GLYCYRRHETIC ACID

Glycyrrhetic ( or glycyrrhetinic ) acid is extracted from licorice. Licorice has several properties that are useful for cosmetic applications. They include skin whitening property, anti-inflammatory property, antioxidant property.

VITAMIN E It is used in a variety of personal care and hygiene products as a skin conditioning agent and an antioxidant; it also offers protection from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays. Many of the signs of aging and skin damage that people commonly suffer from are the result from free radicals. These alter natural skin oils and dampen the production of collagen. Vitamin E helps combat this by protecting collagen levels.

MACADAMIA BUTTER This tropical butter, derived from the seeds, used in skin-care products, offers exceptional performances in a variety of actions: it has anti-wrinkle properties, act as a barrier repair, it is a perfect emollient and moisturizer, which leave the skin smooth and protected.

THE ROSE MOSQUETA PHENOMENON Rosa Mosqueta, also known as Rosehip, is a wild rose shrub, which grows in South America, particularly in the unspoiled Andean part of Chile. Its bioactive nutrients are vital in tissue regeneration; it is valued as an excellent emollient, and in neutralizing free radicals, responsible for accelerating the ageing process.

Rosehip oil is highly efficient in minimizing stretch-marks and scars, as well as in easing sunburn and pigmentation marks.

PAPAIN Papain is a digestive enzyme, collected from the papaya fruit. Papain has the ability to digest dead cells without affecting the sorrounding living tissue. It is used as the active ingredient in enzymatic preparations ( peelings, lotions, etc. ). It contains 212 amino acids and it is also rich in malic acid and AHAs.

BROMELAIN Bromelain is the proteolytic enzyme found in pineapple. Pineapple has a long tradition as a medicinal plant among the native people of South America and Central America. Extracts from the heart and stem of the pineapple plant were made into pulp and were applied to wounds and skin injuries to reduce inflammation. Bromelain, the bioactive ingredient of the pineapple, was first isolated in 1891 and was introduced as a therapeutic supplement in 1957. It has anti-inflammatory, anti-oedemic and anti-platelet condensation properties. Used in dermo-cosmetic preparations, it is known to have an excellent sebum-regulator activity.

SALYCYLIC ACID Salicylic acid, a Beta-Hydroxy-Acid, is a highly effective superficial peeling agent, oil reducer and pore cleanser. Salicylic Acid is derived from Willow Bark. Due to its molecule, larger than Alpha-Hydroxy-Acid, Salicylic Acid works more effectively on the skin's surface. It also works by exfoliating aging cells, dirt and debris on the skin surface. By removing the superficial dead cells, new cells growth is stimulated resulting in younger, healthier cells appearing on the surface.

Beta-hydroxy-acid appears to be less irritating than alpha-hydroxy-acid. This occurs because salicylic acid is derived from acetylsalycilic acid ( aspirin ), retaining many of its anti-inflammatory properties.

GRAPE SEED EXTRACT Vitis Vinifera is the European variety of the botanical family of Vitaceae. It might be Sativa ( cultivated ) or Silvestris ( wild ). Cultured for fruit, eaten fresh or processed into wine, raisins, juice, it has been used in folk medicine as a remedy for various skin diseases. Its main properties are astringent, cooling, laxative, and its fruits are said to be active even against some types of tumours.Fruits contain malic, tartaric and racemid acids. Grape-seeds contain polyphenols, which increase the blood vessels resistance, thus stimulating the oxygen exchange among blood and cells.
