Taking a Team Approach to Labor Leadership

Our latest "Meet the Activists" highlighted an AFT Connecticut-affiliated local paraprofessionals and school-related personnel (PSRP) union officer who understands how to accomplish more through collaboration. Asking the Governor, "Which Side Are You On?" *

In mid June, members of several affiliates joined hundreds of their siblings for a major protest aimed at averting a veto of pro-worker legislation. See the the collage of activists urging the governor to sign a bill expanding access to unemployment insurance.

Charting a Course for the Challenges to Come *

Members of healthcare affiliates joined their colleagues from the across the country in mid June for our national union’s divisional annual professional issues conference. Watch a brief video with highlights from the event in Chicago which included a local "No Kings" protest.

Engaging in Civil Disobedience to Compel Real Solutions *

In early June, lawmakers responded to a demonstration organized two weeks earlier at the State Capitol by affiliated PreK-12 union members and education advocates. Learn more about how activists sat-in, were arrested and ultimately secured historic investments in traditional neighborhood public schools
