NPHC X MGC HUMP NIGHT

On Wednesday, October 29 NPHC and MGC hosted a joint Hump Night Hump Night is a tradition within Greek-letter organizations to socialize and showcase various strolls from all the different chapters th

Members were encouraged to wear costumes and bring canned goods to be donated to the Mays Pocket Pantry There was a total of 250 items donated!

ORDER OF OMEGA

Our Kappa Rho chapter of the Order of Omega Greek Honor Society hosted initiation for 31 new members in late October!

At the first general body meeting the executive board shared all the exciting initiatives being planned for the academic year. Their first event was a profit share at Andy’s which money to be donated to the Sexual Assault Resource Center (SARC).

ADVISOR SPOTLIGHT: JAMES PALACIOS

James Palacios ‘17 graduated from Texas A&M with a Bachelors of Science in Agricultural Communications and Journalism, and in 2019 he received a Master of Public Service and Administration.

Currently, he serves as the Program Manager for three different Policy Internship

Programs These policy programs connect students to real world policy makers in Washington, D.C., Austin, and abroad.

James is the advisor for Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity, and one of his greatest rewards of advising is seeing the suggestions and advice he provides take shape. Additionally, he enjoys seeing the organization grow both personally and professionally

In his free time, he is very involved volunteering in the Bryan-College Station community, and as chair of a Brazos County A&M Club Coaches Night!

UNIVERSITY HEALTH SERVICES:

HEALTHY MEMBERS MAKE HEALTHY CHAPTERS

Our November advisor workshop was an overview of University Health Services (UHS). This presentation will introduce advisors to the wide range of medical, mental health, and wellness resources available through UHS.

More About our Presenter:

Ally Norris is a Graduate Assistant with Texas A&M University Health Services on the Prevention and Population Health team. She is pursuing a Master of Public Health in Health Behavior and is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) Ally is passionate about promoting college health through engaging education and prevention programs that empower students to make informed decisions.

NPHC UPDATES

NPHC has had an eventful month They partnered with the National Association of Black Accountants for a professional development opportunity. Members of the community also gave a campus tour to students from the Woodlands chapter of Jack and Jill The council finished the month with a volunteer opportunity at Bryan Headstart, their local community partner!

CPC UPDATES

MGC UPDATES

MGC hosted MGC week October 20-24 to celebrate the MGC and highlight the Council across campus Some events hosted were Coffee & Costumes, Loteria Night, Pie an Exec, and their annual MGC Fall Fest! The community also hosted a canned food drive to support the 12 Can Overall, MGC donated over 380lbs of food to support Aggies in need!

IFC UPDATES

Trick or Treat on Greek Street was a huge success this year! It was wonderful to see all four councils collaborating to make the night special. The chapters pulled out all the stops, completely transforming their spaces with decorations and welcoming the community with open arms. From spooky yard games to mountains of candy, it was a truly festive and fun-filled evening for all participants!

IFC L.E.A.D. is an opportunity for aspiring and emerging leaders across the council to engage in a series of workshops and hands-on learning to prepare them to take on a leadership role in their chapter or the council Workshops ranged from risk management to communicating with headquarters.
