From Jeff Krejdl's Desk As we get into the full swing of the harvest season, I want to thank you for putting your trust in Ag Valley Co-op to handle your fall production. I know that you have options for that production, and that we need to continue to work hard every day to earn your business. We continue to focus on improving our customer service and how we can make Ag Valley Co-op your agricultural partner of choice. Please do not hesitate to let us know what we can do to help you. We will be serving lunches for you and your harvest crews at our locations next week. We will have sack lunches available at the scales for your truck drivers to take back to the fields. I hope you will accept those lunches as a token of our thanks and appreciation for your business. Please watch our website, social media sites, and notifications on your phone for the schedule. We continue to watch the fertilizer and chemical markets with a lot of interest. Natural gas prices, hurricanes, COVID supply chain disruptions, CVD lawsuits, and a host of other factors have created more volatility in these markets than at any other time that I can remember. While this market is challenging, this is precisely why Ag Valley Cooperative and the cooperative system exist. We are an extension of your farming operation. We have invested in assets that bring value to your operations. We will have the products and services available for you in uncertain times, and we assume the risk in these volatile market situations. That allows you to concentrate on managing and operating your farms. We are proud to be your partner in production agriculture. As we continue to keep our employees safe and free from injury, I ask that you please check the traps on your grain trailers. If they need maintenance or need to be rebuilt, please consider getting that done. Please keep in mind that it may open fine when the hopper is empty, but it may be tough to open when that trap gets a load on it. Our employees are our most important asset. If they are injured and cannot perform their duties, our ability to provide you the quality service you desire and deserve becomes compromised. I appreciate your help! As I finish up, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your business and your support of Ag Valley Coop. The employees of Ag Valley Coop all know that without you, we would not exist, and we are incredibly thankful that you allow us to be part of your operation. We try hard every day to bring value to you and your family farm. Your success is our success, and we will continue to focus on things that help make you successful. Have a safe and bountiful harvest, and please do not hesitate to give me a call anytime. I would enjoy the chance to visit with you.

Jeff Krejdl Thank you!

Safety Update - From Terry Klein

Harvest activity has begun in our trade area, and the enthusiasm of the harvest is always evident in our neighbors and customers as we pass on the roads or in the hallways. This is the time of year when we find out if all the effort extended over the last 4 months or so pays off. Somewhat like Christmas, the anticipation continues to build until the harvest is completed, and the entire family is involved. Please consider the following safety tips: · Remember that everyone helping with harvest may not be as experienced around equipment as you are. Please don’t take safety for granted. · Everyone operating ATVs should receive proper training before operation. If equipped with safety belts, they should be used every time the unit is put into motion. · Teach everyone on your crew to make eye contact with the equipment operator before approaching, and wait for them to acknowledge that it is safe to proceed. · Take time to explain the dangers of PTO shafts and other exposed moving parts of equipment to the crew, and what to do if something goes wrong. · Make sure augers are properly guarded, and loose or torn clothing is kept well clear of any entanglement hazards. Use extreme caution while moving equipment and watch for overhead hazards. · Stay focused when on the road during harvest. Being distracted by a phone call or text message may lead to a life-changing event. Please stay safe and enjoy the blessing of a bountiful harvest with your family and friends. Don’t let a tragic accident ruin the year – Safety Starts With You! Contact Terry at tklien@agvalley.com

Scale Cards Assist in Automation RFDI Card Readers have been installed in our Bartley, Edison, and North Platte locations. This system allows for automation in recording truck weights. The system will help reduce time on the scale. Upon entering the inbound scale, the driver scans their card without leaving the cab. When they return to the outbound scale, scan the card and the system will pull the loaded weight, record the empty weight and print a scale ticket. The driver is then free to go. The system will assign those weights to the partners and splits associated with each field as directed to our scale operators during the first delivered load. This saves time, increases efficiency, and reduces human error. Be sure to pick up your card today at the Bartley, Edison, or North Platte locations. Questions: contact Janelle Schoen (308) 927-3681.
