Hungary Home Stay and Hungary Trip (May – June 2023) Unique cultural visit in Budapest with a round trip in Hungary, homestay and some school life

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION Upon arrival, students will be taken to Budapest for a cultural visit. It will be followed by a 10-day Hungary trip. This will provide the chance to experience almost all part of Hungary, see the most important sights.

The 2-week homestay following the trip helps pax to experience Hungarian culture, family structure and family culture and also an insight into the Hungarian educational system. Pax will have the opportunity to take part in chapter life and also to participate in school.

Argentina Intensive School Program (June – August 2023) Unique experiences, unforgettable moments and unlimited territory to explore. Discover many cultures within Argentina and Uruguay, two countries full of history and magic!

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION In this program participants will be hosted by a local family, who will show you the community, make you feel comfortable and help you make friends. You will be enrolled at the 10th, 11th, or 12th year, depending on your current academic level. Moreover, you will be in frequent contact with AFS volunteers, who will assist you anytime you need. The volunteers want you to adapt well to your new reality, so they will prepare some interesting activities during your many orientations. Argentina looks forward to welcoming you!

Argentina Spanish Language Learning (June – July 2023) Speak the second most spoken language in the planet - Spanish Connect with local in their own language

Denmark Summer Camp at Ranum (July 2023) AFS Denmark and Ranum Efterskole College offer a 4-week summer school program. This program embraces the school's educational philosophy, which emphasizes the development of the learner´s interests and the quality of essential courses.

Philippines High School Intensive Program (July – September 2023) Study in the Pacific, Make Your Future Prolific! #ItsAllWorthIt

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION The High School Intensive Program provides students with a safe and structured learning environment and the skills needed to become a responsible and active global citizen at the conclusion of their academic journey.

In addition to cultural engagements, participants will also be involved in community services. Each participant will be required to complete a minimum of 25-hour community work during their program.

Denmark AFS Academy: Culture (July -August 2023) Spend one month at a Danish “EFTERSKOLE” exploring cultural differences, learning Danish and English and participating in interesting activities and cultural excursions.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION Throughout the program, the participants will live, eat and study at the Ranum Efterskole. The participants will study intercultural learning/global competencies together with the Danish and international students.

They will also take part in intensive language classes in either English or Danish for 4 hours per week (which language is decided beforehand in consultation with the major senders on the program). The program also includes a 4-day excursion to Copenhagen.

Egypt Trimester Program in Egypt (September-November 2023) Explore Global Citizenship Education in Egypt

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION AFS Egypt welcomes participants to The Peace program which is a trimester high school exchange program that focuses on global active citizenship learning.

It is a three month exchange program, where students live with host families, attend schools, during the program.

Participants will be encouraged to be engaged in social, and environmental community service projects in their hosting communities, which will enhance their knowledge and understanding to become active global citizens.

Italy Winter In Italy (December 2023 – January 2024) Spend Christmas in Italy!

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION Intercultura hosts approximately 50 students from various countries who generally have a Southern Hemisphere school calendar for this 2 month scholastic program.

The host families are particularly enthusiastic about this program, because it includes the Christmas holiday celebrations.

In fact, the schools are closed from December 24 - January 6.

During this time, the students can have the chance to create a special bond with their host family and to visit the host community in a special time of the year. They may even see snow for the first time in their lives!

Turkey Intensive School Program in Turkey (Dec 2023 to February 2024) 4 weeks of school and 2 weeks of semester break in the Southern city of Adana

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION Adana is one of the cities with the warmest climate in Turkey.

The average temperature in December-January is 15-20 Celcius.

You will arrive directly to Adana where you will be received by AFS Volunteers.The next day will be the Arrival Orientation held in the city. Afterwards you will meet your host families on Sunday afternoon, when they will come to the orientation venue to pick you up.

School starts early on Monday and they will have classes for four full weeks (except January 1st) since Turkey doesn't celebrate Christmas. 3rd week of January is usually when the Semester Breaks for all high schools is scheduled.

Peace Program (September 2023 - November 2023) Country Choice: Turkey, Italy, Austria, Switzerland

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION Peace program is a research and curriculum based program initiated to foster mutual understanding and knowledge between Asia and Europe, recognizing formal and informal learning. Under this program students will be placed in host families and will attend host school daily.

PROGRAM DATES 3-Months Duration; September 2023 onwards REQUIRED AGE Between 15 to 18 Years PROGRAM TYPE School & Host Family Experience

After the program ends, students will go to Brussels for the End of Stay Camp. The camp is organised by European Federation for Intercultural Learning (EFIL). It is to understand that it is a themed based trimester secondary school exchange program centered on active citizenship education.

Students will be engaged in community service projects, researching community development and replicating those projects in their home country after arrival.
