NOVEMBER 26, 2022

From the CEO, Jeff Krejdl I hope that everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving. 2022 has certainly had its challenges, and, at times, it has been hard to remember that we have a lot to be thankful for. "Even in the trials of life, if we have eyes to see them, we can find good things everywhere we look" (Joanna Gaines). I ran across this quote the other day that reminded me that we need to take the time to look for the good things in our lives, and we truly do have a lot to be thankful for! As we wind down harvest at Ag Valley Co-op this year, the toll that the drought has taken on production agriculture in our trade territory has become very apparent. We are down significantly in harvest bushels across all grains, and if you have driven by any of our facilities, you can see that our bunkers are empty, and we have very little grain on the ground. While that eliminates the risk that we usually have with the weather on open corn piles, the lack of bushels that we have to market will undoubtedly affect Ag Valley Co-op as we finish out this fiscal year and move into next spring and summer. I keep returning to the fact we have been through droughts before and have emerged as a better company because of them. I am confident that will be the case as we work through this one. I know what can be accomplished when everyone works together; that is the essence of what it means to be part of a Cooperative. I genuinely believe that we are all stronger working together than separately, and I thank you for allowing us to be your partner in production agriculture. The commodity input markets continue to be the topics of interest as we move closer to the spring planting season. Please remember that you are part of a cooperative system designed and built to handle these challenges. Our investments in assets and infrastructure give us an advantage in these markets. Supply and logistic issues will continue to be a concern the closer we get to spring. We will continue to stay on top of the latest market news and are constantly looking for market opportunities as they present themselves. Please keep in touch with your Ag Valley representatives as you consider your input needs for next year's crop. I hope that everyone has a great Holiday Season, and thank you for your business and support of Ag Valley Co-op! Thanks!
