Soon the days will grow shorter and the crisp air of autumn will settle in! After another action-packed summer at the Arlington Heights Park District filled with camps, special events, outdoor programming and pool days, we are excited to turn the page and welcome a new season of opportunities for recreation, connection and fun!
One of the most exciting updates this season is that the Recreation Park redevelopment project is nearing completion. We look forward to welcoming you back into the community building soon and sharing these updated spaces. We sincerely thank our residents for their patience and support throughout this important three-phase project. Throughout every step of the redevelopment process, our community remained at the center of the planning and decisionmaking. These improvements were thoughtfully designed to preserve the history and character of Recreation Park while enhancing the experience for current residents and future generations. Recreation Park has long been a cornerstone of our community and these updates will ensure it continues to serve as a welcoming gathering place for years to come.
As always, there is plenty to look forward to around the district this fall, including community events like Trunk or Treat, Pumpkin Smash and Winter Frostival. We are excited to share that Heritage Fest will now take place on September 19 at the Arlington Heights Historical Museum, creating a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate our local diversity. We are also thrilled to welcome back the popular Speakeasy Night at the museum, offering another unique and memorable evening to enjoy this fall.
We invite you to explore this program guide and discover the many ways to stay active, engaged and connected this fall. On behalf of the Board of Commissioners, thank you for being part of the Arlington Heights Park District community. We cannot wait to see you around the district this fall!
Sincerely,
Maryfran H. Leno

Regardless of residency status, new account holders must provide a name, address, email, phone number and your date of birth to set up an account.

The following forms of identification will be accepted to prove residency:
1. Each adult on the profile must provide either a driver’s license or state ID with current address OR two of the following: utility bill(s), no older than 60 days, voter registration card, or a vehicle registration card listing name and household address.

Participants progress through structured levels as their skills develop
Swim School | Ages 5-12 years
40 minutes
Swim School classes provide a structured, skillbased progression for swimmers of all experience levels. Instructors guide participants through stroke techniques, lateral breathing, diving and essential water safety skills in a fun and supportive atmosphere. With clearly defined levels and consistent feedback, swimmers advance at their own pace as they develop stronger technique and confidence. Whether a child is new to lessons or continuing their aquatic journey, Swim School offers a streamlined path toward becoming a capable, confident swimmer!
Beginner Teen Swim School | Ages 12-15 years
40 minutes
This class is specifically designed for beginner teens who have little to no experience in the water and are just starting their swimming journey. Our instructors focus on building confidence first — helping teens overcome fear, develop basic coordination in the water and gain the skills needed to progress toward independent swimming. This is a great fit for teens who may feel out of place in younger swim school levels but still need true beginner instruction!
If your child can already swim independently, we strongly recommend exploring our competitive swim programs or private lessons to better match their abilities and continue skill development.
Each swimmer is paired with one other participant of a similar skill level and shares one instructor. Lessons follow the structured Swim School curriculum. Please note, instructors may vary week to week.
Beginner | 5-9 years old
For swimmers with little to no water experience who are still developing comfort in the pool and are unable to float or swim independently.
Advanced | 7-12
years old
For swimmers who can swim 25 yards without assistance. Focus is on stroke refinement, endurance and technique.

66 | ADULT LEAGUES
The Park District offers adult leagues at a variety of competitive levels to accommodate players and teams with a range of recreational interests and abilities. All players must be 18 years or older.
Registration
One player registers an entire team and all fees are due at registration. Register for your preferred level and, if that level is full, register for the waitlist. Do not register for the wrong competitive level to get into a league. If you are a player looking to join a team, please contact the league supervisor.
Bracketing and Scheduling
Once registration closes, brackets and season schedules are created. Final brackets are determined by a variety of factors including, the number of teams registered and past season records.
• We try our best to evenly assign game time slots and cannot accommodate special schedule requests.
• Once schedules are finalized, we email a schedule link, season information and team roster/waiver instructions to the captain.
Rosters and Waivers
Your team roster also serves as the individual waiver for all players and a new roster with all players’ signatures must be submitted before the start of your first game every season.
Men's Basketball Leagues
Games are played on Thursday evenings. Each team plays ten regular season games, followed by a single elimination playoff based on regular season standings. Awards are paid out to the winners of the regular season and playoffs. Please note, if we have an uneven number of teams registered, teams may be required to play more than one game in a night.
