Our Condolences to The family of Howard R. Stein. Howard was a former member with his company, Stein Insurance Agency. He passed away on August 9. Former Bayless School District Superintendent Maureen Clancy-May on the passing of her father James Clancy Jr. on August 10. Maureen served on our Board of Directors 2009-2012 and was President in 2011.

A long-expected update to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will go into effect on Dec. 1, raising the annual minimum for overtime-exempt, salaried employees. This change to the federal overtime rules means that employers must choose between paying salaried workers overtime or making sure they don’t work beyond 40 hours a week.
