Wednesday, November 4, 6–7 p.m. and Wednesday, November 18, 4–5 p.m. Zoom Practice your reading and literacy skills by reading a book together with a high school volunteer! Kids in kindergarten through 3rd grade can sign up for a 15-minute slot. While this program is especially great for kids learning English as a new language, all are welcome. Grades K-3.

Minecraft Mania Saturday, November 7, 10:30 a.m.–noon / Zoom

Using Minecraft’s creative mode, you will be challenged to build and decorate an object related to a theme. Using your own account is encouraged. If you do not already have an account, one will be provided. Equipment needed: Computer or mobile device for compatibility. Grades 3-4.

Read Aloud BOOK CLUB

Mondays, November 9, 16, 23, 30 4:30–5:30 p.m. / Zoom Join us for a book club where you don’t need to read the book beforehand!

At each virtual meeting of the read aloud book club, we will listen to a book and then discuss what we heard. The book club will meet once a week for four weeks.

We will be reading The Midnight War of Mateo Martinez by Robin Yardi. Life is confusing for Mateo Martinez. He and Johnny Ramirez don’t hang out anymore, even though they used to be best friends. He and his new friend Ashwin try to act like brave, old-time knights, but it only gets them in trouble. And last night, two skunks stole Mateo’s old trike. Wait—two skunks stole his trike? Mateo also has a neighborhood to protect. And he’s about to begin a big, stinky quest to catch the thieves. A quest that starts in the middle of the night! Grades 2-4.

Tuesday, November 24, 4–4:45 p.m. / Zoom

This virtual program is based on the popular book series, Who Would Win? by Jerry Pallotta and Rob Bolster. We’ll talk about our favorites of the series, what animals we think would win in a battle, and who are some of the most dangerous animals on the planet. Grade 3.
