PROGRAM DESCRIPTION Upon arrival, students will be taken to Budapest for a cultural visit. It will be followed by a 10-day Hungary trip. This will provide the chance to experience almost all part of Hungary, see the most important sights.

The 2-week homestay following the trip helps pax to experience Hungarian culture, family structure and family culture and also an insight into the Hungarian educational system. Pax will have the opportunity to take part in chapter life and also to participate in school.

You will be enrolled at the 10th, 11th, or 12th year, depending on your current academic level. Moreover, you will be in frequent contact with AFS volunteers, who will assist you anytime you need.

The volunteers want you to adapt well to your new reality, so they will prepare some interesting activities during your many orientations.

Italy

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION Intercultura hosts approximately 50 students from various countries who generally have a Southern Hemisphere school calendar for this 2month scholastic program.

The host families are particularly enthusiastic about this program, because it includes the Christmas holiday celebrations. In fact, the schools are closed from December 24 - January 6.

During this time, the students can have the chance to create a special bond with their host family and to visit the host community in a special time of the year. They may even see snow for the first time in their lives!

Turkey

Intensive School Program in Turkey (Dec 2024 to February 2025) 4 weeks of school and 2 weeks of semester break in the Southern city of Adana

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION Adana is one of the cities with the warmest climate in Turkey. The average temperature in December-January is 15-20 Celsius. You will arrive directly to Adana where you will be received by AFS Volunteers. The next day will be the Arrival Orientation held in the city.

Afterwards you will meet your host families on Sunday afternoon, when they will come to the orientation venue to pick you up.

School starts early on Monday and they will have classes for four full weeks (except January 1st) since Turkey doesn't celebrate Christmas. 3rd week of January is usually when the Semester Breaks for all high schools is scheduled.
