EPIC SUPPORTS
ALAMEDA HEALTH SYSTEM,
ALAMEDA HEALTH SYSTEM FOUNDATION AND SOUL OF SPRING
with the patient at the heart
On behalf of the Alameda Health System Foundation’s Board of Directors and our Events and Engagement Committee, I’m excited to welcome you to our 4th Soul of Spring at the historic Henry J. Kaiser Center for the Arts Calvin Simmons Theatre.
Soul of Spring, a benefit for Alameda Health System (AHS), is the result of many hours of dreaming, iterating, and hard work of many people to celebrate and uplift the anchor institution that is Alameda Health System.
AHS has been and always will be rooted in Caring, Healing, Teaching, and Serving All. The mission is lived every day in the five hospitals and nine wellness centers that make up AHS. As the public health safety net system — an essential health system — in Alameda County, AHS plays a significant role in the well-being of the residents of the county:
• AHS is the home to the only adult Level 1 Trauma Center in the East Bay
• The Bridge Clinic is at the forefront of the opioid and substance use crisis. It was recently recognized for its innovative approach to addiction medicine by The New York Times Magazine.
• AHS meets patients and families where they are, whether it’s at a local wellness center or via our Mobile Health Clinic or our Dental Sprinter Van.
As president of AHS Foundation, it brings me great joy to bring people together not just to spend time in community listening to great music and enjoy the festivities but to come together to support the work that AHS is doing every day for the community and beyond.
I want to thank the many individuals who helped put this event together tonight — it is certainly a project that is driven by the heart. I’d also like to thank you for your ongoing support for AHS, its patients, and all our Alameda County community.
Warm regards,
Preston S. Walton President Alameda Health System Foundation
