Eligibility Requirements:

Business is located on Gravois Road between Musick Road & St. Louis City limits. Project is improvements to the exterior of the building and/or landscape. GET INVOLVED! Make the most of your Chamber Membership and volunteer for a planning committee...we need your help! AFFTON COMMUNITY DAYS September 2017 Community parade through Affton and one-day festival for businesses and organizations to increase exposure while showing community support. Committee meets February-October to plan and stage the event including securing funding through sponsorships and coordinating volunteers. AFFTON COMMUNITY & BUSINESS EXPO Wednesday, April 12, 2017 Afternoon exhibition where companies and organizations showcase and demonstrate their latest products and services. Committee meets January-May to plan and stage event including securing vendors and coordinating volunteers. AMBASSADORS Every Month on Wednesday before Membership Meeting @ 10 am Ambassadors are official representatives of the Affton Chamber that serve as volunteers on the “front-line” of our meetings & events. Help educate prospective members & guests, welcome new members, and facilitate networking. Committee meets once per month and attends Affton Chamber events (meetings, ribbon cuttings, social hours, etc.) ANNUAL AUCTION & DINNER AUCTION GALA Saturday, January 21, 2017 Evening gala where Business Person of the Year, Citizen of the Year, First Responder of the Year, Exceptional Educators, and Beautification Awards are honored for the previous year. The community is invited to this fundraiser. Committee meets August-January to plan and stage the event including soliciting for auction donations, sponsorship, and attendees. BARBECUE Saturday, May 13, 2017 Carry out barbecue fundraiser. Committee meets February-May to plan and stage event, including ticket mailing to members and coordinating volunteers to cook, fill orders, and set-up & breakdown. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT Monthly on 3rd Wednesday @ 9 am Members working closely with legislators & government officials to improve Affton. GOLF TOURNAMENT Tuesday, June 13, 2017 Opportunity for business leaders (members & non-members) to network & connect with other area leaders while golfing. Includes lunch, dinner, drinks & prizes. Committee meets February-August to plan and stage event including soliciting for sponsorships, prize donations, and golfers; and coordinating volunteers. TRIVIA NIGHT October 2017 Members, their employees, and residents test their knowledge at this fun & competitive event. Committee meets June-November to plan and stage event including soliciting for sponsorships, attendees, and prize donations; and coordinating volunteers. LEGISLATIVE/EDUCATION Providing an opportunity for members to connect with legislators and increase their knowledge. Committee arranges & attends “Brown Bag Lunches” with legislators and “Lunch & Learns” with speakers of interest. COMMUNITY DIRECTORY Biennial publication of Affton information and membership listings. Committee solicits membership for advertising and coordinates delivery of directories to member establishments.

Best Wishes to Chief Jim Fritz! Chief Jim Fritz is retiring from the Affton Fire Protection District on December 31, 2016. He began as a volunteer firefighter for the Affton Fire Protection District in 1990. He then became a paid firefighter with the district in 1996, was promoted to assistant chief in 2005, and to fire chief in 2009. Chief Fritz joined the Affton Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors in 2012. He has been a great supporter of our events and chaired the Legislative Committee, which organized the Brown Bag Lunches and Lunch & Learns. Chief Jim Fritz

We will miss him greatly and wish him the best in his retirement!

The Syberg Family has been named the 2016 Philanthropist of the Year by the Gateway Pet Guardians. SSM Health St. Clare Hospital is the latest to be designated a Level 1 Time Critical Diagnosis Stroke Center by the MO Dept. of Health and Senior Services, making St. Clare 1 of only 12 Level 1 centers in the state and 1 of 6 in St. Louis. The Level 1 designation recognizes their team of experts for assessing and treating the most complex stroke patients.

For the first time in school history, the Lutheran High School South Lady Lancers volleyball team brought home a state championship. Lutheran High School South boys soccer finished in third place at the Class 2 State Soccer Tournament.

Lindbergh High School tennis coach Brandon Murray was recently named the High School Coach of the Year by the US Tennis Association St. Louis District. He led the team to a 3rd Place finish at state in 2016. Lindbergh High School’s Spirit of St. Louis Marching Band has been selected to play in the 2018 Tournament of Roses Parade.
