Spotlight on... Children’s Playaways

Have you seen the library’s new audiobook collection in Kids’ World? These audiobooks are on self-contained devices called Playaways. Many families no longer own CD players, and young children often do not have their own digital device for downloading audiobooks. Playaways provide access to audio versions of popular children’s books in a kid-friendly format. The library has a variety of titles to choose from, including the Harry Potter and Captain Underpants series. Their size makes them perfect for plugging in for a long car ride or taking a walk. Search our website for keyword “audiobooks” and look for Format>Playaway in the search menu to see all titles or look for the Playaways display in Kids’ World—just add your own headphones, earbuds or speaker and a AAA battery.
