NMGC PHC Intake is conducted by the individual chapters based on approval. It can occur in the fall or spring semesters. Most organizations require students to have sophomore status to be eligible for membership.
MGC chapters will host individual recruitment or rush weeks each semester and select new members through an application or interview process. Most chapters bring in members in the fall and spring semester. at the national organization's website. Look up the history of the organization and their values (motto, purpose, and mission). out the requirements are for undergraduate membership (e.g. GPA, credit hours, service, recommendation letters). that being a member of these organizations extends beyond graduation, so it's important for you to find an organization that fits your own personal values. the chapter and national organization on social media Attend organization events. Ask questions about what the organization is looking for in a member
Ask member to lunch/coffee Express interest in the values of the organization, not just the fun side of Greek culture (stepping/strolling) Tell someone you trust about your feelings (if they are a member). If you're still nervous, stop by and talk to the council advisor for advice!
Know what experiences and accomplishments that align with the organization's goals and what you can bring to the organization. Remember, these organizations will help you be a better version of yourself.
It is best to approach members in private or at a closed event. Don't bring it up at a social event or a place that's crowded
Beprepared Organizations are looking for new members that have an understanding, appreciation and respect for the organization. They are looking for candidates that exemplify the organization's values and who will uphold their standards, contribute to their mission and purpose, and be a positive addition to the chapter (adapted from UNCW).
