Business Directory Our Business Directory includes any business, organization, or individual who has chosen to support the Affton area through a membership with the Affton Chamber of Commerce or has been designated as a Strategic Partner for our organization. If you are a business owner or local organization serving the St. Louis area and would like more information on how to get your business listed with us, please contact us. Membership with the Affton Chamber of Commerce is open to any business, organization, or individual with an interest in the Mission and Vision of the Chamber of Commerce. Membership is renewed annually on January 1st of each year. New memberships are welcome throughout the year and membership dues are pro -rated accordingly. Our mission is to support the business and general interests of the greater Affton area, and to provide opportunities to network, advertise, and educate its member businesses. Members of the Affton Chamber of Commerce contribute to the organization through membership dues, sponsorships, and volunteering support on many different committees. A voluntary Board of Directors provides leadership, while a paid staff implements the Chamber’s initiatives and activities. To fulfill the Chamber’s mission, members receive many direct benefits to help them gain business through networking and increased exposure of their businesses to fellow members and the community. The Chamber works to build the Affton area by promoting the community to attract new residents, visitors, and business development. Additionally, the Chamber works with community leaders and elected officials on important issues related to having a competitive business climate and positive development in the community. The Affton Chamber embraces the use of digital and social media to promote its members to the community. Effectively using Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram to spread information provides a free or low-cost benefit to our membership. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Affton, Missouri 63123 Does Affton have city government? Affton is not a city, but a neighborhood with a very strong identity. Since the Post Office is called the Affton Branch and the Police Precinct is called the Affton Precinct, this leaves newcomers to the area to believe that Affton is incorporated, but itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s not. Representation in county government is through the St. Louis County Council. Depending on your residence, your representative is Lisa Clancy (District 5) or Ernie Trakas (District 6). The Affton community adheres to St. Louis County rules and regulations. Any code & zoning enforcement is done by St. Louis County. There are six small municipalities within the 63123 zip code: Grantwood, Green Park, Lakeshire, Mackenzie, Marlborough, and Wilbur Park. Each of these municipalities have their own ordinances. Who picks up my trash? In 2008, St. Louis County Government's Trash District Implementation Team finalized a proposal to upgrade waste hauling services for one- and two-family homes and multifamily dwellings with individual curbside waste collection service in unincorporated residential neighborhoods. Most of Affton is located in District 5 serviced by Republic Services (636-947-5959). Several municipalities and subdivisions have opted out of this program and contract their own services.  OAKLAND HOUSE This restored 1853 limestone mansion was originally designed by well-known architect George I. Barnett for one of Saint Louis’ early bankers, Louis A. Benoist. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, the 1853 Benoist mansion located in Affton at 7801 Genesta, opens its doors to visitors April thru September from 2pm to 4pm on the third Sunday of the month. Oakland House, operated by the Affton Historical Society, is available for private and business parties, weddings, luncheons and more.  ULYSSES S. GRANT NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE Formerly known as White Haven, Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site was established in 1990 to preserve and interpret the core of the farm owned by Civil War General, 18th United States President, Ulysses S. Grant and his wife, Julia. This historic site at 7400 Grant Road is open daily from 9am to 5pm. Interpretive and self-guided tours available as well as daily tours of the main house.  GRANT’S FARM Grant’s Farm is a wildlife preserve and historical site located on Grant Road in Affton, operated by Anheuser-Busch InBev. The Farm is home to hundreds of exotic animals from around the world, including St. Louis’ own and world famous Budweiser Clydesdales. Acquiring its name from our 18th U.S. President, Ulysses S. Grant, who took residence on the property in the 1850s, the 281 acres of land later became the ancestral home of the Busch family. Admission to Grant’s Farm, tram rides and shows are free. 2019 Parking fees are $15 per car & $35 per bus, RV or oversize vehicle. Season parking passes are available for $60.  GRANT’S TRAIL Grant’s Trail was once part of the Missouri Pacific Railroad Line, known at the time as the Carondelet or Kirkwood Branch, providing an alternative to crowded downtown rail lines. This portion of rail line was abandoned in 1990 until one of its sections was purchased in 1991 by Trailnet under the Rails to Trails Act; thus, Grant’s Trail was created. The 8-mile paved trail extends from the Orlando Gardens trailhead off of Hoffmeister Avenue, through Affton parallel to Gravois Creek, to Leffingwell Avenue in Kirkwood.
