Intercultura hosts approximately 50 students from various countries who generally have a Southern Hemisphere school calendar for this 2month scholastic program.
The host families are particularly enthusiastic about this program, because it includes the Christmas holiday celebrations. In fact, the schools are closed from December 24 - January 6.
During this time, the students can have the chance to create a special bond with their host family and to visit the host community in a special time of the year. They may even see snow for the first time in their lives!

Adana is one of the cities with the warmest climate in Turkey. The average temperature in December-January is 15-20 Celsius. You will arrive directly to Adana where you will be received by AFS Volunteers. The next day will be the Arrival Orientation held in the city. Afterwards you will meet your host families on Sunday afternoon, when they will come to the orientation venue to pick you up.
School starts early on Monday and they will have classes for four full weeks (except January 1st) since Turkey doesn't celebrate Christmas. 3rd week of January is usually when the Semester Breaks for all high schools is scheduled.
Short trip and End of Stay camp at Cappadocia (The location might change due to logistics or weather conditions.)
