CEO’S MESSAGE
The past 12 months have marked an important chapter in the history of AGC Georgia as we completed a thoughtful transition at the CEO level and honored Mike Dunham upon his retirement. STEADY HANDS
As we navigated a leadership transition, AGC Georgia has remained grounded in our core functions, consistent member service and thoughtful planning that addressed our immediate needs while positioning us for what’s ahead.
Our principles of Skill, Integrity and Responsibility guided decision–making and reinforced a culture of collaboration and trust across the association.
We strengthened staff capacity, refined programs and delivered a high level of service statewide. We continued to focus on the key areas of connection, safety, advocacy, education and workforce development.
This report highlights the outcomes of that work. Each reflects the collaboration of our members and staff, whose shared commitment ensures AGC Georgia remains relevant, resilient and responsive in a changing industry.
We are thankful for the steady hands that have guided us for almost 100 years, and we are confident that a strong future awaits us.

In all years, we work to be one of the most trusted voices for the construction industry available to lawmakers. Our strategy includes building strong relationships with elected officials and their staffs, testifying before legislative committees, advising regulatory officials, collaborating with other industry and business-minded associations and supporting political leaders throughout the state. When elected officials have questions about commercial construction in Georgia, we provide the answers. This section of the 2026 Report to Members will highlight our work during the past year.

DEVELOPING LEADERS
Leadership strength comes from continually developing people who are ready to take the next step.
AGC Georgia is committed to helping grow leaders at all levels of your organization, and we have developed programs and experiences that help them test their leadership skills in practical, meaningful ways. Professional development begins with technical skills, whether that is reading blueprints or managing a million–dollar budget.
AGC Georgia provides training for our general contractors, specialty contractors, industry suppliers and service providers. In addition, we promote leadership training for young professionals and senior executives who ultimately will take leadership roles as owners or CEOs. This section of the 2026 Report to Members focuses on our leadership training efforts during the past year.
When talented, ambitious senior construction leaders want to enhance their skills in c-suite positions, how do they learn what they need to know and develop the skills of successful leaders?
That’s easy – the Executive Alliance of AGC Georgia. This highly popular program allows program members to engage in education, collaboration and high-level networking during each calendar year, focusing on varied themes for three leadership retreats. Speakers are chosen for their ability to challenge members with new perspectives.
In the past year, leadership retreats have focused on the role culture plays in a company and how to build a strong, positive culture, as well as how senior executives can become talent magnets. Other topics include a review of financial knowledge and the value of mentorship.

Beyond professional development, however, YLP is a cornerstone of AGC Georgia’s commitment to community service. Program participants lead major fundraising efforts and volunteer their construction expertise to support a wide range of causes that benefit children, students, families, and veterans throughout the state.

CHAMPIONING WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
For many years, AGC Georgia has recognized the increasing need to recruit, train and retain a skilled construction workforce and has worked to present our industry as a career possibility to previously untapped talent. Today, we see significant opportunity in the next generation entering the workforce. They are often referred to as “Generation Toolbelt” because they are attracted to careers that combine traditional, hands-on skills with current technology.
We have expanded our Skills Challenges for high school students, as well as introduced construction education in elementary and middle schools so students can explore construction as a career choice early. We are encouraged by the growing impact of women in construction and are working to support and encourage construction careers for women and other nontraditional groups. Our outreach has grown, and this section of the 2026 Report to Members highlights our efforts in this area.

BUILDING YOUR NETWORK
If you ask veteran leaders in the construction industry what has made their careers successful, most of them will mention the friends and colleagues they have made along the way. Their work friends helped them find jobs and solve problems, but they also reached out during times of trouble and great happiness.
Friends make work fun, but most people often don’t prioritize “building a network.” Fortunately, this doesn’t have to be a chore. AGC Georgia provides many social functions allowing members to interact in relaxed, fun places, and the events often include families. Every educational session, volunteer opportunity or committee meeting, also allows members to get to know their peers. This section of the 2026 Report to Members shows the range of opportunities available for members to build a network.
