Language shapes how we see the world, and the words we use influence how we think and speak about others. Historically, language has excluded many people across the globe. The AFI Inclusive Dictionary gives you language to avoid and overcome discrimination and marginalization. It includes key terms and recommended usage for a range of inclusive words and phrases. Although the extent to which these terms are used varies from country to country, the dictionary will help to ensure that the language we use at AFI is respectful and inclusive of all groups and individuals.
