Synergy and innovation meet location and intent at FIU’s Center for Translational Science (CTS). Located next to the Cleveland Clinic hospital and research facility in Port St. Lucie, FIU researchers and student scientists are partnering with Cleveland Clinic and other entities to move forward the delivery of life-impacting therapeutics in the most efficient manner possible. Researchers at CTS are studying the following broad research and discovery themes: Lung vascular and airway disease; brain injury and aging; environmental medicine; inflammation, infection and immunity; bioinformatics; and mitochondria and metabolism.

Colleges and departments at FIU provide Graduate Assistantships (GAs) to qualified students on a competitive basis. GAs may teach, conduct research, or have other responsibilities that contribute to the student’s professional development. GAs can be classified as Graduate Assistants, Graduate Teaching Assistants (TAs), or Graduate Research Assistants (RAs). A graduate assistantship may provide a stipend, tuition waiver, and student health insurance.
For information on graduate assistantship opportunities, students should contact the graduate program in which they are enrolling. Assistantships are not available to non-degree seeking students or students admitted on a conditional admissions basis.
