Union Member - here is your June 2025 e-newsletter (with updates since early May):

Advocating for Change from the Inside Out

An outspoken AFT Connecticut-affiliated higher education leader, who consistently shows up for justice, is the focus of our latest monthly "Meet the Activists" feature. Share his story and encourage colleagues to submit their own nominations for a like-minded member deserving a shout-out

Engaging their Community in Solidarity

Members of an affiliated healthcare union took to the streets in mid May, holding a major demonstration aimed at securing a strong new contract. They rallied each other and their supporters two weeks before reaching a historic tentative agreement with their employer

Giving Back to Build "a Better World"

In mid May, local and state leaders engaged community partners to distribute 10,000 books as part of our national union's ongoing literacy drive. PreK-12 educators joined neighborhood nonprofits and elected officials for a morning of activities for students' and their families.

Lifting Up Leaders Who Make a Difference Every Day

Another feature of our 2025 business convention was the presentation of AFT Connecticut’s annual awards to activists who epitomize the spirit of "Union YES!" The early May event included recognition of our four Kornfeld, Soifer, President's and "Unionist of the Year" recipients
