Guidelines
● It is advisable to keep a copy of the ETA approval with you to be produced at the port of entry in Sri Lanka.
● All ETA holders should fulfill the following requirements at the port of entry.
● The required type of visa is Business purpose visa.
● Business visa ETA can be obtained via https://eta.gov.lk/ website.
● It is recommended to start the application process at most 90 days prior.
● The ETA is initially limited up to 30 days from the date of arrival and it can be extended up to six months.
✔ A passport valid for not less than 6 months from the date of arrival.
✔ A confirmed return ticket.
✔ Sufficient funds to meet the expenses during the stay.
● The relevant ETA processing fee can be paid using electronic payment methods.

Pay the ETA fee securely online using the available payment options

Once your application is submitted and payment is confirmed, you will receive an Acknowledgment Receipt and an Unique Application Reference Number

Visa Exceptions
Visitors from the following countries who intend to apply for ETA may apply through a Sri Lankan Sponsor for their ETA from the Head office of the Department of Immigration & Emigration, Sri Lanka.
● Cameroon.
● Nigeria.
● Ivory Coast. ● Ghana.
A free Visa regime is implemented for nationals of
China.
India.
Indonesia.
● Thailand. ● Malaysia. ● Japan.
Russia.
Above nominated nationals should apply for ETA before arriving in Sri Lanka subject to granting/issuing free of charge.
Under this scheme visitors can enjoy a 30 days free visa period and a double entry facility is permitted from the date of first arrival to Sri Lanka within 30 days.
