The Gospel brings light into darkness

RWANDA — Last summer, African Enterprise kicked off our Kigali for Jesus mission in the Kicukiro sector in the capital city of Rwanda.

The communities in this part of the city are notorious for drug abuse, alcoholism, prostitution and other vices; therefore, the support for the mission was immense.

In partnership with several churches, African Enterprise Rwanda launched open-air campaigns in six mission sites throughout the Kicukiro district, attracting thousands of people.

Good News abounds in Rwanda — thanks to you!

The first day of the mission resulted in reaching out to 6,020 people, of whom 250 received Christ in their lives as Lord and Savior!

“The life I have been living in was sinful,” said 35-yearold Bariyanga, who was reached during the mission. “My parents were drug addicts from my young age, and I lived in the bondage of sinful acts.”

Yet, as a husband and father, Bariyanga longed for a different life.

“Thanks to African Enterprise, I have believed in Jesus as my Savior and Lord,” said Bariyanga. “What changed my life is the testimony shared by the preacher. She said she was changed by Jesus Christ while she was still a sinner, like me.”

MISSIONS UPDATE: Nairobi, Kenya

Today, Bariyanga is free from slavery to sin forever. “I want to live peacefully with my wife,” he said. “I want to be helpful to those who are still sinners. And I pray God will deliver me from bad friends.”

Please join us in praying for Bariyanga and the others who said “Yes!” to Jesus during this mission. As they learn what it means to be a follower of Jesus, pray they will be surrounded by faithful brothers and sisters who can disciple them and help them to grow in their faith.

The Mathare Slum in Nairobi, Kenya, is the oldest and one of the largest slums in Kenya — home to half a million people. So when African Enterprise Kenya launched their “Love Nairobi Festival” last fall, Mathare was a priority.

As our missioners split into teams to share the love of God door to door, they met 24-year-old Irene, a single mom of a baby girl.

She shared with our team that nothing was looking up for her in life so she had surrendered to a life of intoxication. Yet, after nearly dying during a drunken binge, she realized she had to change her life. She decided to find God but didn’t know where to look for Him.

Thanks to missions you help make possible, Irene of Kenya now has hope in Christ.

Thankfully, she didn’t have to — YOU delivered God to her doorstep!

Through our “Love Nairobi Festival,”

Irene prayed with our missioners and made Jesus the Lord of her life!

Hope for a struggling soul in Malawi — through your generosity!

When Charity’s husband filed for divorce, she was heartbroken. “Then my brother lost his wife,” she said. “They had three children together, and he needed my help to raise them.”

Charity earned a meager living selling baked goods — barely enough to support herself, let alone three hungry children.

A bright future for Charity — thanks to you!

Thankfully, Charity learned of African Enterprise Malawi’s Vocational Skills Training Center. In April 2023, Charity was one of 20 women enrolled in a six-month School of Tailoring program, where she was trained in shirt-making, dress-making and blouse-making.

“I am excited to have these skills for the improvement of my life and my family’s,” she said. “Now, I want to pass on these skills to other women who are in tragic situations just as I was.”

Thank you for offering hope and opportunity to struggling souls like Charity — and for introducing them to Jesus, the source of all hope.

For this coming year, we are set to embark on a strategic vision to touch hearts and souls throughout Africa with the power of the Gospel.

Your support of VISION 2024 will provide missions opportunities to share the love of Christ in Kigali, Rwanda; Kisumu, Kenya; Dodoma, Tanzania; Johannesburg, South Africa; Harare, Zimbabwe; Soroti, Uganda; Tema, Ghana; Mzuzu, Malawi; Juba, South Sudan; and Nefas Silk (Addis Ababa), Ethiopia.

Your giving will also enable us to launch 600 Community Transformation Groups (CTGs) in 11 countries. These groups of 15-20 people meet weekly and put a small amount of money into a common kitty, which enables them to provide microloans to one another.

Through our International Institute of Evangelism, your giving will provide comprehensive biblical instruction and empower nearly 500 pastors and church leaders to be effective messengers of the Gospel in their respective communities.

As we embark on the challenges and opportunities that 2024 presents, may God continue to bless and guide our endeavors.

• Kigali is Rwanda’s rapidly growing capital city with a population of 1.5 million

• Government sees Kigali as growing to rival Nairobi as the unofficial “capital of East Africa

Dodoma, Tanzania: July 14-21

• Located in the center of the country, it is the capital city with a population nearing 1 million

• Significant Muslim presence with the Muammar Ghaddafi Mosque
