Founded in 1985, the Aesthetics Institute is Oregon's oldest exclusively esthetics-focused school.
We offer vocational training that prepares students with the essential knowledge, technical skills, and professional standards necessary for state licensure and entry-level jobs in esthetics.
Education

Programs
The school currently offers two innovative programs in high-level skincare and is one of the few beauty schools in Oregon that provides both.
• The Masters Esthetics Program is our general esthetics course that requires no prior experience.
• The Advanced Esthetics Program is our higher-level course that requires a current Oregon esthetics license.
MastersEsthetics
Our general esthetics program. We teach nearly 70% more than what the state requires.
Immediate: Enhanced skin appearance through cleansing and hydration, temporary improvement in skin texture.
Long-term: May help maintain skin health and address minor issue like dryness or dullness, but results are often superficial and short-lived. Oregon permits more advanced services in basic esthetics, such as microdermabrasion and dermaplaning, which many states do not allow.

Involves more specialized procedures like body contouring, microneedling, and laser treatments
Immediate: Some procedures can lead to instant improvements, such as dermaplaning or microdermabrasion. However, the goal in Advanced Esthetics is more about long-term results. You will generally find that most clients “look worse before they look better.”
Long-Term: more significant changes include a reduction in fine lines, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and overall skin rejuvenation. Results may last longer and could require fewer maintenance sessions.

Dermaplaning is a mechanical exfoliation of the stratum corneum using a flat-edged scalpel.

• ”Skin scraping” (yikes!)
Microneedling
Demonstration
Microneedling is a non-surgical treatment that uses very fine, short, sterile needles to create tiny punctures in the skin, prompting the skin's natural wound-healing process, which leads to the production of new, healthy collagen.
