As we approach April 1st, it is hard to believe that we are at the beginning of another spring planting season. The spring season brings renewed hope and a sense of optimism as we see green start to return to the wheat fields and pastures. After a long January and February of little activity, the Ag Valley dry fertilizer spreaders have been busy getting caught up the last couple of weeks before the planting rush is upon us. As you prepare to put your crop in the ground this season, I encourage you to contact your Ag Valley representatives. Volatility continues to be the name of the game in the ag commodity and input markets. Things change very quickly, often daily, and communication with you and understanding your needs will be vital as we strive to provide you with the best service possible.

Our fiscal year ended on February 28th; as I look back at the last year, I am pleased with Ag Valley Co-op's performance in a year that saw extreme volatility and unprecedented black swan events (locally and globally). While I cannot share the financial results yet, I can say that your cooperative performed well this year, and I look forward to sharing those results with you at our annual meeting and customer appreciation meals. We will hold those celebrations in the first part of June.

If you are an active agricultural producer, you will receive a nomination ballot the week of April 10th. You can use that ballot to nominate potential candidates for the Board of Directors. Please watch your mail for those ballots. You do not need to do anything with that ballot unless you nominate someone to run for the Board of Directors. The voting ballot and notice of the annual meeting will be mailed to you the first week in May. That ability to participate in director elections and help set the direction of Ag Valley Co-op makes the cooperative system unique. I would encourage you to participate in this essential process.

Thank you for your business and for allowing us to be a part of your farming operation. That is not something that we take lightly, and we will continue to work hard every day to earn your business. Please stay safe as you begin fieldwork this spring.

Thank you,

Be sure to congratulate these employees!
