Thank you

Thank you for your interest in Age Scotland and learning more about leaving a gift in your Will. As the only charity dedicated to supporting older people across Scotland, you've come to the right place for advice and guidance on how to make a lasting difference for older people.

In this guide, we provide helpful information on how leaving a gift to Age Scotland could make a significant difference to our work, improving the lives of older people in Scotland for generations to come.

Legacies are vital in funding our work. Each year, over half of our donated income comes from generous individuals who kindly leave a gift to us in their Will. These incredible gifts are essential in enabling us to plan for the future and allow us to ensure no one faces the challenges of older age alone. By 2047, 44% of the Scottish population will be over 50 and the number of people aged 65 and over is projected to grow by almost one quarter.

With a predicted growth in Scotland’s ageing population, our services will continue to be a lifeline for older people for future generations to come.

Thank you for considering Age Scotland as part of your legacy, and for helping us make a lasting difference to the lives of older people in Scotland.

Improve the lives of older people in Scotland for generations to

come

We’ve been supporting older people for over 80 years - first as the Scottish Older People’s Welfare Committee, then as Age Concern Scotland and Help the Aged Scotland.

In 2009, these charities merged to become Age Scotland. As a homogeneous group, and with an ageing population, older people will continue to need our support for the next 80 years and beyond.

If you’re looking to leave a gift that supports older people in Scotland, it's important Age Scotland is named in the Will to ensure that is the case.

Our regional teams support more than 500 local community groups for older people nationwide.
