Welcome to Ruzicka Farms Ltd. We are a third and fourth generation family farm. This past year had a few big changes as we added Emmitt Michael Louis to our family, rounding out our total to six. They are 15, 14, 11, 9, 8 and 5 months and they all have been more than helpful in the past year learning to do more things especially when mom couldn’t or if dad was working. We are grateful that they grow each year and so does their responsibilities and they have risen to those expectations. The th older five are again in 4-H this year and have chosen steers and females from the same sires as these bulls. As you can see in our photo collage the kids did well with their last years projects. We again have a larger group of bulls this year with mostly new sire groups that we are equally as excited about seeing them work for our customers. We have th captured more photos of dams and udders to show how much we really think of our cow families and you can see in the footnotes that some are related on the maternal side, showing how strong some cow families truly are. We would not be able to do it all without the help of our family. From babysitting, to feeding cows or checking pastures or running kids to hockey our parents and siblings are great supports. We also had our nephew Wyatt doing work experience with us this fall and helped out lots with harvest and feeding as well. This is our fourth Online Farm Gate Auction. We have really appreciated the positive feedback and the return customers with this format. The open house at the farm will be March 7-8, 2024 in conjunction with our online sale. Visitors are more than welcome to stop anytime for a tour of the bulls and their dams. The bulls are fed a TMR daily complete with mineral. They have a few acres to roam around to ensure they are getting plenty of exercise. All bulls will be semen tested prior to the sale. Please ensure you are registered with DLMS prior to sale day. Full terms and conditions of the Farmgate style auction are on the DLMS website as well as the catalogue, videos, and up to date weights and scrotal measurements. Bulls must be paid for within 1 week of the sale via cheque, cash or etransfer. Bulls picked up within 2 weeks of the sale with receive at $50 discount. Rancher’’s Choice Rancher Sale Information HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE DLMS FARM GATE TIMED AUCTION WITH EXTENDED BIDDING: 1.Visit dlms.ca and follow the link to the DLMS FarmGate timed auction site www.farmgatetimedauctions.ca, click the LOGIN/REGISTRATION button. First time users will select the REGISTER button from this page. Fill out the registration form to signup for a free user account and it allows you to select a username and password for use on all Farm Gate Timed auctions. This program will send you text and email messages whenever there is activity on your favorite lots or someone challenges your proxy bid and this is why you will be asked for both your current email and cell phone number. If you are a past participant in the Farm Gate Timed auctions simply enter your user name and password to continue. This takes you to a list of both current and upcoming Farm Gate Auctions. 2. When we get to the close out end time the clock for close extends with any bid placed with less than 5 min on the clock. This type of extended bidding turns the end time to more of a soft time. Extended bidding allows bidders to compete in lots like a real auction and give all bidders the same time to make a decision. We acquired Jumangi at the beginning of our 2022 breeding season from Redrich Farms. We were impressed by his pronounced masculinity, strong top, exceptional hair coat and easy fleshing ability. This is our first group of calves from him and we ere very impressed. They calved easy, are extra in length and have continued to impress us. They are big footed, easy fleshing cattle that are genuinely solid in their make up. We are very happy with the replacements and look forward to them coming into milk next spring.

He calved so easy that we tried him on a few heifers this year. They are moderate framed animals with lots of volume, muscle mass and structural soundness

We purchased a semen package to use on our heifers for something different. He calves very well and we used him on red and black heifers getting solid calves and some blazed faces. The heifer calves averaged 72.5Lbs and the bull calves 69Lbs. They had lots of vigor and we used him again this year.

They are moderate in frame, have balanced udders and are good footed. We used him heavily on heifers years ago and loved that we could could use him on red and blacks with confidence.

A very complete heifer package. He is super wide topped with lots of hip, and a smooth shoulder tying up into a nice sweet head. This is our son Garrett’s first bull and he’s pretty proud of him. For being out of a first calf heifer and an end of February birthdate he isn’t slacking in the performance department. We always wait for the anticipated calf from 2E!! She is a very capacious female with a nice tight udder, loose hide and still maintaining a sharp front end. Berwick is a twin to 78L. That was a lot of calf for our 17A cow to birth. He was raised on another cow and boy did she do a great job. 17A is known for adding more length into her calves. We really admire this dark red Jumangi bull for his style, completeness and most importantly his dam. Bravestone is one of those bulls you look at and just know he’s solid. These dark red bulls just keep coming. Jumangi truly stamps his coloring on his calves and we are certainly happy with the consistency. Fortress is out of a great up and coming second calver. 42H has a nice tight udder, feminine front end and a strong maternal pedigree. She has the same maternal side as JLA 44L steming back to the great 11U cow that gave us only a few females as she was a true bull maker. We are excited to watch this young cow grow into her own. This dark red is so eye appealing he’s hard to look away from. Billingsley stems back to my first ever Simmental cow and we have come far. He is long bodied, deep flanked, full in through his heart with lots of masculinity and testicle. A low birth weight of 71 Lbs and then coming off the cow at 778lbs is some great ADG. This super dark red Jumangi son is 10G’s last off spring as we lost her last spring. This was Sara-Jane’s only cow but she really likes her bull calves.
