Breaking news: The AxNV Design and Service Awards is SOLD OUT!
We can't wait to celebrate an incredible night of creativity and excellence with all of you. A special thank you to our amazing sponsors who made this possible. See you soon!
I would like to start by thanking you for the opportunity to serve as President of the AIA Las Vegas Chapter My service this year has reignited my passion for our organization and the good work we are doing here in Southern Nevada As I expected, this year went by even faster than the last None the less, we have some major accomplishments to celebrate as the year draws to a close We also have momentum to build on as we look at our goals for next year
I know you have heard this from me on this subject several times already this year, but I’ll take this last opportunity to champion support for our scholarship fund. Now that we have established the Nevada Architects Foundation as a 501c3 organization, you have a format to
put your tax-deductible donations to work through scholarships and programs that will advocate for design excellence, education, and future generations of Nevada architects. We will now move into the fundraising and program development phase through which your tax-deductible contributions will support educational outreach and scholarships
Mentoring our young professional colleagues will continue to be a focused goal during the coming year Your AIA LV Board of Directors is already working on new, collaborative avenues to provide resources and mentors to this foundational segment of our membership and profession. We will also continue our collaborative efforts with the UNLV School of Architecture in continuing our work to bridge the gap between academia and practice
As I transition into the role of AIA Nevada President, I look forward to representing you in Carson City during the 2025 legislative session As Citizen Architects, we will communicate the importance of design, community, sustainability, resiliency and energy efficiency to our local and state leaders. We will also highlight our unique skill sets that position us to take a leadership role in making our communities better places.
I look forward to closing out the year at the AIA Nevada: AxNV Design and Service Awards & Gala on Friday, December 6th at Circa Resort and Casino. There we will continue our celebration of the accomplishments of 2024 and look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead in 2025 Finally, I wish you all a wonder holiday season and hope that you will have the time to relax and refuel with friends and family
Regards,
Troy D. Moser, AIA
