PerGR1317,intheeventofafall/accidentwherethecompetitoris apparently unconscious or concussed, he/she is precluded from competinguntilevaluatedbyqualifiedmedicalpersonnelasdefined in GR1211.5. If the competitor refuses to be evaluated, he/she is disqualifiedfromthecompetition.
AdultsshowinginAdultAmateur/Amateurhunterorjumperclasses must be Amateur Senior or Life Members of the USEF or Affiliate Membersof theUSEF. NonmembersofUSEFmustbeinpossession ofUSEFAmateurCertification
While the arenas are open for schooling on the flat and/or over fences, show management reserves the right to ask horses/riders/trainers to leave the arenas if their schooling is disruptingthehorseshow. Horsesand/orunauthorizedpersonsare not permitted in arenas when a course is set or in the process of beingsetforanupcomingclass. VIOLATIONSofanyoftheabovewill be considered cause for elimination from the show and/or a $100 fine.

A current (within 6 months) negative EIA must be included with entries. Horses entering the grounds must be accompanied by documentation of Equine Influenza Virus and Equine HerpesVirus (Rhinopneumonitis) vaccinations within six months prior to enteringthestables. Horsesnotincompliancewiththisrulemaybe required to leave the competition grounds upon request by CompetitionManagement.

In accordance with GR1301.7: Minors who do not have a valid driver'slicensewhichallowsthemtooperateamotorizedvehiclein the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorizedvehicleofanykind,including,butnotlimitedto,golfcarts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver's license. The parent(s) legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in volation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsibleforthe child committing the offense.Penaltiesmay include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or
trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exemptfromthisrule.
Checks returned by the bank for any reason will be assessed a penaltyof$50. Uponnotificationofareturnedcheck,accountswill be given three days to make full payment, including the penalty, which must be paid in certified funds, cashier’s check or money order.
Sharpscontainersareavailablefortheproperdisposalofneedlesor other sharp disposable instruments please use them! Show Management may fine any individuals including trainers, owners, exhibitors, or their agents up to $100 for improper disposal of needlesorothersharpdisposableinstruments.
ItiscompulsoryforallpersonsatFederationlicensedhunter,jumper or hunter/jumper competitions when mounted anywhere on the competitiongrounds,towearproperlyfastenedprotectiveheadgear which meets or exceeds ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials)SEI(SafetyEquipmentInstitute)standardsforequestrian useandcarriestheSEItag. Itmustbeproperlyfittedwithharness secured.
As no monies have to be paid until checking in, there will be no refundsissued.

Horsesmustbekeptinstalls,andundernocircumstancesarehorses to be turned out in arenas or round pen at any time. Horse/pony mustbehandheldorriddeniftheyareoutoftheirstall. Onehorse per stall and all horses must be in a stall or in hand. No paddocks maybeerectedineitherthestablingorparkinglotarea. Horsesare nottobeleftunattendedtiedtotrailers,orloseintrailers.
Stall fees are due if a horse occupies a stall at any time during the day/night. For stabling a deposit of $50 must be received by the show office before numbers will be issued. This deposit will be returnedifthefollowingconditionsaremet: 1.Removeallmanure, hay,beddingandtrash. 2. Rakeupandremoveallspilledbedding from in front of stall area. 3. Rake gravel level inside the stall in preparationforthenextoccupant. Toretrievedeposit,pleasefind the show manager (may be busy at the end of the show) to get deposit. Please issue deposit on separate check to facilitate returning.

Riders may enter and compete in the Hunter U/S classes without completingtheoverfenceportionofthedivision Courses
Huntercourseswillsimulatefencesfoundinthehuntingfieldsuch as: brush, wall, in-and-out, oxer, post and rails, gate, coop, and panels. The area of the courtesy circle may be restricted by a mandatory line and will be indicated on the course diagram, as well as a corresponding barrier erected on course. Managementreservesthe righttoadjustfenceheightsorspreadsascompetitionwarrants.
In Handy classes obstacles must simulate those found in trappy hunting country. The course must have at least two changes of directionandatleastonecombination. Horsesmayberequiredto trotoveroneobstacletowardtheendofthecourse,maybeaskedto leadoveroneobstacleoropenagatewhilemounted.

Performance begins when the horse enters the ring or is given the signaltoproceedafterenteringthering. Exceptforrefusals,jumping faultsofthehorsearenottobeconsideredunlessitistheresultof therider’sability. Thefollowingconstitutemajorfaultsandmaybe causeforelimination: 1)refusal 2)lossofstirrup 3)trottingwhile on course and when not part of a test and 4)loss of reins. Each contestant may circle once if desired before approaching the first jump. He or she may then proceed around the course keeping an even hunting pace. Any of all contestants may be called back to performatthe walk,trotandcanter,ortoexecuteanyappropriate tests,heldandjudgedinaccordancewithUSEFEQ113. EQ107.1.i.2: The following actions will result in elimination: Three cumulative refusals.

HorseShowsareputonbyfellowcommunitymemberswhomaybepartofanorganizationor individuals. Duetotheincreasing costsandlowerhorsenumbers,showmanagershaveoptedthesepastfewyearstorunUSHJAOutreachHorseShows. These “unrated classes” allow horse show management to save on some of the costs of hosting a rated horse show. Without sponsorshipsandvolunteers,themanagementputtingontheseshowsisluckytobreakevenattheendofashow.
EvenwithOutreachHorse Shows,itisjust below$5000 perdaytoruna horse showandcoverexpenses. For 2024AHJAis tryingsomenewideastochangethecoststructure:
1. Chargingforschoolingthedayprior. Settingthecourse,rentingandpreparingthearenaforusers. Usersoftheshow arenawillbechargedagroundsfeeof$50onschoolingday.(Perhorse)
2. Increasedstablingcosts: Facilitiescharge$20/$25/dayhoweverwemusthavesomeonestayovernightandcheckon thehorses,aswellashiresomeonetoassignstalls,checkstalls,andkeeptrackforthefacility.
3. ChangedGroundsFee. Weunderstandthatpeoplewishtobringtheirhorsestothefacilityandgetthemusetoashow environment. Forthosewearecharging$50/dayforusingthefacilitysinceeachdayhasscheduledtimeforusingthe showarena. Forthosethatwishtohaulinandnotstable,youwillnolongerhaveaGroundsFee.
4. EliminatedNominationFee. Thereisstilla$5/$10feeforchangingclassesduringthehorseshow(nofeeifchanging uponcheckin).
5. AddedConvenienceFee. Forthosethatcan’temailtheirentriesaweekbeforetheshowwewillcharge$50totake themupto5:00p.m.thenightbeforetheshow. Noentrieswillbeacceptedafterthistime. Hopefullythiswill encourageparticipantstolessentheloadontheshowsecretarybygettingtheirentriesinearlier.
