INDUSTRY MOVES Recent senior job moves within the global animal nutrition industry

Dr. Wade Robey has been promoted to President of AMLAN INTERNATIONAL, the feed-grade minerals business of Oil-Dri Corporation of America. Dan Jaffee, formerly the President and GM of Amlan, will continue to serve as President and CEO of Oil-Dri.

Andrew Campbell, formerly of AKVA Group, has become CEO of aqua feeding technology company AQ1, according to Biomar, which acquired Aq1 in spring 2022. Founder Ross Dodd will stay on in an executive role.

The Supervisory Board of BASF SE extended the appointment of Dr. Martin Brudermüller as BASF’s Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors until the end of the 2024 Annual Shareholders’ Meeting; Brudermüller’s appointment was originally scheduled to end in 2023.

Matthias Dohrn has assumed responsibility for BASF’s Global Procurement division. He is currently responsible for the Battery Base Metals & Recycling unit and succeeds Stefano Pigozzi, who has retired.

Dirk Westphal has taken on the role of Managing Director of BERG+ SCHMIDT FEED, a German company making functional lipids.

CARGILL announced its Chief Operating Officer Brian Sikes has been elected President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective Jan. 1, 2023. Sikes will succeed Dave MacLennan, who will assume the role of Executive Chair of Cargill’s Board of Directors. And in other Cargill news, Gilles Houdart has been appointed Global Business Director Feed Additives.

France’s CCPA GROUP appointed François Pellet as Group CEO on 1 November. Pellet’s career has included work at Hubbard, Provimi Group, and Adisseo, as well as a previous stint in CCPA.

EVONIK announced that Maike Schuh will succeed Ute Wolf as CFO, effective April 1, 2023.

Brad Wittig was appointed Managing Partner at FNF INGREDIENTS CANADA INC., a position starting on Dec. 1. Wittig’s role will include the establishment of a permanent Canadian presence for the business. The supervisory board of FORFARMERS N.V. nominated Theo Spierings as Chief Executive Officer and member of the Executive Board of ForFarmers for a period of one year; this appointment requires a general shareholders meeting, scheduled for mid-January.

Ralf Finzel was named Executive Vice President and Global Operations Officer of IFF in November. He succeeds Francisco Fortanet, who is leaving the company.

UK-based feed and pet foods flavouring company INROADS INTERNATIONAL has appointed Brian Gittings as Sales Manager for North America.

KEMIN INDUSTRIES has added Dr. Jason Shelton to the Kemin Nutrisurance leadership team as Global Vice President of Research and Development for the company’s pet food and rendering technologies business unit.

Andrijus Savčukas has been appointed as the new general manager of Lithuanian phosphates company LIFOSA. Savčukas served as a member of Lifosa’s board from 2015 – 2020, and has made his career in the fertilizer industry.

Alanna McDonald joined MARS PETCARE as the Regional President for its Mars Pet Nutrition division in North America on November 21, following the appointment of Ikdeep Singh as Global President for Mars Pet Nutrition in May.

MAZEN ANIMAL HEALTH, INC., announced the hiring of Tracy Raines, Ph.D., as Vice President of Research and Development. Mazen is developing and commercializing orally delivered corn-based animal vaccines.

Kurt Wegleitner was appointed the new Managing Director (MD) of German feed additive company PHYTOBIOTICS FUTTERZUSATZSTOFFE GMBH on 1 November.

David Blakemore joined Nutreco and its Management Board as CEO of TROUW NUTRITION, the company’s livestock feed business. Blakemore was formerly a member of the DSM Leadership Team.
