Welcome to Filter Magazine! Mr. Stanyard and I came up with the idea for this publication because we wanted to showcase just how much goes on in the photography classes here at Anderson High School. This first issue is just a little bit of what’s to come! So many students here create amazing work everyday and I wanted to put together as much of it as possible to share and hopefully spread some inspiration. Enjoy!
Sarah Schonauer Student Editor - Anderson High School The idea of a student-produced art publication came up during a conversation with Sarah about the unique and interesting photographs that were being made in the photography classes. We felt that we needed a way to share that with the community. Making art is a very personal experience, while at the same time being very communal. Artists thrive when given an opportunity for expression and an outlet for their work. That is something we hope this magazine helps to provide for the young artists of Anderson High School. KATIE SCHWEINHAGEN ‘19 Katie handmade the heart used in her photograph “Eat Your Heart Out”, shown on the left. To make it, she used gelatin, liquid glycerin, and stage blood and formed it by hand after freezing. The hardwork shows through in how bold and breathtaking the final product is.
