Ag Valley Co-op Sponsored the Agricultural Communications Proficiency at State FFA this year FFA members who have earned specific abilities through supervised agricultural experiences are recognized and awarded with Agricultural Proficiency Awards These talents can be applied toward the members' future employment in agriculture.
Avery Salomon from the Gothenburg FFA earned second place, and Ryan Braniff from the Tekemah-Herman FFA earned first. Ryan will compete in the National Agricultural Communications Proficiency Contest at National FFA in October.
Ag Valley CEO Jeff Krejdl, Ag Valley Grain Mechandiser Bryce Roberts, and Adam Fesser of the Nebraska Cooperative Council paid a visit to the Ag Marketing Class at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture. During the presentation, they went through the definition of a cooperative, the advantages of belonging to a local cooperative, and the process of grain selling.
David Dodson, who is the Director of Energy at Ag Valley Co-op, and Brian Schwartz, who is the District Manager for Nebraska and Colorado for Cenex Lubricants, were the guest presenters in the Ag Mechanics class at the University of Nebraska-NCTA. During their presentation, David and Brian covered topics pertaining to Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) as well as Lubricants.

To assist students in furthering their education, 16 scholarships worth $2,500 each are being made available by Triangle Insurance, which is Ag Valley Co-op's provider. Stand Up Grain Safety Week was March 27 -31st. Ag Valley Co-op Grain employees celebrated the week by watching safety videos to ensure they have the proper safety education for grain bin safety.
Those who watched the videos were entered in a drawing. The winners were Darby Soderlund, Dudley Karlson, Mike Sieja Jr., Ryder Lewis, Sebastian Dibbern, and Taryn Jacob. A big shoutout to Ryder Lewis who won the grand prize for attending trainings all five days!
