Welcome to the eighth issue of the Critics Choice Awards — FYC Showcase™. As a service to the membership, the Critics Choice Association (CCA) has partnered with Advertising For Media to create an advertorial guide that allows studios and networks to highlight films and shows that may be considered for our upcoming awards voting. CCA members know how challenging it is to stay on top of everything we might like to consider, and this FYC Showcase helps the members see what many of the studios and networks are most proud of this year. The print version of the FYC Showcase™ is being sent to all CCA members at the start of our annual voting period. The digital version of the FYC Showcase will also be available online at www.criticschoice.com and fycshowcase.com. The 32nd annual Critics Choice Awards will be televised live on E! and USA networks on January 3, 2027. Joey Berlin CEO Critics Choice Association

ABBOTT ELEMENTARY

STORYLINE/PLOT SUMMARY: In this workplace comedy, a group of dedicated, passionate teachers — and a slightly tone-deaf principal — are brought together in a Philadelphia public school where, despite the odds stacked against them, they are determined to help their students succeed in life. ADULTS

STORYLINE/PLOT SUMMARY: FX’s “Adults” is an ensemble comedy series about a group of 20-somethings in New York leaning on each other to navigate love, work, friendship and family. Samir (Malik Elassal), Billie (Lucy Freyer), Paul Baker (Jack Innanen), Issa (Amita Rao) and Anton (Owen Thiele) are five friends crashing together in Samir’s childhood home. Created by Ben Kronengold & Rebecca Shaw, the show puts a generational lens on the wins, losses and humiliations of being in your 20s. Over the episodes, the housemates tackle a new set of real-world questions. What if the 20-year-old who inherited your fake ID is cooler than you ever were, and younger than you’ll ever be again? How do you explain to your friends that you actually love your boring office job? And how do you ask for things to change, when you also need everything to stay the same? Together, the friends weave intricate webs of multi-player strategy just to avoid hurting someone else’s feelings. They invent elaborate workarounds for problems they’re too afraid to face. It’s not so much that they keep learning the same lessons – it’s that they keep finding new ways to make mistakes. But the one thing they consistently get right: showing up for each other. YELLOWJACKETS

STORYLINE/PLOT SUMMARY: Created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, YELLOWJACKETS is the saga of a team of wildly talented high school girls’ soccer players who become the (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness. Equal parts survival epic, psychological horror and coming-of-age drama, the series chronicles their descent from a complicated yet thriving team to savage clans while also tracking the lives they’ve attempted to piece back together nearly 25 years later. It proves that the past is never really the past and what began in the wilderness is far from over. CAST & CREW: Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress, Christina Ricci, Hilary Swank. IN 2019, I DIDN’T THINK ABOUT IT.

I'm a stuntwoman. And I've doubled for powerful actors. But I never thought of how an unscripted scene of PTSD and abuse might tear through my family and set us adrift. In a dark time, MPTF helped us make our way back. Back to a place where the future is bright, the stunt motorcycles ride fast, and the love runs deep. Caring is Infinite, since 1921
