Welcome to the seventh issue of the Critics Choice Awards — FYC Showcase™. As a service to the membership, the Critics Choice Association (CCA) has partnered with Advertising For Media to create an advertorial guide that allows studios and networks to highlight films and shows we may be considering for our upcoming awards voting. CCA members know how challenging it is to stay on top of everything we might like to consider, and this FYC Showcase helps the members see what many of the studios and networks are most proud of this year. The FYC Showcase is designed as a voting tool and also a lasting yearbook of the year’s best films and series.
The print version of the FYC Showcase™ is being sent to all CCA members at the start of our annual voting period. The digital version of the FYC Showcase will also be available online at www.criticschoice.com and fycshowcase.com. The 31st annual Critics Choice Awards will be televised live on E! and USA Networks on Jan. 4, 2026.

STORYLINE/PLOT SUMMARY: Seventeen seasons on, Ronald “Mac” MacDonald (Rob Mac), Charlie Kelly (Charlie Day), Dennis Reynolds (Glenn Howerton), Dee Reynolds (Kaitlin Olson), and Frank Reynolds (Danny DeVito) return to shamelessly shed their “niche” label for grander aspirations.
They’ll exploit cross-network promotion to increase market share; they’ll scapegoat one of their own to avoid a PR backlash; they’ll risk everything for a handshake with the Saudis; they’ll bend the laws with side hustles to pad their pockets; and they’ll change everything about themselves to appeal to a broader audience.
And sure, like any corporate goon, the Gang craves money and parasitic social privileges. That’s been plain since 2005. But they’re also human beings. They crave love ... respect … conditional freedom … constant adulation … histrionic amounts of attention … non-stop gratification ... and unfiltered, slaphappy eroticism. In Season 17, they’ll chase down them all.
And the money. Obviously, the money. They don’t want to spend the rest of their lives working like dogs.

Before The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, there was Ed.
STORYLINE/PLOT SUMMARY: Serial killer. Grave robber. Psycho. In the frozen fields of 1950s rural Wisconsin, a friendly, mild-mannered recluse named Eddie Gein lived quietly on a decaying farm — hiding a house of horrors so gruesome it would redefine the American nightmare. Driven by isolation, psychosis, and an all-consuming obsession with his mother, Gein’s perverse crimes birthed a new kind of monster that would haunt Hollywood for decades. From Psycho to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre to The Silence of the Lambs, Gein’s macabre legacy gave birth to fictional monsters born in his image and ignited a cultural obsession with the criminally deviant. Ed Gein didn’t just influence a genre — he became the blueprint for modern horror. Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s groundbreaking anthology series returns with its third, most harrowing installment yet. Monster: The Ed Gein Story tells the story of how one simple man in Plainfield, Wisconsin became history’s most singular ghoul. He revealed to the world the most horrific truth of all — that monsters aren’t born, they’re made … by us.
