Universal American School Dubai Yearbook of 2025 - 2026
H.H. SHEIKH MOHAMMED BIN ZAYED AL NAHYAN President of the UAE Giving priority to the family and the community lies at the heart of the United Arab Emirates’ comprehensive development strategy and its vision for the future. Accordingly, the establishment of the “Ministry of Family” and the renaming of the “Ministry of Community Development” to the “Ministry of Community Empowerment,” along with the strengthening of its role and responsibilities, reflect this commitment. We also announced 2025 as the “Year of Community,” and, God willing, 2026 will be the “Year of Family.” This is because we firmly believe that a stable family and a cohesive society form the foundation of a prosperous nation capable of facing challenges, seizing opportunities, and moving forward with strength and confidence. In this context, enhancing the role of the family, supporting its growth and empowerment, and increasing fertility rates in the country represent a national priority and lie at the core of comprehensive national security. The future of the nation begins with the family; it is the first and most important school in a person’s life, one of the most vital institutions of socialization, and the first line of defense against any negative ideas or trends that contradict our values, traditions, and culture.
H.H. SHEIKH MOHAMMED BIN RASHID AL MAKTOUM Ruler of Dubai and Vice President of the UAE and Prime Minister. Empowering the family, enhancing its quality of life, and strengthening its stability are priorities that precede all others across the agendas and programs of the Government of the United Arab Emirates. We are a nation distinguished by openness, bridges of cooperation with the world, and leadership in embracing future-oriented directions. Our goal is to reinforce this approach while preserving the values and traditions of the family, and to strengthen a national identity capable of engaging with global changes and developments while remaining firmly rooted in its authenticity.
Al-Futtaim Education Foundation (AFEF) was launched by the Al-Futtaim Family, operating as a not-for-profit initiative with the aim of making a meaningful impact on the education sector in the UAE, the region, and beyond. CHAIRMAN

UAS LEARNER PROFILE
THE UNIVERSAL VISION FOREVER DRIVEN BY KNOWLEDGE, INSPIRED BY SUCCESS
THE UNIVERSAL MISSION TO NURTURE AN INTERNATIONALLY MINDED COMMUNITY OF INTEGRITY AND ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
THE UNIVERSAL VALUES RESPECT - INTEGRITY - COLLABORATION EXCELLENCE
The Universal Vision, Mission, and Values serve as the guiding principles that shape our community and aspirations. Forever driven by knowledge and inspired by success, we are committed to nurturing an internationally minded community that upholds integrity and academic excellence. Our core values— Respect, Integrity, Collaboration, and Excellence— define our culture and drive us toward a future of continuous growth and achievement.
Dear Parents, Students, and Members of the UAS Community, As we reach the end of this academic year, I find myself reflecting not only on the journey of the past months, but on a far broader milestone for our school. This year marks 20 years since Universal American School first opened its doors, a significant moment that invites both celebration and reflection. Over the past two decades, UAS has grown into a vibrant, inclusive, and ambitious learning community. What has remained constant throughout that time is the strength of our people, our students, staff, and families, who continue to shape the character, culture, and success of the school. This anniversary is not simply about the passage of time, but about the collective contribution of everyone who has been part of this journey. This year, however, has also reminded us of the importance of resilience. The wider global and regional challenges, including conflict and uncertainty, have inevitably touched our community in different ways. At times, these challenges have impacted the rhythm of school life and the continuity of learning. Yet, in those moments, what has stood out most clearly has been the strength, adaptability, and care shown across our community. Our students have demonstrated maturity and perseverance. Our staff have continued to provide stability, support, and high-quality learning experiences under evolving circumstances. And our families have shown understanding, trust, and partnership as we have navigated these complexities together.
It is in these moments that the true identity of a school is revealed, not just in its facilities or programs, but in how it comes together in times of challenge. I am incredibly proud of how the UAS community has responded, supporting one another and ensuring that learning, wellbeing, and connection remain at the heart of all that we do. It is in these moments that the true identity of a school is revealed, not just in its facilities or programs, but in how it comes together in times of challenge. I am incredibly proud of how the UAS community has responded, supporting one another and ensuring that learning, wellbeing, and connection remain at the heart of all that we do. Alongside this, the year has continued to be filled with achievement and growth. From the classroom to the stage, from the sports field to service initiatives, our students have continued to embrace opportunities and create lasting memories. This yearbook captures just a glimpse of those experiences, moments that reflect both our daily life and our shared journey. As we celebrate 20 years of UAS, we also look forward. The next chapter of the school will continue to build on this strong foundation, guided by our commitment to excellence, community, and the development of confident, capable young people ready to make a difference in the world. To our staff, thank you for your unwavering dedication and professionalism. To our parents, thank you for your continued trust and partnership. And to our students, thank you for bringing energy, purpose, and spirit to our school each and every day. For those members of our community who are moving on, we wish you every success in your next steps and hope you carry the values and memories of UAS with you. You will always remain part of our story. On behalf of the leadership team, the Board of Governors, and our wider school community, I wish you a safe, restful, and enjoyable summer. We look forward to welcoming you back as we continue our journey together. Warm regards, Kevin Loft School Director
As we celebrate another year at UAS and mark our 20th anniversary, I find myself reflecting on a year that has been filled with both achievements and challenges. At times, the events happening around us reminded us that the world can be uncertain. Yet throughout it all, our students continued to demonstrate resilience, compassion, determination, and an unwavering commitment to one another. These qualities define our community far more than any challenge ever could. This year has been filled with academic success, artistic performances, sporting achievements, service projects, friendships, laughter, and memories that will last a lifetime. Whether you are moving on to a new chapter or returning to continue your journey at UAS, I hope you look back on this year with pride. Thank you for the energy, kindness, and spirit you bring to our school every day. You are the reason UAS continues to be such a special place. As we turn the page on another school year, remember that your character, perseverance, and care for others will always matter more than any grade, award, or accolade. Congratulations on a successful year, and thank you for being part of the UAS story.
Philip Berry Secondary Principal
This year has been filled with learning, growth, challenges, achievements, and countless memories that have shaped our UAS community. It has also been a particularly special year as we celebrated 20 years of Universal American School—a milestone that reminds us of the many students, families, and staff who have contributed to our story. As we look back on the year, I hope you feel proud of all that you have accomplished. Some of your greatest successes may be the things that never appeared on a report card—the friendships you built, the kindness you showed, the risks you took, and the resilience you demonstrated when things became difficult.
As part of the UAS community, you are now part of a legacy that spans two decades and continues to grow with each new generation of learners. Thank you for the energy, enthusiasm, and positivity you bring to our school each day. Enjoy a well-deserved summer, make wonderful memories with family and friends, and continue to dream big, work hard, and embrace every opportunity that comes your way. Lauren Malin Elementry Principal
This year has been especially meaningful as we celebrate 20 years of learning, growth, and community at our school. From the creativity and dedication showcased during the Grade 5 PYP Exhibition to the energy of Sports Day and the vibrant celebrations of International Day, to name a few, our students have truly made this year memorable. Each day, our learners inspire us through their curiosity, kindness, and determination, reminding us of the strength of our school community. We are proud of all we have achieved together and remain committed to supporting every student as they grow with confidence, compassion, and a love of learning. Thank you for being part of our journey. The Assistant Principals

To our Middle School students, this year has been defined by your resilience, growth, and determination, and we are incredibly proud of all that you have accomplished. Your commitment during periods of online learning was truly commendable, as you stayed engaged, responsible, and connected even when it was not easy. Beyond the classroom, your enthusiasm and school spirit shone through your participation in Sports Day and House events, where you demonstrated teamwork, pride, and a strong sense of community. At the same time, you continued to push yourselves academically and through your extracurricular and athletic pursuits, striving for personal excellence and supporting one another along the way. You have set a powerful example of what it means to be dedicated, balanced, and driven learners, and we look forward to seeing all that you will continue to achieve. To the Class of 2026, Well, you've finally done it. Your time at UAS has come to an end. There will be fewer debates about lanyards, fewer crowded bathrooms, and fewer explanations of why teachers "don't understand what students are going through"—usually starting with, "Wallah, sir..." But while school may be quieter, it won't be the same. As you move on, remember that your success won't simply be measured by grades, universities, or careers. It will be measured by the friendships you keep, the way you treat people, and the choices you make when nobody is watching. Be the people we know you can be—kind, honest, resilient, and willing to make a positive difference wherever life takes you. The friendships you've built here are among the most important things you'll take away from UAS. Look after them. Stay connected. The years ahead will move faster than you think. Know that UAS will always be a place where you are welcome, and I will always be happy to hear how life is treating you. Although, at the time of writing this, some of you have already returned to the building, so I'm not sure I'll have to wait very long after all. Good luck, Class of 2026. We are proud of you, we will miss you, and we can't wait to see what comes next.
Matthew Lowe High School Assistant Principal
To Our High School Students, As we close another school year, I want to take a moment to congratulate each of you on all that you have achieved. This year has brought moments of celebration, challenge, change, and growth, and through it all, you have continued to show resilience, kindness, humour, and determination. Whether you are completing your first year of high school or preparing to graduate next year, I hope you are proud of the part you have played in our school community. The friendships you have built, the lessons you have learned, and the experiences you have shared all form an important part of your journey. To our Grade 12 students, congratulations on reaching this special milestone. We are proud of you and excited to see where life takes you next. To our Grades 9, 10, and 11 students, continue to make the most of every opportunity, support one another, and enjoy the journey ahead. Thank you for the energy, spirit, and heart you bring to UAS. I wish you all a wonderful summer and every success in the year ahead. Tracey Cummins High School Assistant Principal

Dear Super Second Graders, Wow! What a year it has been! I can hardly believe how much you’ve grown—not just in height, but in kindness, confidence, curiosity, courage, and resilience. This year was not always easy. We switched between online and onsite learning, adjusted to changes, and faced a lot of unknowns. But through it all, you kept trying, kept smiling, and showed just how strong and determined you are. You came into second grade with big dreams, wiggly teeth, and maybe a little nervous energy… and now you are leaving as readers, writers, math whizzes, scientists, problem-solvers, and brave thinkers who know how to work hard and never give up. We have laughed, learned, and shared so many moments I will never forget—from our adventures with Kit Kaos, to the endless searches for lost stationery, your creative ideas, and the way you cheered each other on. You should be so proud of everything you have accomplished this year. I know I sure am. Watching you grow, adapt, and shine has been one of the greatest joys of my job.
As you head off to third grade, remember this: You are smart. You are strong. You are resilient. You are ready. Keep being your awesome, one-of-a-kind self. Grade 3 won’t know what hit it! Have a fun, restful, and well-earned summer—you’ve earned it, superstars! With so much pride and a big high five, Ms. Nicole

Dear 3EC, What a special year it has been! As we come to the end of Grade 3, I want you all to know how proud I am of each and every one of you. This year brought a big change as you started the year with one teacher and finished it with another, but you handled it with resilience, maturity, and kindness. You welcomed me into your classroom, adapted so quickly, and continued to give me your best every day. Throughout the year, I have loved watching you grow as learners and as people. Whether we were learning about children's rights, exploring cities, researching important topics, investigating animal adaptations, or tackling tricky math concepts, you always approached your learning with curiosity and determination. Seeing your confidence grow has been one of my favorite parts of the year. I will definitely miss our story times, even if I had to listen to a million predictions and questions every day that somehow led us to a never-ending conclusion! I will also miss our morning chats during attendance. No matter what kind of day we were having, we always managed to find something to laugh about. Thank you for bringing so much joy, laughter, and personality into our classroom every day! As you head off to Grade 4, remember to always be kind. A smile, a hello, or a small act of kindness can make a bigger difference than you realize. Thank you for making this year so memorable and for all the wonderful memories we've shared together. Have an amazing summer, and don't forget to come and say hi! Proud of you always, Ms. Emma

DEAR LOVELY STUDENTS, THIS YEAR HAS BEEN AN AMAZING YEAR! FROM THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL, YOU HAVE GROWN AS LEARNERS, FRIENDS, AND PROBLEM-SOLVERS. EVEN WHEN THINGS GOT TOUGH, YOU LEARNED TO ALWAYS FOCUS ON THE POSITIVES AND BELIEVE IN YOURSELVES! YOU HAVE WORKED SO HARD IN ALL YOUR SUBJECTS BY EMBRACING THE STRUGGLE AND NEVER GIVING UP! I HOPE YOU REMEMBER TO ALWAYS BELIEVE IN YOURSELVES, AND THAT WHEN YOU DO, YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH ANYTHING! WE SHARED SO MANY SPECIAL MEMORIES TOGETHER IN 3CM: FIELD TRIPS, HOUSE COMPETITIONS, END OF UNIT PROJECTS, READ-ALOUDS (THE BOY AT THE BACK OF THE CLASS, WONDER, MALALA), AND OF COURSE RECESS! OUR CLASS WAS SPECIAL BECAUSE WE ALL CARED FOR AND SUPPORTED ONE ANOTHER, SPREADING OUR KINDNESS. WE ENJOYED OUR CIRCLE TIME EXPRESSING OUR FEELINGS AND OF COURSE… COMPLIMENT FRIDAYS! THIS YEAR HAS BEEN FILLED WITH SMILES, LAUGHTER, DISCOVERY, AND MANY PROUD MOMENTS. I AM SO PROUD OF EVERYTHING YOU HAVE ACCOMPLISHED, AND I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE ALL THE WONDERFUL THINGS YOU WILL DO NEXT! I HOPE YOU HAVE AN INCREDIBLE SUMMER BREAK ENJOYING YOUR FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND ALL THE THINGS THAT MAKE YOU HAPPY! SENDING YOU OFF WITH WARM WISHES, POSITIVE VIBES, AND LOTS OF KNOWLEDGE! LOVE, MS. CLAIRE PS: NEVER FORGET WHAT MR. TUSHMAN SAID: “ALWAYS BE A LITTLE KINDER THAN IS NECESSARY.”

The IB Art Exhibition provided a remarkable platform for our students to showcase their creativity and reflect on their artistic and intellectual journeys. Serving as the culmination of years of research, experimentation, and artistic development, the exhibition offered visitors an opportunity to engage with inspiring stories communicated through the language of art, highlighting the role of creativity in fostering selfexpression, critical thinking, and personal growth.

More than an art project, this initiative encouraged creativity, higher-order thinking, and meaningful reflection, inspiring students to apply the timeless values of the Seerah to their own character and everyday decisions.
I had the privilege of playing the role of Annie, and it was an unforgettable experience. Through Annie’s journey as a hopeful orphan girl, I learned the importance of courage, kindness, and never giving up, even during difficult times. Bringing this inspiring character to life helped me grow in confidence, express my emotions on stage, and connect with the audience. Working alongside my classmates also taught me the true value of teamwork, dedication, and supporting one another to create a memorable performance.During the performance, we felt great excitement as we presented scenes filled with singing and movement, conveying the message of hope and optimism that Annie carries. The audience’s interaction was a wonderful source of motivation and boosted our confidence.

TThis year was certainly eventful, filled with challenges, new experiences, and plenty of opportunities to grow. Through it all, you rose to the occasion with resilience, determination, and a willingness to learn. Whether you were in the classroom or logging in from home for weeks, you showed up each morning ready to learn, adapting quickly to a different way of learning and making the very best of it. Your commitment to improving and supporting one another never wavered, and the progress you have made should make you proud. One of the loveliest parts of this year has been watching the way you welcomed new classmates into our community, making them feel included from the very beginning. You also showed great maturity as you said goodbye to friends who moved away, cherishing the memories you made together while wishing them well. Throughout the year, your kindness and respect towards your teachers never went unnoticed, and the small acts of thoughtfulness you showed each day made our classrooms happier places to be. It has been a pleasure to watch you grow this year, not just academically, but as caring, thoughtful, and resilient young people. I hope you carry that same positive attitude, confidence, and kindness into whatever comes next. Keep believing in yourselves, continue looking out for one another, and embrace every new opportunity that comes your way. Well done, Grade 7!

GRADE
8
Leigh Howarth Grade 8 Level Leader
As we look back on this school year, it is hard not to feel incredibly proud of everything our Grade 8 students have achieved together. This has been a year of growth, maturity, and memorable moments. As the senior students of Middle School, our Grade 8s have led by example. They have embraced challenges, supported one another, and demonstrated what it means to be positive role models within our school community. Academically, this group has continued to impress, setting high benchmarks in MAP testing and showing a commitment to learning that should make them very proud. Their determination to improve and push themselves has been evident throughout the year. One of the highlights of the year was our Sports Day. The energy, enthusiasm, and participation shown by every student created an atmosphere that will be remembered for years to come. Whether competing, supporting teammates, or celebrating each other's successes, the spirit of the Grade 8 cohort was on full display. What makes this year group truly special, however, is the strength of its community. This is a group that looks out for one another, celebrates successes together, and contributes positively to school life. They have built one of the strongest and most connected communities in our school, and that is something that cannot be measured by grades or awards alone. As you prepare to take the next step into High School, know that you leave Middle School having made a lasting impact. We are excited to see what you will achieve in the years ahead and have no doubt that each of you will continue to grow, succeed, and make us proud. On behalf of all your teachers, thank you for a fantastic year. We wish you every success and happiness as you begin this exciting new chapter. Best of luck, Grade 8, Keep going! Warm regards, Leigh Howarth

ENGLISH
At UAS, Middle School English is where stories, characters, and ideas come alive. Whether students are reading novels, writing short stories, or presenting speeches, they’re learning how to explore the world through language. English class becomes a place where imagination meets structure—and where every student learns to find their voice. Through engaging discussions, grammar games, and creative assignments, students not only improve their writing and reading skills, but also grow in confidence. Middle school English lays the groundwork for effective communication and helps students become thoughtful, articulate learners who are ready for anything.
MATH
Math in middle school at UAS is all about building a strong foundation while making it fun. Through group work, problem-solving activities, and hands-on projects, students begin to see math as a valuable life tool. Whether they’re working with fractions, algebra, or statistics, they learn that math is not just about numbers—it’s about logic, thinking, and patterns. Teachers create an environment where questions are encouraged, and mistakes are part of the journey. Every student is supported at their level, making sure they’re confident moving forward. By the time they reach high school, they don’t just know math—they understand how to use it.
SCIENCE
Middle school science at UAS is where curiosity gets its spark. Students explore biology, earth science, chemistry, and physics in hands-on, interactive ways. Whether it’s growing plants, simulating volcanoes, or conducting experiments, learning is always active and engaging. Through inquiry-based learning and discovery, students begin to understand how the world works—and why it matters. They build observation and reasoning skills that prepare them for more advanced science and give them the confidence to ask questions and seek answers.
SOCIAL STUDIES
Middle school humanities at UAS gives students a global perspective from a young age. Through engaging history units, geography lessons, and current events, students learn how human societies evolve and how cultures shape the world we live in. They connect past to present and build a foundation for understanding global citizenship. Discussions, projects, and simulations bring the content to life. Students explore topics like ancient civilizations, world religions, and modern-day challenges in a way that sparks curiosity and empathy. It’s about learning the "why" behind the facts—and how we can all make a difference.
CREATIVES
Middle school creatives at UAS give students the chance to explore and express who they are. In art, music, and drama, they learn the basics of technique while experimenting with their own styles. Whether painting, playing instruments, or performing skits, creativity is always encouraged. These subjects help students grow in confidence, collaboration, and selfexpression. They learn to take risks, share ideas, and celebrate different perspectives—all while having fun and discovering new passions. Through these experiences, students often find a sense of community and belonging, as they connect with others who share similar interests and aspirations. Teachers at UAS support and guide students in their artistic journeys, offering constructive feedback and inspiring them to push the boundaries of their imaginations. As a result, students not only develop their artistic skills but also gain valuable life skills, such as resilience and perseverance. The creative programs at UAS are designed to nurture young talents and prepare them for future challenges, encouraging them to carry their creative spirit into all aspects of their lives.
LANGUAGES
Middle school language classes at UAS introduce students to the excitement of learning a new language and culture. Whether it’s French or Spanish, students start with the basics—greetings, vocabulary, and simple conversations—but quickly build the confidence to speak and understand in real-world situations. The focus is on interaction, fun activities, and meaningful use of language. Through games, role plays, and cultural projects, students not only learn grammar and structure— they learn about the people, traditions, and global importance of the language. It’s about sparking curiosity and laying the foundation for multilingual communication in today’s world.
ISLAMIC اﻟﺪراﺳﺎت اﻟٍﺎﺳﻠﺎﻣﯿﺔ Middle school Islamic Studies students actively engage in discussing contemporary issues through collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving activities. Julien Ireson-Valois Grade 9 Level Leader
Dear Class of 2029, Congratulations! You made it through your first year of high school and have represented yourselves very well. Since day one, you have shown our community how passionate you are about learning, made positive choices, and demonstrated how to do it all with kindness and personality. Here are some of my favourite things about you: Diversity - So many of you come from different places and cultures, and together these differences form a colourful and beautiful tapestry. This is our great strength: when we learn to listen to other points of view and appreciate our differences, our minds grow wide open, and our group becomes more resilient to lower forms of thinking. Empathy - You’ve entered high school with a strong sense of knowing right from wrong and what it means to feel compassion for others, but we still have work to do. New students will continue to join us, and we owe it to them to reach out and make them feel welcomed. This not only helps others; it also shows the true value of who you are. Keep being kind to others and you will get it given back to you. Visionary: Many of you are looking well beyond your next major, the end of the semester, or the courses you want to register for next year. You are already considering the diplomas you want to study, researching the universities of your dreams, and asking your teachers and counselors the right questions about how to get there. Stay curious and envision your future; it’s not far away. Smiles: School is difficult and at times destabilizing. Some of you will continue to feel academic, social and emotional ups and downs over the next years; this is normal and will continue well after UAS. Still, every morning when you step off the bus and make your way from your lockers to your homerooms, manifest how your day will be. So many of you choose to face a new school day with a smile and understand how powerful this can be. In finishing Grade 9, you have completed an important first step on your journey. Moving forward to Grade 10, the stakes and expectations will get higher. You are no longer freshmen or newbies; you will now have to prove yourself in different ways. Nurture your good habits, say goodbye to the bad ones. Try new passions, develop responsibility, and be there for others when needed. Stay open and committed to learning new things, gathering advice, and elevating yourselves. Congratulations on all your successes, and I look forward to supporting you during your next chapter. All the best, Mr. Julien

GRADE
10
Maysa Malaeb Grade 10 Level Leader
The Grade 10 students have had an exceptional year defined by growth, purpose, and achievement. As their Grade Leader since Grade 8, I have had the privilege of witnessing their journey from middle school into high school, watching them develop into confident, resilient, and thoughtful young people with an increasing sense of self, purpose, and ambition. This year, their exploration of pathways has been particularly inspiring. Through reflection, curiosity, and determination, students have begun to connect their strengths, interests, and aspirations with meaningful goals for the future. A highlight of the year was the remarkable work of the Kindness Crew, whose breast cancer awareness bake sale raised awareness for one of the most common cancers affecting women worldwide. Their initiative reflected the compassion, leadership, and commitment to service that have become hallmarks of this cohort and demonstrated the positive impact young people can have when they work together for a meaningful cause. What makes this group truly special is not only what they have achieved, but who they have become. Over the past three years, they have grown into young people of character who understand that success is measured not only by accomplishments, but also by integrity, empathy, and the contributions they make to others. As they prepare to enter Grade 11 and continue refining their pathways, they do so with confidence, purpose, and an increasingly clear vision for their future. I have every confidence that they will continue to embrace challenges, seize opportunities, and make meaningful contributions wherever their journeys take them. My advice to this outstanding group is simple: trust the process, remain open to new possibilities, and continue to believe in your ability to make a difference. The choices you make today will help shape your future, but it is your character, perseverance, and values that will ultimately define your success. As you move into Grade 11, remember that you are no longer simply preparing for the future, you are beginning to create it. “What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson

GRADE

Sofie Wardle Grade 11 Level Leader
As I write this, it is hard to believe that we are already reaching the end of Grade 11. For many of you, I have had the privilege of watching your journey for the past four years, beginning back in Grade 8 when both you and I were starting a new chapter at UAS. Over those years, I have seen you grow not only as students, but as young people. I have watched friendships form, confidence develop, challenges overcome, and personalities emerge. I have celebrated your successes, supported you through difficult moments, laughed with you, occasionally challenged you to be better versions of yourselves, and always wanted the very best for you. What makes this message different is that our journey together is not over yet. Whilst many yearbook messages are written as farewells, for us this is really the beginning of your final chapter. In a few short months, we will return as Grade 12, and I will once again have the privilege of supporting you as your Grade Leader during one of the most important and memorable years of your school lives. As we celebrate 20 years of UAS, you are preparing to become the school's senior students. The example you set next year will help shape the experience of those who follow behind you. You have the opportunity to leave a lasting legacy through your leadership, kindness, determination, and the way you support one another. My hope for each of you is that you make the most of every opportunity that Grade 12 brings. Challenge yourselves. Work hard. Support your friends. Make memories. Attend the events. Celebrate the milestones. Enjoy the journey. Before long, you will be walking across the graduation stage and wondering where the time went. Thank you for making the past four years so memorable. There have certainly been many "mumtaz" moments along the way, and I know there will be many more still to come next year. As we move into your final year together, remember to be fierce in chasing your goals, brave when facing challenges, and never afraid to be uniquely and unapologetically yourselves. The world does not need you to be like anyone else; it needs the talents, strengths, humour, kindness, and individuality that make you who you are. I am incredibly proud of how far you have come, and I cannot wait to see what we accomplish together in Grade 12. Ms. Wardle Grade 11 Leader

SUBJECTS
“The IB Diploma is a rigorous and demanding program which focuses on educating the whole student. As students navigate their 6 chosen subjects they are also engaged in intense critical thinking within Theory of Knowledge, learning life-long research skills in the Extended Essay, and maintaining a work life balance through their various CAS experiences. While each of these skills can be learned independent of each other, by blending them into the program, the IB has ensured students are fully prepared for life after high school. At UAS we enjoy seeing our students succeed in school and beyond.”
Hannah Dobson IB Coordinator
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) at Universal American School develops determined, adaptive, and caring learners who are prepared to thrive in an interconnected world. Through a rigorous curriculum, students are challenged to think conceptually, apply their learning to real-world contexts, and engage with global issues from multiple perspectives. This year, the Class of 2026 completed their Extended Essays, TOK Essays, Individual Orals, and mock examinations as they prepared for university. The Class of 2027 demonstrated resilience by adapting to online learning, completing their TOK Exhibitions, beginning their Extended Essays, and engaging in meaningful CAS experiences. Together, our students embody the IB Learner Profile, growing into knowledgeable, reflective, principled, and internationally minded young people.
"This year, students in the Advanced Placement program at Universal American School participated in fast-paced learning environments. Their AP classes have prepared them to learn content, sharpen skills, and take exams in the style of university classes.
Evan Woodson AP Coordinator
This experience has helped AP students broaden their knowledge, prepare for university, and strengthen their resumes for college applications. UAS is very proud of our AP students' hard work this year, and we are looking forward to adding even more AP course options next year."
The Advanced Placement program at UAS has grown and improved dramatically this year. Students have taken on the challenge of university-level classes with enthusiasm and resilience, including nine different AP course offerings and a variety of Self-Study opportunities. These courses concluded in May with AP exams, where UAS aimed to improve on our 70% pass rate from last academic year. Regardless of the outcome of our external assessments, the AP program at UAS has helped open doors to universities across the world.
ENGLISH
In High School English, students at UAS take their literacy and writing to the next level. From literary analysis and poetry to personal essays and research papers, the curriculum is designed to develop critical thinking, creativity, and clarity. Students don’t just read—they interpret, question, and challenge ideas. English becomes more than a subject—it’s a skill for life. With passionate teachers guiding the way, students learn how to write powerful arguments, analyze complex texts, and express themselves with purpose. These are skills they carry into college, careers, and beyond.
MATH
High school math at UAS is where everything comes together. From Algebra to Calculus, students dive deeper into mathematical reasoning, learning how to analyze, model, and solve real-world problems. Lessons go beyond formulas— they focus on why math matters and how it appears in daily life. With educators like Miss Jamal leading the way, students learn how to manage budgets, understand data, and make informed decisions. Whether they’re planning future careers in engineering, business, or design, they’re equipped with the math skills to succeed.
SCIENCE
In high school, science becomes more specialized—and more exciting. Students at UAS can explore Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Science, all taught with a focus on real-world application. Labs, fieldwork, and research projects help students go beyond the textbook and into the world of scientific exploration. Whether they’re studying genetics, balancing equations, or analyzing energy use, students learn to think like scientists. They’re taught to form hypotheses, collect data, and evaluate outcomes—skills that are essential for university and for tackling global challenges. In Earth Science, Miss Ebrahim taught us that understanding the planet isn't just about facts and figures—it’s about responsibility. Through labs, discussions, and projects, she showed us how climate change, pollution, and resource use directly affect our world and future. Her classes made environmental science feel real, not distant, and pushed us to think about our role in protecting the Earth. Whether we were studying renewable energy or the water cycle, Miss Ebrahim always connected the lessons back to everyday life. She encouraged us to be more mindful—recycle more, waste less, and speak up about sustainability. Thanks to her, we didn’t just learn about the environment—we learned how to care for it.
SOCIAL STUDIES
In high school, UAS Humanities dives deep into Human Geography, economics, history, and sociology. Students explore how people, power, and ideas shape societies, from ancient times to today. Through debates, essays, and independent research, they develop strong analytical and communication skills. Whether studying global conflicts or economic trends, students learn to think critically about the world and their place in it. Humanities at UAS empowers students to become informed, compassionate leaders who can engage with the world thoughtfully and with purpose.
CREATIVES
High school creatives at UAS are where expression meets excellence. Whether students are writing scripts, composing songs, building sets, or designing digital art, they are constantly challenged to push their creative boundaries. Projects are student-led, innovative, and often shared in school-wide showcases. These classes not only develop artistic talent, but also foster critical thinking, communication, and problemsolving. In a world that values creativity more than ever, UAS students are given the tools—and the space—to stand out.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION (PE)
Physical Education in high school at UAS encourages students to push beyond their limits and develop a healthy, active lifestyle. Through a variety of advanced athletic activities, fitness programs, and health-focused learning experiences, students strengthen their physical abilities while improving self-discipline, teamwork, and resilience. Whether participating in competitive sports, fitness training, or skillbased challenges, students continue to build confidence and determination. Beyond physical development, PE also strengthens school spirit and social connection. Tournaments, house competitions, and inter-school events provide students with opportunities to demonstrate leadership, collaborate with others, and proudly represent their school community. The program creates a positive environment where students can stay active, relieve stress, and create lasting memories with their peers.
LANGUAGE
High school language courses at UAS go beyond the basics and into full cultural immersion. Students deepen their vocabulary, refine their speaking and writing skills, and explore literature, film, and current events in their chosen language. The classes are interactive and discussion-based, encouraging students to think in the language, not just translate. From writing essays in French to debating in Spanish, students are constantly challenged to grow. By the end of high school, they’re not just language learners—they’re global communicators prepared to engage with different cultures confidently and respectfully in both academic and real-world settings.

UAS CHEERLEADING This year has been a challenging one, and y’all have met every obstacle with determination, resilience, and heart. While I take great pride in being a teacher, I have been a cheerleader for much longer, and it has been an honor to share this passion with each of you. Every time we take the floor—whether for a performance or a competition—we give it our all, bringing our energy, spirit, and sparkle, and leaving everything we have out on the mat. No matter the score or the placement, what matters most is the teamwork, growth, and dedication you have shown, and that is something to be incredibly proud of. Y’all are strong. Y’all are smart. Y’all are capable. Y’all are athletes. Y’all are Scorpions!

France
The school trip to the city of Paris was a wonderful and memorable experience. During the trip, we had the opportunity to visit several famous landmarks. We enjoyed seeing the Eiffel Tower and learning about its history, and we also visited the Louvre Museum, which houses many world-famous works of art. In addition, we visited the Perfume Museum, where we learned about the stages of making traditional French perfumes. One of the most enjoyable activities was preparing some French pastries, where we learned how they are made and enjoyed tasting them together. The charming winter atmosphere of Paris also added a special touch to the trip, with beautifully lit streets and a magical seasonal ambiance. This trip was a great opportunity to learn about a new culture, spend enjoyable time with classmates, and create unforgettable memories. Adriana Abou Jaoude
UK
Our trip to London, UK was an exciting and memorable experience. We visited several universities and explored their beautiful campuses while learning about student life. Being there with my school and friends made the trip even more enjoyable, as we shared fun moments and new experiences together. The visit inspired us and gave us a clearer idea about our future and the opportunities that await us. Mariam Adlouni
Japan
This years school trip to Japan combined cultural exploration with the enjoyment of nature’s beauty. Students had a wonderful time engaging in skiing activities on the slopes of Mount Fuji near Tokyo. It was an experience full of excitement and adventure, offering a great opportunity to strengthen teamwork, have fun, and create unforgettable memories with their classmates. Haya Diab
Bali
During our trip to Bali, we had an exciting mix of activities. On Day two, we helped clean up the beach in Kuta, then went surfing, which was perfect for both beginners and experienced surfers. Afterward, we explored Kuta’s shopping area, browsing local boutiques. On Day three, we visited Rumah Desa and Tanah Lot Temple, where we learned about farming activities like rice planting and harvesting. We also took a cooking class and made delicious Balinese food. In the afternoon, we visited Jatiluwih to see the beautiful rice terraces. Day four was all about animals and culture in Ubud. We visited the Monkey Forest, fed elephants at the Elephant Sanctuary Park, and enjoyed a cultural lesson with local artists. On Day five, we volunteered at Yayasan Widya Guna, a school for children with disabilities, and learned about traditional Balinese crafts like batik and wood carving. On the final day, we visited Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park before heading to the airport to fly back to Dubai.

Zambia
This year’s trip to Zambia was truly unforgettable. We spent some days working hard to build benches for the village school using ecobricks, and other days exploring and hiking near Victoria Falls. However, the most meaningful part of the experience was the time we shared with the students at the local school. Being able to meet, connect, and learn from the community was a real privilege and created memories that we will always cherish. Nai Foudeh ر
Umrah
UAS organized a trip to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah and visit the most significant historical and religious landmarks in the cities of Makkah and Madinah. A group of students with Mr. Ayman participated in the trip, which was marked by excellent organization and a spirit of cooperation. Participants visited the holy sites, performed Umrah at the Grand Mosque in Makkah, and visited the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah. The trip also included stops at important locations such as Mount Uhud, the Revelation Museum, Quba Mosque, and other notable landmarks that added a rich cultural and educational dimension to the experience. Everyone expressed their happiness with this meaningful journey, which combined spiritual and educational aspects, left a positive impact on the students, and instilled noble values through an unforgettable experience.
