Hello!

I want to start off by thanking you for your business. On behalf of the entire Agtegra team, it’s our mission to serve your farms and families, and we take that very seriously. It’s been a busy summer, and that’s a great problem to have! While the spring planting season was hectic as usual with only a few decent weather windows to plant, our sense is that most of the intended acres were planted with the exception of soybeans and areas that were impacted by late May rains.

Our agronomy team continues to focus on feeding the crops that are in the ground. We have some concerning dry areas in the southern part of our territory, but for the most part, the crop is up and doing well so far. Our grain team continues to ship the record 2025 crop and prepare for a significant late summer grain flow that will feel like a second harvest. Our feed team anticipates great sales and an especially strong demand for creep feed throughout the rest of the summer, as putting pounds on calves quickly has become an urgent priority due to questionable pasture conditions in the drier parts of our territory. Lastly, our energy team is working on keeping fuel stocked on farms and businesses as summer activities ramp up.

With just a few weeks left in our fiscal year, Agtegra is poised for another high-performing year.

Investments in capacity, speed and storage space over the past few years have paid off, but we have much more to do. We have areas where production has grown dramatically, and the cooperative must continue to invest to support those member-owners. Those projects are being evaluated as we consider core investments for 2027 and beyond, and it’s a great reminder why we must continue to have strong financial performance — so we can continue to invest in your success while revolving your equity.

I recognize that the farm economy is in uncertain times. Global conflict has elevated prices for fuel and key agronomic inputs. Inflation is still a major issue and is shifting buying patterns and consumer preferences. Global trade continues to be challenging to execute with tariffs still in place, which greatly impacts prices and logistics. Labor is tough to source and has become a lightning rod for political infighting. While there is much churn in the current economic storm, please know that my priority is keeping Agtegra as strong and stable as possible, so that no matter what, you can count on us to support your farms, families and communities for generations to come.

I want to close by thanking you again for your business and thanking our valued team members for their hard work and dedication.

FAULKTON

FEED MILL

I

n March 2026, Agtegra announced its plans to construct a new, stateof-the-art feed mill in Faulkton, South Dakota. The 100,000-ton facility will prioritize biosecurity and produce complete grind-mix bulk feed, primarily for swine and poultry farms in South Dakota.

“Our farmer-owned cooperative has a long history of supporting livestock producers, and we believe strongly in the future of livestock production in our region,” Agtegra CEO Jason Klootwyk said. “We are investing in modern infrastructure that will provide producers with a highquality, biosecure feed supply while creating economic opportunities for 4

our members and the community.”

The mill will be located adjacent to Agtegra’s grain elevator east of Faulkton, where it will grind locally-sourced corn and blend it with soybean meal, vitamins and minerals to produce complete feed rations. By using more corn locally, it will create a consistent, value-added domestic market for area farmers with reduced transportation needs and a more efficient and sustainable cycle – from the crop to feed to livestock and back to the field.

The project reinforces Agtegra’s long-term commitment to the Faulkton community and is

expected to add a dozen local jobs.

With a reliable, local feed supply and the growing interest from livestock producers in the region, this new feed mill will create more opportunities for local farmers to grow swine or poultry production or diversify their existing operation.

Agtegra partnered with the South Dakota Governor’s Office of Economic Development on the project. The Board of Economic Development approved this project for a reinvestment payment to support continued livestock development in the state.

Agtegra team members involved in the Faulkton Feed Mill project were joined by members of Agtegra's Board of Directors, South Dakota Governor Larry Rhoden, South Dakota Governor's Office of Economic Development Commissioner Bill Even and Faulkton Mayor Slade Roseland at the groundbreaking ceremony on March 27.

“This investment strengthens South Dakota’s livestock industry while creating a new value-added market for local producers,” said Bill Even, commissioner of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development.

“Projects like this help keep more of our agricultural products working here at home, supporting farmers, producers, and rural communities.”

To commemorate the occasion, a groundbreaking ceremony was

held on March 27, with comments provided by special guests South Dakota Governor Larry Rhoden, South Dakota Governor's Office of Economic Development Commissioner Bill Even and Faulkton Mayor Slade Roseland.

Construction officially started at the end of April, with the facility anticipated to be operational in 2027.

hen the Build Dakota Scholarship program was established in 2015, its goal was to address South Dakota's workforce shortage by providing students a full-ride scholarship to one of four of the state's technical schools. For Agtegra, becoming an industry partner in 2023 created an opportunity to do just that — support local students, provide real-world experience through an internship, and welcome them back as full-time employees.

I wanted to work in agriculture, and my conversation with him just kind of turned into a real opportunity from there.”

Now, just a few years later, that vision is already taking shape.

As Build Dakota scholars, both Brody and Kailynn interned with Agtegra for at least one summer during college.

For both Kailynn and Brody, the opportunities that Jason presented them with through Agtegra made their next steps clearer.

“Build Dakota made it a lot easier to decide what I was going to do,” Brody said. “It really helped shape where I’m going with my career.”

Among some of the first Build Dakota scholars at Agtegra, two Woonsocket High School graduates are doing exactly what the program set out to achieve as they recently transitioned from students to fulltime employees as they build their careers close to home.

Brody first interned with Agtegra's precision ag team where he scouted crops with drone technology. After graduating college in 2025, Brody returned to Agtegra's Woonsocket location in agronomy operations and driving truck. In January 2026, he transitioned to a dispatcher/ warehouse operations role where he now helps coordinate dispatching for truck drivers and applicators while supporting daily operations at the Woonsocket warehouse.

Brody Miiller and Kailynn Eggleston both graduated high school in 2023 and started their respective college careers — Brody at Lake Area Technical College and Kailynn at Mitchell Technical College. But it was during high school where they first connected with Agtegra Area Manager Jason White and learned more about Agtegra and the Build Dakota program.

“I first met Jason when he volunteered to be a part of a mock job interview in one of our high school classes,” Kailynn said. “I knew

Kailynn's internship experience centered around agronomy operations. Over multiple summers, and even during the school year when she was not in class, she gained experience across several areas at Agtegra. Now in her fulltime agronomy operations role, she primarily focuses on seed deliveries

and seed treatment.

Jason notes the impact the Build Dakota program has had on the cooperative.

"To me, it's a win-win. It's great to be able to bring our local kids back to our small town and give them a reason to stay here," Jason said.

That sense of connection and belonging is something both Kailynn and Brody have felt firsthand at Agtegra.

“Everyone is so friendly. It feels like family,” Brody said.

For Kailynn, the work itself feels like a natural extension of her background and interests.

“It’s close to what I grew up doing, and I like the environment and the people,” she said. “It just felt like a good fit.”

In addition to Kailynn and Brody, four other Build Dakota scholars are working with Agtegra. Tristan Gosch, a precision ag specialist at Bowdle Innovation, and Jayden Assman, an applicator/operations at Kimball Agronomy, recently graduated from college. Tyson Eddy, a precision ag intern at Huron Innovation, and Zoey Morgan, a diesel technician intern at Ipswich Truck & Auto, are currently interning with Agtegra this summer.

REMOTE GRAIN DRYING Leveraging emerging technology to improve efficiency with remote grain drying capabilities

T

he high volume of grain received during harvest creates a fastpaced, busy environment, especially in wet years when continuous, around-the-clock drying is required to meet quality specifications. At Agtegra Cooperative, grain operations and IT teams are working together to meet that challenge head-on with innovative remote drying technology.

Grain dryers play a critical role in preserving grain quality by removing excess moisture to meet the moisture specifications required for storage and shipment. During last fall’s wet harvest, many Agtegra facilities were drying grain 24/7 to keep up with incoming volumes and maintain shipping schedules.

In 2025, Agtegra introduced remote grain drying to three of its grain facilities. By integrating monitors on the facility's programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and dryer screens, operators can now manage multiple dryers from a single location, all

from a few computer monitor screens.

“Instead of utilizing additional personnel to keep dryers running, we are able to use one person,” Agtegra Senior Project Manager Brent Haas said. “Especially during overnight shifts, it creates better balance while still getting the job done safely and effectively.”

Remote access allows Agtegra team members to monitor multiple facilities simultaneously through centralized screens, providing realtime insights into performance, temperature, airflow and safety conditions. Cameras inside the dryer cooling chamber add another layer of visibility, helping teams quickly identify potential fire hazards and debris buildup.

“Collaboration between IT and operations leadership was a key driver of implementing remote drying,” Ethan Taube, Agtegra VP, Operations – Operational Excellence, said. “We identified a need during our busiest times — overnight drying and shift changes — where safety and efficiency could be improved.

Drying was our pinch point. By integrating cameras and leveraging built-in safety systems like overheat protection and flow sensors, we’re able to operate more safely while maximizing resources.”

Currently, three Agtegra grain facilities have deployed remote drying technology. Based on the success of the 2025 drying season, additional locations are planned for future rollout.

Remote drying is just one example of how Agtegra continues to evolve

its operations. In recent years, the cooperative also implemented locomotive remote control technology, allowing a single operator to safely move trains directly from the grain loading area.

Because both the remote controls and elevator operations are located next to the loading platform, the operator has a clear line of sight, which helps ensure team members are in safe positions while improving both efficiency and safety during train loading.

Innovative technologies are paving the way for increased automation across the industry, and Agtegra is actively embracing these advancements. While human involvement remains essential, tools like remote grain drying and locomotive remote control are creating safer and more efficient ways for employees to work. Emerging solutions, such as autonomous railcar loading systems capable of opening, closing and sealing railcars, highlight where the industry is headed. At the same time, the ability to monitor and operate grain dryers remotely allows on-site teams to stay focused on supporting farmers, while others manage equipment performance from one spot, improving both productivity and overall operational flexibility.

At its core, remote drying reflects Agtegra’s commitment to doing more with less — streamlining processes and delivering value to our member-owners through forward-thinking innovation.

Brian Knifong

Named Senior Vice President of Agronomy A

gtegra Cooperative is pleased to announce and welcome Brian Knifong as its new Senior Vice President of Agronomy, effective July 1, 2026. In this role, Brian will lead the company’s agronomy strategy and drive innovative, customer-focused solutions. He will oversee all aspects of agronomy, including vendor-partner relationships, product portfolio management, procurement, sales and business development.

Brian joins the Agtegra executive leadership team with more than 30 years of experience in the ag industry and a strong background in agronomy, sales, marketing and executive leadership. He began his career with MFA (Missouri Farmers Association) in custom

application and sales, building a solid foundation in agronomy and customer relationships. Brian later worked for BASF before transitioning to Nutrien Ag Solutions in Loveland, Colorado, where he spent 20 years in several leadership roles, including Director of Marketing and Product Development for Loveland Products and, most recently, Head of Marketing and Customer Experience. In this role, he partnered closely with the North American sales team to drive value through optimized pricing strategies, integrated portfolio management, agronomically-driven product positioning and targeted grower programs.

Agtegra looks forward to the energy and passion Brian brings for inspiring sales teams and elevating

the customer experience. His people-first leadership style and proven track record of building collaborative, high-performing teams earned him recognition as the 2026 NAMA Agribusiness Leader of the Year.

Brian grew up in Missouri and attended the University of Central Missouri, where he met his wife, Amy. Together with their two children, they have built a life centered on faith, family and community.

FERTILIZER PRESSURE F

rom ongoing trade bottlenecks to rising global demand, the fertilizer market remains under pressure. Combined with low commodity prices, the high cost of fertilizer is causing many farmers to reevaluate their typical agronomy input and application rate decisions this year.

According to Agtegra Director of Crop Nutrition Jon Gilbert, those decisions are becoming increasingly strategic.

High input costs cause many farmers to rethink their fertilizer strategy. Jon’s recommendation?

Don’t skimp on starter fertilizer or nitrogen this year.

“Starter fertilizer maximizes the efficiency of nutrients. That fertilizer is placed right next to that seed, so the plant will utilize those first.

Agronomically, cutting nitrogen rates on corn is detrimental to yield.

There is a direct correlation between nitrogen and corn yields, and we just can’t afford to sacrifice that,” Jon said.

One of the most effective ways to stretch fertilizer investment is through soil testing, which provides a clear picture of nutrient levels and crop needs. Those results can then guide variable rate application, ensuring fertilizer is applied precisely where it’s needed — and not where it isn’t.

Agtegra agronomists work closely with farmers, utilizing our MZB platform, to coordinate soil testing and develop application plans tailored to each field.

“A targeted approach is key,” Jon said. “When prices are elevated, you want to make sure you’re applying fertilizer in the most efficient way possible.”

That reliability is supported by strategic investments across Agtegra’s footprint, particularly within its Prescription Agronomics division.

For farmers who reduced application rates this spring, there is still an opportunity to adjust.

In-season products can help fill nutrient gaps and support crop development through the summer months.

Based in Ipswich, South Dakota, Prescription Agronomics focuses on manufacturing starter fertilizers, which allows Agtegra to produce and customize products close to the farmers who use them.

“If the opportunity is there, we have products available that can supplement those reductions later in the season,” Jon added.

Timing fertilizer purchases has always been important, but in today’s volatile environment, it has become even more critical. Rather than focusing on a specific calendar date, Jon encourages farmers to watch the relationship between fertilizer and corn prices.

To further support farmers, Agtegra is expanding storage and distribution capabilities across its territory. In fall 2024, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced Agtegra as a recipient of a grant through the Fertilizer Production Expansion Program (FPEP). The grant enables awardees to increase or expand the manufacturing and processing of local fertilizer and nutrient alternatives for farmers.

“When that ratio is in a good range, that’s the time to buy,” he said.

“That’s something we work closely on with our agronomy team so they can help guide those decisions.”

With the help of this grant, Agtegra will be expanding its Prescription Agronomics business division soon by adding a container packaging line and liquid fertilizer storage tanks at three Agtegra locations.

Even as global conditions remain uncertain, reliability at the local level continues to matter.

“This expansion will make it much easier to serve our growers,” Jon said.

“We pride ourselves on being a reliable supplier of fertilizer and having a price for the customer every day,” Jon said.

While market volatility continues to challenge farmers, Agtegra’s agronomy team is focused on helping farmers make informed, practical decisions — whether that’s maximizing efficiency, adjusting application plans, or securing reliable fertilizer supply throughout the season.

Keep your propane tank level It is important that your propane tank is level at all times and placed on a concrete pad or solid concrete blocks, not wood.

Update your tank regulator Propane tank regulators should be updated every 20 years. If you are unsure of the age of your regulator, reach out to Agtegra Propane to have a service technician help you identify its age.

Turn tank off in the event of an emergency Smell propane? Turn the shut-off valve to the right to turn the tank off, and call emergency services. The shut-off valve is located under the tank dome. Have an underground tank? Lift the access cover to find the valve.

White is the preferred tank color Dark-colored tanks absorb more sunlight than light colors, which creates higher pressure.

See any pitting or rusting on your tank? Painting over these spots can help prolong the life of your tank.

Follow tank setback guidelines Most tanks should have a 10-foot setback from structures and a 25-foot setback for tank setups that hold more than 1,200 gallons. No combustible items should be around tanks.

Clear snow away Ensure that there is a clear path to your tank before it is filled. Clear your regulator screen of snow and ice often.

Spotlight

ANDY WEISSER F

arming has always been Andy Weisser’s dream job. The Roscoe, South Dakota, farmer and Agtegra Cooperative director knew he would one day follow in his dad’s and grandfather’s footsteps on the family farm.

“In kindergarten, I knew more about tractors and their horsepower than a typical kid should,” Andy said. “I was Grandpa’s right-hand man, and we spent a lot of time working together in tractors.”

Andy’s grandfather moved to the Roscoe area in the 1950s to start farming.

“You don’t see folks starting from nothing quite like he did anymore,” Andy said. “He was told he wasn’t going to make it farming, and now that’s exactly what fuels me to keep going. Being told I’m not going to be able to do something just drives me to prove people wrong.”

After graduating from high school, Andy studied ag production at Lake Area Technical College before returning to farm alongside his dad and grandfather. The house his grandfather built in the 1950s is the same home Andy lives in today — purchased along with his first half section of land in 2001. Andy and his wife, Heather, have raised their four children — Grant, Kayden, Karlie, and Weston — on the farm.

Over the years, the operation transitioned from Andy’s grandfather to his dad, and now to Andy and his brother, Austin.

Together, Andy and Austin run a 400-head commercial cow/calf operation, background calves and manage row crop acres. Their dad still helps with day-to-day operations, and Andy’s kids lend a hand as their schedules allow.

Becoming a director for his local cooperative wasn’t something Andy initially planned. But that same curiosity and drive pushed him to learn more about Agtegra’s governance and find a way to get involved. He was elected to Agtegra’s delegate council in 2014 and later to the board of directors in 2021.

Andy’s involvement has also shaped how he approaches safety, both at the cooperative level and on his own farm.

In addition to his work with Agtegra’s governance, Andy serves his community as assistant chief of the Roscoe Fire Department.

“Sometimes on the farm, we get used to doing things a certain way without thinking about the hazards,” he said. “My perspective has completely changed after seeing how Agtegra prioritizes safety and

Andy’s oldest son, Grant, works as an applicator at Agtegra’s Bowdle location. While Andy knows Grant may return to the family farm someday, he’s encouraged him to gain experience in agronomy and the business side of agriculture first.

Similarly, Andy recognized he wouldn’t gain a full understanding of the cooperative without stepping forward and getting involved himself.

“How do you make a farmerowned cooperative better?”

Andy said. “By getting involved, whether that’s becoming a delegate or serving on the board. I wish more farmers would take a step back and see how a co-op really works.”

FARM BILL

U.S. House of Representatives Passes 2026 Farm Bill.

O

n April 30, 2026, the House of Representatives passed the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026, also known as the farm bill or H.R. 7567. The bill is now moving to the Senate for consideration.

The U.S. House Agriculture Committee had initially passed the bill out of committee in early March. U.S. Rep. Dusty Johnson, a member of the committee, had secured a provision in the farm bill — the Agricultural Cooperative Energy Savings (ACES) Act — that strengthens farmer cooperatives’ access to the Rural Energy for America Program (REAP).

WHAT IS THE FARM BILL? The farm bill is a multiyear collection of laws that govern food, agriculture and rural policies. Based on each farm bill’s expiration date, Congress reevaluates these policies and

programs every few years as they work to write new versions of the farm bill. Prior to the 2026 version, the last version that had passed Congress was the 2018 farm bill.

When Congress approved legislation to end the government shutdown last November, the measure also included a one year extension of the 2018 farm bill. This is the second extension of that bill, giving additional time for work on a new version ahead of the next deadline on September 30, 2026.

The 2026 farm bill reauthorizes through FY2031 and modifies Department of Agriculture programs that address the following topics: • Commodity Support • Conservation • Trade And International Food Aid • Nutrition Assistance • Farm Credit • Rural Development

The 2026 farm bill is currently waiting to be placed on the Senate Agriculture Committee’s agenda.

Once the committee passes a version of the bill, it will move to the Senate floor. After the Senate passes the bill, a joint (House and Senate) conference committee will negotiate the differences between the House’s version and the Senate’s. The final, compromised bill will have to pass both the House and the Senate again before going to the president to be signed into law.

2026 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS Agtegra Cooperative awarded $1,000 scholarships to 10 high school seniors and two current college students for the 2026-2027 school year. All recipients are attending a post-secondary institution in North Dakota or South Dakota this fall and plan to pursue a career in agriculture upon graduation. Congratulations to our recipients!
