the fact that they dictate the direction the world goes in. Are we preparing ourselves enough to leverage these technologies or are we going to be left in the dust again thinking this revolution is only applicable in first world countries?

Who is watching the watchers?

While machine learning has the ability to greatly enhance efficiencies, spectacular failures have already occurred. Systems are fortunately being developed to guard against irregularities that have led to these glitches.

ONE OF the initial ideas with artificial intelligence was to address human bias. This was relatively easy in the old days when computers only did what they were told, but is getting harder today with machines sifting through hundreds and thousands of data points to arrive at conclusions.

Bias may creep in during many stages of the learning process, starting with poor framing of a problem. This example is nicely illustrated in Douglas Adams’ Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, which was already written in 1979, with a super computer, named Deep Thought, that was programmed to answer the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything. After seven and a half-million years of computing, the computer ironically came up with the answer, “42”.

Unlike today’s machines, Deep Thought was smart enough to realise that the answer was “probably meaningless”, because the beings who initiated it never really understood the question. In other words, they might not have known how to correctly frame the question, or did not understand the different ways in which the phrases or terms in the question could be interpreted.

Machine bias Take the word “fairness” as example, and the different interpretations of “fairness” when it comes to issues such as gender or racial equality as well as the way in which “fairness” should be expressed in mathematical terms when writing machine learning algorithms. Different people will have different interpretations of what fairness is, resulting in different machine learning outcomes.

Bias may also slip in during the gathering and usage of data, when the data itself is biased or the data is insufficient to generate representative conclusions. programmer. In the America this has led to programmes easily identifying stereotypical Western faces, but struggling to identify minority groups.

Another problem is that most systems are not “self conscious”, in other words, they have not been programmed to detect bias in their own “reasoning” or processing of information. In most cases, systems are tested for bias before they are deployed, with this testing done by the same company that designed the system, bringing us back to the age old Roman question: “Quis custodiet ipsos custodes.” which can be roughly translated into “who is watching the guards?”

Real life applications So how does machine bias affect people? While Deep Thought’s conclusion of the meaning of life had a negligible impact on the galaxy, machine learning bias can ruin lives and actually be fatal. The very same year in which The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy was released, was also the same year in which the world suffered its first robot fatality: The American car factory worker, Robert Williams.

to retrieve castings from high density storage shelves. The court awarded William’s estate 10 million USD in 1983, concluding that there were not enough safety measures in place to prevent such an accident from happening.

More recently, there has been growing complaints of machine bias making it harder for certain population groups to acquire loans, not only in South Africa but across the world.

In the United States, machine bias has led to black prisoners falsely being flagged as almost twice as likely to reoffend than white prisoners. Besides this, the tool was found to correctly predict recidivism 61% of the time, but only 20% of the time when it came to violent crimes.

Microsoft’s experiment with a chat bot in 2016 went haywire when the bot, @ TayandYou, became racist after spending less than a day on the internet. The bot, like a child picking up bad habits from the people in his surroundings, was led astray because the people from which it was learning weren’t “very nice”.

Even Amazon burnt its fingers in 2014, with a job screening programme that did not like women. The problem being that the computer vetted applicants by looking at historic employment patterns, which were dominated by males.

The solution Great strides are nevertheless being made in the battle against bias. Growing awareness of the negative spin-off of “poor” designs is resulting in data scientist taking extra care in formulating questions and ensuring that machines have access to representative unbiased data sets to work from.

Various companies are also working hard to address the problem, with IBM specifically developing algorithms to detect and mitigate hidden as well as learned bias. IBM’s Watson OpenScale platform aims to build trust and confidence in machine learning outcomes, by tracking the performance of artificial intelligence programme and their impact on business goals. It brings transparency to systems by generating explanations for decisions reached and conditions under which these decisions would change.

When faults are identified, the platform provides “plain text explanations of data ranges that have been impacted by bias in the model” allowing data scientists to fully understand how decisions have been reached. The platform also “de-biases” outcomes and provide fairness and accuracy ratings, to allow data scientists to make informed decisions about whether the models should be deployed.

Besides this, the platform lowers the bar when it comes to the development of algorithms, by

automating the process. Instead of inventing algorithms from scratch, data scientists in effect only need to download the model they need to reach their specific outcomes.

The platform also allows machines to be sensitive to regional rules and legislation. In South Africa, for example, demographics may be taken into account when it comes to job screenings for companies to reach certain BEE targets.

Machine bias in effect should be seen as mere growing pains of a world where things will become increasingly automated. With human error being removed through the creation of automated algorithms, and machines watching machines to ensure reliable outcomes, this world promises to be a lot fairer than the world we currently live in – where decisions are flawed by human biases, with no one to watch over these decision-makers. ai

year’s Government AI Readiness Index are dominated by countries with strong economies, good governance, and innovative private sectors. Singapore comes first for AI readiness, with the rest of the top 20 dominated

by Western European governments, as well as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and four further Asian economies.

There are no Latin American or African countries in the top 20.

“This is a timely reminder of the ongoing inequality around access to AI.” A surprising outcome is China’s relatively low position of 20th, even though central and local governments are already implementing AI in public service delivery. This is largely a result of missing data points, something we discuss in depth in our methodology annex paper.

The best performing region, on average, is North America, while the worst performing regions are Africa and the Asia-Pacific. The Index highlights the current inequality in AI readiness between global governments, with higher income countries predictably faring better in the rankings than middle and lower income countries. Given that we are on the cusp of seeing widespread AI implementation across a number of sectors, including public services, this is a timely reminder of the ongoing inequality of access to AI. Considering the disparities highlighted in this report, policymakers should act to ensure that global inequalities are not further entrenched or exacerbated by AI. Emerging technologies offer a unique opportunity to improve the governments of the future, and citizens’ experience of government. As we enter the age of automation, governments must ensure that they are ready to capitalise on the potential power of AI. Any action by governments, however, should be undertaken with great caution. If it is implemented without due care for ethics and safety, AI in public services could be at best ineffective, and at worst, very dangerous.

The purpose of assessing and scoring governments’ AI readiness is not to create or fuel a global race for AI. Rather, it is to help policymakers everywhere see where they are performing well, and in which areas they may wish to target their attention going forward. The age of AI is coming, and our intended contribution, through the Index, is to encourage all governments - whether in the Global North or South - to be as prepared as possible to help their citizens take advantage of the benefits of automation, while protecting them from its associated risks.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) technologies are forecast to add US$15 trillion to the global economy by 2030.

According to the findings of our Index and as might be expected, the governments of countries in the Global North are better placed to take advantage of these gains than those in the Global South. There is a risk, therefore, that countries in the Global South could be left behind by the so-called fourth industrial revolution. Not only will they not reap the potential benefits of AI, but there is also the danger that unequal implementation widens global inequalities.

AI has the power to transform the way that governments around the world deliver public services. In turn, this could greatly improve citizens’ experiences of government. Governments are already implementing AI in their operations and service delivery, to improve efficiency, save time and money, and deliver better quality public services.

In 2017, Oxford Insights created the world’s first Government AI Readiness Index, to answer the question: how well placed are national governments to take advantage of the benefits of AI in their operations and delivery of public services? The results sought to capture the current capacity of governments to exploit the innovative potential of AI. The 2019 Government AI Readiness Index, produced with the support of the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), sees a development of our methodology, and an expansion of scope to cover all UN countries (from our previous group of OECD members). It scores the governments of 194 countries and territories according to their preparedness to use AI in the delivery of public services.

The overall score is comprised of 11 input metrics, grouped under four high-level clusters: governance; infrastructure and data; skills and education; and government and public services. The data is derived from a variety of resources, ranging from our own desk research into AI strategies, to databases such as the number of registered AI startups on Crunchbase, to indices such as the UN eGovernment Development Index.

We divided the countries by region, principally following UN groupings, with the chief exception of the Western European and Others Group, which we separated to allow more in-depth analysis of higher scoring governments. For this edition of the Index, we invited regional experts to give commentary for each grouping, to supplement our quantitative findings with their insights and local knowledge.

in front of the US Congress, Technology experts quickly realized how poorly informed his questions were. As much as Congress wanted to regulate the tech behemoth, it was clear they had no idea how. Instead, they let him get away with grandiose claims about how AI would solve all the company’s problems. Dipayan Ghost, a Research fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School(HKS) is co-directing a new AI policy initiative with Tom Wheeler, a Senior Research Fellow at HKS and the Chairman of the US Federal Communications Commission under Obama.

Founded by HKS’s; Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy, the initiative will focus on expanding the legal and academic scholarship around AI ethics and regulation. It will also host a boot camp for US Congress members to help them learn more about the technology. The hope is that with these combined efforts, Congress and other Policymakers will be better equipped to effectively regulate and shepherd the growing impact of AI on society. The competition to develop AI is usually portrayed as a battle among Goliaths—-Amazon, Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Apple, IBM in the US; Baidu, Alibaba, Tencent in China.

These tech companies have started working on AI applications and many have created platforms for AI research, learning and others. Developing AI requires massive amount of data, and it’s hard to compete with the millions of terabytes in the hands of the behemoths. That’s largely consumer data.

Vast amount of proprietary corporate data lie outside the giant’s reach.

In the midst of these uncertainties and disadvantages of competing against these companies; there is a call for collective actions from governments and social organizations to work with institutions to develop AI roadmaps for their people. AI will affect everyone and so it is important we do engage in actions that prepare us for the future.

Business Recently I travelled to Zimbabwe and I was astonished by the innovation in this underdeveloped country. The long queues at the banks caused by cash shortages are unbearable for Zimbabweans, as an aid to remedy this one can now open a bank account using the WhatsApp phone application or by sending a text message and also apply for a small loan, which takes about 60 seconds to get approved. This has made it so much easier for people, especially senior citizens, to open accounts and have access to cash on their mobile phones and not have to wait in queues for a long period of time.

They can now access their cash on their mobile phones, they can get a small loan. This sounds great because 60 seconds is way faster than begging a friend to send money for an emergency. This is just one of the most transformative

applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in financial technology.

AFRICA ESSENTIALLY missed the opportunities of the second and third industrial revolutions. This time around Africa will not miss the possibilities of the forth industrial revolution. Contrary to the previous industrial revolutions, this one is evolving at an exponential rather than linear pace.

The greatest asset of Africa is its young population. From an estimated population from 140 million in 1900, it has grown to a billion by 2010. According to United Nations “medium scenario” projections, this figure will rise to 2.5 billion in 2050 and more than 4 billion 2050 and more than 4 billion in 2100. The learning videos, which has been professionally downloaded from diverse AI learning platforms of top international Artificial Intelligence universities, leading global Machine Learning researchers and first-rated AI conferences across the world. The selected videos are free and publicly available content, which is catalogued based on knowledge level, interest, specialisation and domain of application.

With this, Nigerian students who want to learn Big Data, Data Science, Machine/Deep Learning and other advanced analytics tools can now access the best learning materials without the challenges of internet cost, electricity limitation and poor download speed.
