I've started to work at AHRC Nassau at the Freeport hub site and I've been working as a DSP 1:1 withTimothy MacDonagh who is such is an amazing gentleman, full of energy and so affectionate. He has such a cute smile that make people fall in love with him. Workingwith him has taught me patience and self-control, He also gives me a sense of purpose and fulfillment.

He loves music, calmness, and rides in the van. I love taking care of him and over time, we ' ve built a perfect bond.

Since Widly joined our team in January 2025, she demonstrated a strong commitment to building meaningful connections, even accompanying one of the residents on a weekend casino trip to a Mets game and to a dance.
Widly embraced the experience wholeheartedly—dressing up in formal attire to match the person she supported, making it a memorable and joyful night for both.

Widly consistently goes above and beyond—not only within her assigned residence but also by stepping in to assist other homes whenever needed. Her dedication, compassion, and teamoriented mindset have not gone unnoticed. We are truly fortunate to have her as part of our team.

I want to give a shout out to Steve Leyand, the assistant manager of Oceanside Road.
Steve has been doing an awesome job running the site since the passing of manager Sean, while still being fairly new to being an assistant manager.
Thank you Steve for all you do for everyone at Oceanside.

It's impossible to state how much the DSPs mean to our family and particularly Richard. The love and caring they show every day is beyond just saying THANK YOU.
The staff at Bourne Ct. goes above and beyond every day. They never hesitate to do the right thing for the individuals who reside there.

Our manager Joanne is a true leader who leads with passion and love for our individuals and staff. When Richard was born, my mom used to say, "God sent us an angel."
What she didn't say, but I know, he also sent us Guardian Angels called DSPs.

Bastien Elince has consistently gone above and beyond in his role, earning the admiration and appreciation of both staff and residents. Bastien has become much more than a staff member; he has become the heart and soul of the residence. One of Bastien's standout qualities is how he expresses love and care through his cooking. Every meal he prepares is made with intention, not just to nourish but to comfort and connect. Residents look forward to his dishes, and not just for the taste but the Joy and attention that comes with it.
Bastien is also known for going the extra mile in every aspect of his role. In every way, Bastien embodies what it means to be a great staff Member by his work ethic, commitment, and strong sense of responsibility for those he cares for .

Happy DSP Week to our wonderful DSPs.

Thank you so much for all you do every day!

Words just aren't enough to express my appreciation to the DSPs out there.
These are special people who work in a field that can be challenging. They approach it with kindness, patience, and empathy each day.
DSPs see the beauty of what each person with special needs has to offer when many people don't want to see this in their path or out in the community.
The DSPs at the Farmingdale PWOW (formerly Clocks) are an outstanding group. My daughter can be very challenging some days, and I thought she could never join a PWOW due to her behaviors. From the management to the DSPs, they have shown that they can handle these challenges with compassion and patience.
I could probably write a book on the wonderful DSPs AHRC has working for them, but I will keep it short.
THANK YOU to all the DSPs for your hard work and tireless efforts each day you work with our family members.

I don't know where to begin, heaping praise on the current DSPs who work with my son at the Francis Avenue residence and the Wheatley Farms day program.
There are so many who work so hard— and work well. I wish we could pay them closer to what they are worth.

There are no words to express our appreciation to the Staff at Circle Drive, Glen Cove. Our son Robert is so very content at "his house."

And, we as parents are so very thankful and appreciative that he is so content and happy.
A very special thank you to Stephen, Carol, Audrey, Vanessa, Michael, Calvin, and Antonio.
You are amazing staff and very kind.

Chris Croney has been a valued member of Stewart Ave. home since 2021.

Throughout this period, he has consistently demonstrated a high level of dedication and professionalism in his role.
He takes good care of everyone in the residence, showing a great level of responsibility in ensuring their needs are met.
One of Chris's notable strengths is his diligence in making sure all individuals attend their medical appointments.
He is dependable and maintains clear communication with both nurses and staff members to coordinate care effectively. His consistent efforts to support the well-being of residents make a powerful impact and are greatly appreciated.

In the spring of 2020, Michael Wager was temporarily assigned to the Pearl St. residence. He remains there five years later. The residents affectionately call him "Pops."
If you ever visit Pearl St in the evening, you will notice the aroma of a great home-cooked meal as soon as you enter the home.
The residents frequently will say, "Pops, when are you opening up your own restaurant?" Michael is honored to be a DSP, encouraging friendship, emotional support, and aiding in day-to-day activities.

When my son finished school and had to switch to a hub site, I was so sad and worried. Would he hate it? Soon, I saw there was absolutely no reason to feel like that. Now, he runs to the car to go, AND the staff at Carmans Road, Massapequa, are his favorite people.

He even tries to get us to take him there on weekends. So, thanks for another wonderful year!
YAY Carmans Road!
