ENSURING A BRIGHT FUTURE

While this past year has been filled with many challenges, I am hopeful.

Advances in health science have provided protection from COVID-19.

Innovative teaching methods using simulation are helping address healthcare disparities (see p. 16). Research from UCF faculty and nursing students are improving patient care.

While UCF has received transformational funding, there is still great need at the college level. In fact, this last year the college awarded $30,000 in emergency funding – the most ever. Thanks to the Gertrude Skelly Charitable Foundation, Carrie Daanen ’92 and the Vyas family, our students facing financial hardships have been able to stay in school to pursue their dream and care for our communities as Knight nurses.

There are also many more healthcare challenges to address by our faculty experts and highachieving students. More innovations to be made. More valuable research to be conducted.

With your help, we will continue to “Charge On!” and change lives in Central Florida and around the world. Together we will ensure a bright and healthy future for all.
