AFTON CHEMICAL’S SUPPLY SERVICE OFFER Introduction

At Afton Chemical we believe that supply chain efficiency and continuous service improvements are tangible and provide valuable benefits to our customers. In developing this Supply Services document it is our intention to continually improve the quality of service to all our customers.

This document defines our standard service offer included in our sales price and available from all of our shipping facilities, as well as a range of additional services which enables you to tailor supply arrangements to meet your specific needs.

This clear focus on our standard offer will give you a more consistent level of service that you can rely on and, through simplifying our planning and scheduling, will allow us to adapt the level of that service to you.

By offering additional services we aim to give you the opportunity for a more flexible and personalised service, whilst communicating the impact on cost and operations that some of these solutions may have.

No Waiver Policy

Afton Chemical operates a no waiver policy on supply of all products. Afton Chemical will not ship products that do not meet mutually agreed upon specifications, analysed by mutually agreed upon test methods. A certificate of analysis containing the actual analysis for each lot or batch is provided with every Afton Chemical shipment.

Resilience / Business Continuity

Afton Chemical’s Business Continuity Planning (BCP) is a process based around a realistic support structure and focused on managing and mitigating the impact of supply disruptions. We strive to embed BCP in Afton Chemical’s Culture and have active BCP programs in all functional areas from product development through delivery.

Order Handling

Primary Contacts

Afton Chemical has a central, multi-lingual Customer Service department with dedicated co-ordinators for geographic areas.

Order Placement

Afton Chemical commits to process orders received during our normal office hours within 2 working days. An automated acknowledgement of your order can be generated upon request.

Order confirmation will follow after the order has been scheduled. For orders placed beyond our 4 week scheduling window, confirmation will be sent at least 7 working days prior to loading date for road shipments, and 21 working days prior to loading date for seagoing shipments.

Please do not hesitate to raise any specific requirements you may have with your Afton Chemical Sales or Customer Relationship Representative.

Documentation

Afton Chemical will provide a standard set of technical, commercial and shipping documents in line with the chosen mode of transport.

Where needed, we will generate the required excise or customs documents. For customer collections, should the material fail to be cleared by the receiver, Afton may need to raise additional customs charges at cost.

Lead-Times

Afton Chemical offers competitive lead-times for its stock items and made-to-order / assemble-to-order items. These minimum lead-times reflect the time necessary to process and prepare a customer order in a safe and cost-effective manner. They are expressed in working days from order receipt to order dispatch. Transit time should be added to these typical lead-times in line with the chosen mode of transport.

(*) Valid for most Crankcase, Off Road and Viscosity Modifier type products

The lead-times are minimum values for guidance. Actual lead-times can fluctuate to allow optimized production scheduling and they may be extended temporarily during periods of peak demand.

In support of unexpected or urgent product requirements, Afton Chemical may be able to offer rapid response lead-times. Please contact your Afton Chemical Customer Relationship Representative to address your specific requirements.

The minimum lead-times apply to standard truck, ISO-tank or box-container sized loads, in line with your demand forecast or historical order patterns. Certain transport modes, destinations or documentation requirements may require additional preparation time.

For non-forecast demand and non-standard order quantities or transport modes, please contact your Afton Chemical Customer Relationship Representative.

Afton Chemical also offers a number of specialty products that are not manufactured or stocked in this region, on an import-to-order basis.

Lead-times for these grades can be advised by your Afton Chemical Customer Relationship Representative.

Changing or cancelling a confirmed order will require prior agreement by Afton Chemical, and may lead to additional service charges.

Packaging

Afton Chemical only uses new high quality packaging and refrains from using reconditioned or used packaging materials.

Pricing for packaged material will carry a differential above bulk MT prices reflecting the additional material, handling and labour cost.

Standard IBC

1000L High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), UN31HA1, unlined and supplied on steel-skidpallet, 4-way entry, L 1200mm, W 1000mm, Height with pallet 1160mm, filling opening 225mm

Not all products are suitable for supply in IBCs and not all regional warehouses carry inventories in IBCs.

Non-standard IBCs can be supplied at a premium cost. Pallet type, higher capacity containers and connecting valves can be supplied to suit your operations. Certain products containing high levels of solvent require EVOH line IBCs which come with a premium cost differential.

Pallets

Pallets can be supplied on request with drum orders at a premium. Pallet size and rate will depend on the mode of transport. Drums will be secured appropriately using polyethylene wrapping, horizontal and/or vertical strapping as required.

Special pallets or customized wrapping/strapping is available at a premium cost upon request.

Labels

Afton will apply a standard set of labels on all package types for identification and in order to meet all regulatory requirements for the chosen mode of transport.

Product Loading

Afton Chemical follows a set of basic criteria that ensure both smooth and effective loading operations and first-time-right manufacturing. Afton Chemical allocates specific loading days to each order, in case of bulk orders also specific time slots for loading. Customers collecting at our facilities will be advised of these timeslots through our order confirmation process.

In the interest of optimizing load-out activities, we encourage our customers to combine collections from our warehouses. The minimum quantity for made-to-order items will depend on the optimal batch size, but is typically around 10 Mtons per product.

Bulk Shipment Variance

Bulk weight variances can occur between shipping and receiving locations for a variety of reasons, including: measurement methods, temperature changes, weight versus volume conversions, clingage, etc. In-transit weight variations are a common industry feature and in order to streamline the process Afton has adopted the following standard variance process:

Minimum quantity deviation tolerance, orders < 20MT

• +/- 100 Kgs for low viscosity products

• +/- 200 Kgs for high viscosity products (> 150 cSt @ 100°C)

Minimum pro-rata deviation tolerance, orders > 20MT

• +/- 0.5 % for low viscosity products

• +/- 1% for high viscosity products (> 150 cSt @ 100°C)

Proper heating and unloading procedures should be followed to avoid heels or residue inside the delivering equipment. For discrepancies larger than industry standard deviation, please contact your Afton Chemical Customer Relationship Representative.

All claims for re-imbursement will require the discrepancy to be mentioned in writing on the transportation document at the time of unloading and to be substantiated by a valid weight ticket from a calibrated weighbridge.

Turnaround Time

Afton Chemical is committed to limit the time required to handle receipt, loading and dispatch of trucks collecting at our facilities. Most Afton locations operate a time slot system in order to smoothen out loading operations. The maximum turnaround time may vary by installation but is typically 3 hours. Prolonged truck detention demurrage beyond the applicable maximum will be reimbursed if caused by Afton Chemical.

Timeliness

In order to optimize our production and loadout capacities, we require hauliers to collect on the date confirmed by Afton Chemical. Failure to collect on the agreed date may result in additional handling and storage operations being required to minimize disruptions to production and loading schedules. Afton Chemical may seek reimbursement of the costs incurred. Service charges will be in line with the severity of the disruption.

Tanker Cleanliness

To ensure tanker cleanliness, Afton Chemical requires hauliers to present a clean, dry, road cargo to the filling stations, with a cleaning certificate. We additionally operate some restrictions related to previous loads that are specified on the order confirmation. Written authorization is required before Afton Chemical will load over a heel present in a customer carrier trailer.

Because of a number of variables (e.g. – carrier, weather, in-transit delays, distance), Afton Chemical is not able to guarantee a delivered product temperature as part of a collection-based order. Any fees and charges associated with required unloading temperatures will be the customer’s responsibility.

Equipment

When collecting at an Afton Chemical installation, it is important that hauliers employ equipment having sufficient capacity to load the ordered quantity in full, taking into account product temperature and density, and in compliance with the Afton loading site requirements. Additional information on these requirements will be provided through the order confirmation process.

Afton Chemical reserves the right to refuse entry of any driver or carrier under Afton’s Safety and Security policies. Afton Chemical cannot accept any responsibility for costs associated with a carrier or driver rejection or non-admittance by an Afton site.

Transportation and Delivery

Afton Chemical has selected a limited number of reliable and quality-driven logistics partners to ensure that products are delivered under the right conditions, at the right time to the right place. The area of expertise of these logistics partners spans the whole range of delivery modes, from road trucks to ISO-containers and railcars. Our logistics partners are regularly audited by Afton Chemical and are all ISO certified. Our logistics partners are also equipped to deal with specialised unloading requirements at your location. Please indicate your particular delivery or unloading requirements during the ordering process.

Free Hours for Discharge at Customer Installations

• 3 hours for bulk

• 2 hours for drums

This is the industry standard for unloading material in mainland Europe. Discharge arrangements for overseas bulk shipments will vary from this standard.

Truck Detention or Demurrage Time Incurred at Unloading

Haulier fees, product heating requirements and other costs are variable. All claims for detention or demurrage must be raised within 2 months of the event. As such, all fees related to detention or demurrage will be validated with haulier invoice and/or transport documentation.

Freight Booking

Under FCA conditions, Afton Chemical can handle the administrative part of the freight arrangement with the carrier indicated on your order. A service charge will be applicable.

If necessary, air freight can be arranged by Afton at a premium cost. Some products may require special packaging and may be regulated for air transport.

Customs and Compliance

When participating in international trade, correct customs handling of your shipment is a vital part in enabling a timely delivery.

Afton Chemical has a dedicated team that focuses on customs compliance to facilitate your export clearance. Afton will always issue the export documentation. If pick up happens by a carrier of your choice, goods need to be exported within 60 days and necessary actions need to be taken to obtain the exit confirmation.

Excise

For some destinations excise duties and/or excise related customs documentation can be needed. If the ordered materials are subject to excise, we will require your tax warehouse code and tax warehouse keeper code. Any excise document created by Afton needs to be closed in full.

If there are discrepancies, please contact your Afton Chemical Customer Services Representative to find a solution. The excise documents and their quantities are binding. Changes are not allowed at unloading without prior confirmation from your Afton Chemical Customer Services Representative.
