The Bank of Ghana currently has three active GIF Maya Declaration targets.

One of the Central Bank’s recent targets is, by 2022, to have implemented a web-based sex disaggregated data collection portal.

Ghana’s National Financial Inclusion and Development Strategy of prioritizes women.

It aims to improve the financial inclusion of women from 57 percent in 2017 to 85 percent in 2023.

The Bank of Ghana is the current Chair of AFI’s Gender Inclusive Finance Committee, represented by Deputy Governor Elsie Addo-Awadzi for a two-year term (2020 – 2022)

The Bank of Ghana collects sexdisaggregated on both the demand- and supply-side including internet and mobile banking.

This gives rich data about how women use internet and mobile banking.

Ten participants from the Bank of Ghana have taken part in the Leadership and Diversity Program for Regulators, since its inception in 2019.

2021 cohort's policy initiatives include encouraging banks to dedicate at least 30 percent of their MSME loan portfolio to WMSMEs.
