Meat Judging Team Starts Fall with a Win

Team members include Ben Bradbury, Winfield, KS; Britten Coates, Baldwin City, KS; Emily Albright, Delia, KS; Emily Glenn, Scott City, KS; Grace Knepp, Linconville, KS; Kylynn Mallen, Cameron, MO; Stephanie Witberler, Edgar, WI; Terra Heilman, Cushing, IA; Tessa Beeman, Hamilton, KS; and Walker Clawson, Meade, KS.

The 2021 KSU Meat Judging Team began their fall semester by placing first overall at the Iowa State Intercollegiate Meat Judging Contest. Kansas State was followed teams from West Texas A&M (2nd), Oklahoma State (3rd), Angelo State (4th), and Texas A&M (5th).

All ten K-State students placed in the Top Five overall in at least one division.

In total, 58 students representing ten universities competed in the contest. This marks the third time in the last four years K-State has earned championship honors at this contest. The Kansas State team is coached by graduate students Keayla Harr and Erin Beyer and Dr. Travis O’Quinn.
