Is America A Christian Nation?

The Conservative Political Action Committee (CPAC) invited the former Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, to its annual convention in Dallas, Texas as its keynote speaker. Orban stated that, “A Christian politician cannot be racist”. Orban not only condemned himself, but CPAC, Caucasian Nations, and received a resounding standing ovation for his spiritual ignorance. America let’s spiritually examine Orban’s statement of Alternative Facts (lies). What spiritually defines a Christian? First and foremost an individual’s spiritual heart and mind must be Christlike. Therefore: “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God” (Philippians 2: 5-6). Moreover: “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin: that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” (2 Corinthians 5: 21). America be careful what you declaratively say, because “Death and life are

in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof ” (Proverbs 18-21). For example, when the Pharaoh of Egypt pronounced and declared death upon all the first born of the Israelites, he pronounced death upon his own first-born as well as the first-born of other Egyptians.

Being a spiritually bornagain Christian is about personal responsibility, and presenting oneself as a living sacrifice to God, which is your reasonable service. Thus, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Romans 12: 1-2). Christian Right Evangelicals, The GOP, White Nationalists, Fox “Fake” News, some confused Blacks, and other minorities we have enough malnutrition of the brain individuals in America; without importing ungodly foreign nutcases with their spiritual ignorance into a democratic multicultural society.

No One Ever Told You About Black August?

Black America lives in a series of deserts. Many of us live in food deserts, financial deserts, employment deserts, and most of us live in information deserts.

And just as Black bodies suffer from the lack of proper nourishment in food deserts, Black minds suffer from the lack of accurate history in information deserts. There is a great deal of African history, as well as the history

of the African Diaspora, which has a rightful place as a significant element of American history, that has been disregarded and even hidden by the proponents and enablers of white supremacy.

The lifetimes of many scholars in the African Diaspora have been spent trying to bring enlightenment to the world relative to the history of Black folk. So it would be impossible for me to even attempt to recount more than the most minuscule slice of that history. That being the case, I want to point out only one thing at this time. And this being the month of August, I want to bring to your attention, Black August.

POLITICS No One is Above The Law By: Roy Douglas Malonson

What occurred on January 6, 2021, will be a moment in history that many Americans did not see coming. On this day, many people stormed the capitol to protest President Biden’s transition to power as if they’re protest was going to stop it.

This day was not only disrespectful to the historic site, but to the history that America stands on.

Even before the results of the 2020 election, Trump started the idea that the election was going to be rigged if he lost.

This idea of “election fraud” started a chain of events that now has democracy in question for many. What people don’t realize is that all of this did not happen overnight, this all started due to Obama taking office back in 2008.

The world could not handle a Black man as president and since then, many attempts have been made to “make America Great again.” If Obama would have done the things Trump has done, would he still be roaming free?

If you have been following the circus surrounding the event at the capitol, there have

been many pieces of evidence that shows Trumps direct involvement, yet he is still untouched. Some people have been called in to question while others have been taken to jail.

An example of this is Mark Ponder, a Black man from Washington D.C., who was pictured assaulting police officers with a pole during the capitol uproar and was sentenced five years and three months in prison, and one White man, Guy Wesley Reffitt received seven years. There have been hundreds of people who have been sentenced, but again, Trump remains free.

No one is above the law and that includes the President.

Attorney General Merrick B. Garland, stated in an interview that the law will apply to everyone stating, “We intend to hold everyone, anyone who was criminally responsible for the events surrounding Jan. 6, for any attempt to interfere with the lawful transfer of power from one administration to another, accountable.

That’s what we do. We don’t pay any attention to other issues

with respect to that.”

Garland further stated, “That’s the only way we can pursue the rule of law. That’s the only way we can keep the confidence of the American people in the rule of law, which is an essential part of our democratic system.” Trump has used Twitter as a platform

in D.C. on January 6th. Be there, will be wild!” This tweet alone shows proof of Trump’s direct involvement in not only trying to overturn the election results, but to promote violence.

Amongst one of his greatest supporters is Ginni Thomas, wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence

over the last years to express his thoughts and opinions on any and everything, including “election fraud.” On December 19, 2020, Trump tweeted, “Peter Navarro releases 36-page report alleging election fraud ‘more than sufficient’ to swing victory to Trump… statistically impossible to lose the 2020 election. Thomas who had many text messages between herself and Trumps Chief of Staff Mark Meadows. One of the text messages that were released said, “The majority knows Biden and the Left is attempting the greatest Heist of our History.” Her involvement has also brought many to question the integrity of the Supreme Court and

their code of ethics.

In recent developments, Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida is under investigation pertaining to classified White House documents that were removed and brought to the resort. It was noted by the National Archives that several boxes of documents, including classified documents were found on the property. Trump continues to do whatever he wants and has shown that he has no regard for the law. If there is any merit to what Attorney General Garland has said, then Trump must be held responsible for all that he has done and caused.

If January 6th has taught us anything, it is that we as a people need to get out and vote. Now is not the time to sit back and watch democracy destroyed before our eyes. Our democracy and our vote are currently in question, and if we don’t act aggressively and get out and vote, we will lose both. Voter suppression is real, and many politicians are doing what they can to suppress our votes.

Just take what hap-

pened in Georgia during the 2020 election specifically in Fulton County, where there was controversy over absentee ballots and voter fraud. Trump was not satisfied with the fact that he lost, so he demanded a recount. He lost Georgia, and he couldn’t believe it.

One reason Georgia was the center of the 2020 election was because of people like Stacey Abrams, a well-known activist and political leader.

She and many other residents fought tirelessly to get as many people registered and to the polls to vote. She even ran for governor and won more votes than any other Democrat in the state’s history. After everything Abrams witnessed with voter suppression, fraud, and poor management during the 2018 election, this motivated her to start Fair Fight, which is an organization created to make sure that everyone has a voice and their vote heard.

The lack of healthy eating is the number one reason many African Americans are overweight.

We are allured by buttery and high cholesterol favorites like buttermilk biscuits, macaroni and cheese with fried chicken.

Many African Americans can’t imagine finding healthy foods that will satisfy their tastebuds.

Well, Bobby and Paulina Colter would beg to differ. They are the business owners of Ma’cemais and Myrtle Family Cuisine...Vegan Food for the Soul.

Mr. and Mrs. Colter met in Canada, where they were married after a Pen Pal Courtship. Bobby Colter, a retired trucker, hails from Crockett, TX. Paulina is the chef/ baker. She is from a small village in Saint Lucia (St. Lucia). Her story is quite remarkable.

She came to the United States in the late 1980s with two other St. Lucian women from her church to marry three American men after reading an ad in the church newsletter. She was meant to marry another man, but as fate would have it, he was too young for her. Bobby had no intention of marrying then, but they believe God led them to each other. Both spiritual people have explored many faiths while raising six kids.

After their daughter, Kercy, experienced problems during pregnancy, they researched the benefits of plant-based diets and switched to a vegan diet. This quest for healthy eating options resulted in an eighty-pound weight loss and a significant

shift in healthy eating that has improved the quality of their entire family’s lives. Mrs. Colter learned nutrition and cooking from her mom by helping to provide for more than a dozen brothers and sisters. She also kept homes for wealthy Caucasian residents of St. Lucia, including cooking meals in the

English tradition.

Mrs. Colter prepared healthy meals for long journeys to feed her husband and one son who spent time on the road trucking.

They would even drive hours off route to get her tasty meal plates.

From the desire to find healthy alternatives for their family, and a desire to live a healthier lifestyle, their delicious business, Ma’cemais & Myrtle Cuisine, was born.

Their business is a labor of love inspired by the deep love of family.

The Colters named Ma’cemais & Myrtle Cuisine after their mothers.Their granddaughter, Sage, created the digital artwork from various pictures of her great-grandmothers.

The Colter’s daughter, Kercy,

and her husband, Skai Shadow, promote, market, and develop corporate sponsorships for their business. It is such a grand Family Affair that has been beneficial to their health and wellness and lucrative for their family. The Colters believe, “It is essential to eat healthy because health equates to wealth. Without fitness, it

is impossible to be wealthy spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, psychologically, and financially. Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”

The Colters take great pride in creating vegan baked goods and meals that are delicious to your taste buds and healthy for your soul. Saturday nights are unique in the Colter home, where they celebrate food and family at their family gatherings they call “Saturday Night Treats.” Relatives, kids, and grandkids stay all night for food, games, dancing, and movies. They have all the same favorite foods, such as pizza, cookies, and cakes, but they are Vegan foods that are delicious and healthy.

They operate from a private kitchen and sell vegan food at farmers’ markets and festivals.

They also provide vegan baked goods to different events in the community. Their goal is to have a trailer or food truck soon, then open a brick-and-mortar location to serve healthy foods to the public. The Colters are passionate about sharing their love for healthy, delicious foods that promote consistent healthy eating and foods that are good for your body. Their signature baked good is their Coconut Bread. It is so good that people who don’t even like coconut love it. They use coconut milk straight from the coconut instead of coconut shavings.

Using the ingredients that are in their most natural state allows everyone to have the most honest, healthy, and high in nutrition food. Many of their signature dishes taste better than their

Serena Williams is giving tennis one last hurrah before hanging up her racket for good.

With 23 Grand Slam titles and 192 career wins, Williams announced that she’s retiring following next month’s U.S. Open.

“This morning, my daughter, Olympia, who turns five this month, and I were on our way to get her a new passport before a trip to Europe. We’re in my car, and she’s holding my phone, using an interactive educational app she likes,” Williams penned in the September 2022 issue of Vogue Magazine.

“This robot voice asks her a question: What do you want to be when

you grow up? She doesn’t know I’m listening, but I can hear the answer she whispers into the phone. She says, “I want to be a big sister.”

Williams said it’s time for her to focus on family.

Earlier this year, Williams penned an essay for Elle Magazine in which she recounted her reckoning that proved once again that Black women remain three times more likely to die after childbirth than white women.

She said she was almost one of them.

“I’ve suffered every injury imaginable, and I know my body,” she wrote. “Giving birth to my baby, it turned out, was a test for how loud and how often I would have to call

out before I was finally heard.”

As Williams recounted, she had a “wonderful pregnancy” with her first child, Alexis Olympia, and even her epidural-free delivery was going well – at first.

“By the next morning, the contractions were coming harder and faster. With each one, my baby’s heart rate plummeted. I was scared,” she continued.

“Every time the baby’s heart rate dropped, the nurses would come in and tell me to turn onto my side.
