Launches new tanker dribble bar range

SlurryKat in Northern Ireland has further stamped its mark on the slurry spreading industry with a brand new range of budget farm line dribble bars.

Already firmly established as market leaders in slurry handling equipment and pioneers of the dribble bar system, SlurryKat has now launched a new affordable range designed specifically for farmers.

This new range further adds to the company’s existing ‘two-line’ market approach, consisting of premium ‘pro-line’ products, designed for contractors and larger intensive farmers, as well as a more basic ‘farm line’ budget range of equipment.

This approach has been very well received in the market over the past few years according to SlurryKat CEO Garth Cairns.

He said: “We now have a product for everyone with premium and basic spec products from a

shear grab to a slurry tanker.”

Having launched the range of Panterra tankers almost a year ago, Mr Cairns added: “The Panterra tankers have been an amazing success for us in the past 12 months or so and we continue to build on this success with continuous product development, helping to give our customers the best market leading farm equipment at affordable prices.”

Features of the new dribble bar range demonstrate the usual high manufacturing quality expected from SlurryKat. There are two models available in the more popular 7.5m and 9m working widths.

Other innovative features include spring loaded booms that automatically reset, if they accidentally come into contact with an obstacle such as a post during operation, therefore preventing damage.

The dribble bars use a Vogelsang macerator/distributor, the same unit as used in the other premium dribble bars lines from SlurryKat, to ensure perfect spreading distribution across the entire width.

The units are also 50 per cent lighter to eliminate any balance issues when fitted to existing tankers.

“The new dribble bars can be fitted to any tanker without the need for a rear hydraulic linkage, which saves costs and unwanted weight,” said Mr Cairns.

The new dribble bar range coincides with the recent launch of the Farm Modernisation Grant scheme in Northern Ireland where farmers can benefit from financial assistance of dribble bars fitted to their existing tanker or as a complete new tanker and dribble bar unit.

Prices start at £6750 for the 7.5m model.

Rewards fuel efficiency

As of November 2016, new owners of John Deere 7310R tractors are eligible to participate in a programme that rewards customers financially for fuel-efficient driving on the road.

The Fuel Guarantee Programme is designed to offer a special incentive to customers for limiting or even reducing the fuel consumption of their tractor in transport mode. It applies to any new 7310R model ordered by 30 April 2017.

“As approximately 50 per cent of the cost of ownership is spent on fuel, we want to encourage customers to proactively monitor their tractor’s fuel consumption,” says Chris Wigger, Deere’s Region 2 vice president sales & marketing.

“The capabilities of JDLink and our network of specialist dealers will enable operators to track their machine usage and fuel efficiency when in transport mode. This is one of the key benefits of our FarmSight precision farming approach.”

Once the customer signs up to the programme, he and his supplying dealer will use JDLink to record the tractor’s actual fuel consumption in transport mode during the first full year of ownership. If the total fuel consumption has exceeded the John Deere target level, customers will be refunded by the company.

If the tractor consumes less than the targeted amount, owners of more efficient machines will still be rewarded, as they will be reimbursed twice the price per litre saved. Depending on the amount of transport work carried out through the year, this could mean a cash refund worth up to four figures.

John Deere takes its responsibility to the environment very seriously. Combined with the lower fuel consumption of 7R Series tractors, the new Fuel Guarantee Programme is aiming to make a significant contribution to reducing emissions – which is good news for the environment.

KUHN Farm Machinery has updated the spreading module on its range of AXIS fertiliser spreaders with a new system that is capable of making infinite spreading pattern adjustments.

The new VARISPREAD DYNAMIC spreading module replaces the KUHN VS 8 system which limited spreading section control across eight sections (four spreading to the left, four spreading to the right).

The new system uses fast-acting electrical actuators to continuously alter and adjust the spreading unit’s drop points, outlet positions and disc rotation speed on hydraulically driven machines. By altering these three attributes, the VARISPREAD DYNAMIC module can produce an infinitely adjustable spreading pattern across the machine’s entire working width.

The actuators operate at high speed for improved spreading accuracy and can produce an accurate spreading pattern even when working at high forward operating speeds. The new system can be controlled either manually or via GPS to prevent over-spreading at field margins.

The new VARISPREAD DYNAMIC system is available as standard on KUHN’s AXIS 40.2 M EMC W and AXIS 50.2 M EMC W machines and can be operated via KUHN’s QUANTRON A or E-2 control units. The VARISPREAD DYNAMIC system can also be used in conjunction with all major GPS positioning and guidance systems.

The VARISPREAD 4 spreading module with four controllable sections (two spreading to the left, two spreading to the right) remains available on KUHN’s MDS 19.1 Q, AXIS 20.2 W, AXIS 40.2 W and AXIS 20.2 M EMC W machines, and can also be specified on the AXIS 40.2 M EMC W.

New McCormick X7.650 Pro drive delivers six-cylinder power and refinement

Demonstration examples of a new six-cylinder tractor added to the McCormick X7 Pro Drive range are now available at a number of McCormick dealerships for farmers and contractors to try out the newcomer’s combination of six-cylinder power, tough cast chassis and spacious Premiere cabin for size.

The McCormick X7.650 Pro Drive extends a range that goes from rated speed outputs of 135hp to 188hp and maxes out at 212hp with Power Plus boost on the top model. The newcomer slots in with 152hp from its 6.7-litre engine at rated speed, climbing to a peak output of 160hp for all operations.

It is available with the new Efficient specification introduced for the four-cylinder and smallest six-cylinder models in the current range and also in a Premium version with enhanced features and a wider choice of performance-orientated options.

“We already have the X7.450 Pro Drive four-cylinder tractor with the same peak power and torque as the new

model,” notes Paul Wade, product specialist at AgriArgo UK, the McCormick distributor for Great Britain. “But many operators like the characteristics of a six-cylinder tractor, including the added stability for operating heavy mounted implements that comes with the 150mm longer wheelbase and additional 410kg in weight from the cast chassis and bigger engine.”

When equipped to the new Efficient specification, the new model will also appeal to operators of MTX and XTX tractors of similar size and power, especially as it represents less of a jump in technology and price than the Premium version.

“The MTX150 was always one of our best-selling tractors, so I’m sure operators thinking of making a change will take a close look at the Efficient X7.650 Pro Drive,” says Paul Wade. “It will also be a candidate for operators with the popular MC135 Power6 wanting a more powerful tractor for increased productivity with modern features but limited high-tech electronics.”

The newcomer’s BetaPower engine, built to McCormick specification by FPT Industrial with a highly fuel-efficient SCR emissions control package, develops 152hp at 2200rpm rated speed.

But the power curve rises from that point as revs are pulled down under increasing load to a peak of 160hp at 1900rpm, while maximum torque of 676Nm is reached at just 1500rpm.

Operators can exploit these characteristics by shifting up to load the engine for maximum power, knowing that increasing reserves of torque are available to pull the tractor through tough areas of soil when ploughing or cultivating, or to climb an incline with trailed or pto-driven equipment.

A four-speed power take-off package is standard, providing ‘power’ and ‘economy’ gearing to suit different applications, plus the opportunity to fit a 1000rpm pto drive with the optional 3500kg front hitch.

TGB Taiwan has announced that Dualways Limited has been appointed as the new TGB ATV Distributor for the UK and Ireland from the 1st of July 2016.

TGB is well established as one of the world`s leading manufacturers of ATVs and scooters. With its headquarters and primary production facilities in Taiwan, TGB offers a range of outstanding products that are designed, developed and produced to the highest standards to meet the varied and exacting demands of an international market.

The TGB ATV range includes models from 425cc up to an 83bhp 1000cc V-twin that is certain to catch the interest of the large capacity XC and beachrace riders as well as the heavy-duty work sector.

With dealer and customer support networks in over 50 countries, the TGB ATV range has already hit the mark with European riders, and boasts class-leading sales in Germany and France.

Dualways Limited operates from a 51,000 sq ft warehouse and office facility in the Midlands. The company directors have over 30 years combined experience in the ATV import and distribution industry and maintains a team of experienced dealer support staff and specialist technicians.

In 2016, Dualways will be investing heavily in the further development of the TGB

brand via a combination of both traditional and online advertising. Eventure, an experienced online marketing agency, has been appointed to develop and implement the TGB awareness campaign alongside the new TGB ATV website.
