The 2025 French May Cinema Programme, an exceptional celebration of French cinema, runs from May 20, offering a lineup of ten remarkable films. This edition promises to captivate cinephiles, music enthusiasts, and story lovers alike, featuring a rich blend of themes through two carefully designed cycles, extraordinary screenings, and the presence of a very special guest.
In the "Biopic Cineart" cycle, iconic figures of French culture take center stage: the renowned singer Charles Aznavour (“Monsieur Aznavour”), the celebrated artist Niki de Saint Phalle (“Niki”), and the legendary actress Sarah Bernhardt (“The Divine Sarah Bernhardt”). Meanwhile, the cycle "France-Asia’s Bridges" explores connections across cultures and geographies, delving into themes of identity, familial ties, social bonds, and memory through “Winter in Sokcho”, “A Missing Part”, and “A Traveler’s Needs”.
Our special screenings feature a meticulously restored 4K version of Maria Callas’ legendary 1958 Paris debut (“Callas - Paris, 1958”), with commentary by composer Michel Reis, and the Hong Kong premiere of “Holy Cow”, the acclaimed debut film of Louise Courvoisier, offering a poignant exploration of rural youth.
Adding to the excitement, our distinguished guest, Chantal Stoman, will showcase two urban-themed documentaries, “L.A L.A End” and “Ōmecittà”, where she delves into the connections between cinema and the cities of Los Angeles and Ōme in Japan. She will also present a photography exhibition at La Galerie Paris 1839 from 21 May to 21 June.

在「 傳 記 電 影 藝 術 」 單 元 中 將 以 法 國 文
化 中 具 標 誌 性 的 人 物 為 主： 包 括 著 名 歌
手 Charles Aznavour（ 電 影《Monsieur Aznavour》）； 膾 炙 人 口 的 藝 術 家 Niki de Saint Phalle（電影《Niki》），以及戲劇界

劇 天 后 卡 拉 絲 》(Callas - Paris, 1958)， 重 現
傳 奇 女 高 音 Maria Callas 於 1958 年 12 月 19 日 首 度 登 上 巴 黎 歌 劇 院 舞 台 的 經 典 演 出。
屆 時， 鋼 琴 家 及 作 曲 家 Michel Reis 將 親 臨 放映會現場作講解。 還有香港首映，Louise Courvoisier 首次執導，備受讚譽影片的《OM
芝》(Holy Cow)。
