MALACHI J. AGAPE ALUMNI CLASS OF 2022 GEORGIA TECH JUNIOR
Malachi Johnson has been part of the Agape family since first grade, growing into a remarkable scholar, mentor, and leader. Throughout high school, he spoke at community forums, helped peers strengthen their study habits, and taught chess to middle school students, always lifting others as he climbed. Now a first-generation college student and rising third-year Computer Science major at Georgia Tech, Malachi continues to inspire. In 2025, he was selected from more than 5,000 applicants for NVIDIA’s prestigious Ignite internship program, which supports underrepresented students in technology. From May to August, Malachi worked in Santa Clara, California, as a software engineer on the system software team, contributing to projects for NVIDIA’s Shield device and presenting his work to teams of engineers. The experience deepened his interest in cybersecurity, expanded his professional network, and strengthened his confidence in navigating the tech industry. As he returns to Georgia Tech, Malachi’s journey stands as a powerful example of what’s possible when discipline, curiosity, and opportunity come together, proof that with heart and support, the next generation can achieve extraordinary things. “College has been a journey filled with both opportunity and challenge. As a first-generation college student, I’ve had to navigate unfamiliar systems on my own. I’ve faced physical setbacks with my ankle, leaned on mentors, and grown into new responsibilities—all while staying focused on what I came here to do. But the truth is, I didn’t do it alone. Agape gave me the tools and values that kept me grounded—discipline, community, and resilience. It gave me a second home and people who believed in me long before I believed in myself.”
