AIA Indianapolis / Year in Review 2025 Build Beyond MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
I’m reminded of how quickly it can pass when the work is both meaningful and rewarding. It’s been a true honor to serve as your President this year. Giving back to the AIA Indianapolis community has been a highlight of my
career, and I’m grateful to be surrounded by colleagues who are so passionately committed to design excellence, advocacy, and the bright future of our profession.
At the start of 2025, momentum was already building across our city.
quo. And over the past year, we answered that call by leading with purpose.
We leaned into our role as visionaries and problem-solvers, and we worked to elevate the voice of architects in shaping Indianapolis.

YEAR IN REVIEW 2025
I called upon us all to Build Beyond – beyond pretty pictures and the status
fundamentals. By embracing the power of storytelling, we are also better
equipped to share the value of our work and deepen the connection between
people and the places we design. Thank you to everyone who helped make our programs and special events possible this year.
We were honored to welcome AIA National President Evelyn Lee, FAIA to
Indianapolis in August. Her visit reminded us that we must be tireless advo-
cates for excellence in the built environment, equity within our communities, and the transformative impact that design can have in everyday life.
As Citizen Architects, we have the power to shape the world around us, crafting spaces that inspire, challenge, and delight. I encourage you all
to claim your seat at the table as a creative, servant leader and leave a legacy that we can be proud of for generations to come. Thank you for
your contributions, creativity, and commitment to our profession. We built
more than buildings this year. We built momentum and a renewed sense of
community and purpose. Let’s carry that energy forward, and let’s continue
