Happy New Year! We are off and running with a lot of new and exciting projects for 2019! The Aerotropolis Atlanta Alliance team has positioned itself to stay steadfast in its efforts to make South Atlanta the premier destination for site developers, business owners, and community leaders united in our commitment to making Aertoropolis Atlanta a world-class destination for business, connectivity, and living. We understand that it is important to lead the charge in revitalizing the Aertotropolis economically. Our allegiance to this charge is coupled with our partnership with the Aerotropolis CIDs where, collectively, we will improve our communities by fostering job opportunities and supporting our school systems throughout the area. We are humbled by the continuous support of our members who bring tremendous value and offer credibility to our plight. This year, more than ever before, Aerotropolis Atlanta will become the preeminent location for economic investment in the southeastern U.S., leveraging its proximity to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) through strategic development and expansion of targeted industries intended to enhance the area’s quality of life.

SMALL BUSINESS OF THE YEAR The Aerotropolis Atlanta Alliance in Partnership with South Fulton Chamber Of Commerce were very proud to announce THIS IS IT BBQ & SEAFOOD as our inaugural Small Business Of The Year Winner in 2018. They exemplify everything we’ve looked for in a Small Business Of The Month, which consist of operating in our top 5 industries, being great community partners, providing local jobs and creating a pipeline for new leadership. We consider THIS IS IT as a crown jewel in The Aerotropolis and hope the Small Business Of The Year honor continues to solidify their impact to our region.

NEW MEMBERS We are proud to announce PORSCHE CARS NORTH AMERICA, Inc, under the leadership of our Chairman Emeritus Mr. Joe Folz, have increased their annual membership to the new LEGACY MEMBERSHIP LEVEL ($25K). This is huge testimony of Porsche’s commitment to our success and the leadership of our great Chairman Emeritus. Thank you Joe!!!
We are also excited to have the CITY OF JONESBORO as a new CHAMPION MEMBER, where Mayor Joy Day serves as their leader. The City of Jonesboro is making incredible strides to make the community great! One of their highlighted initiatives is Broad Street Plaza. This is the first connection between Jonesboro’s Main Street and Lee Street Park, geared to stimulate new activity in the downtown core and serve as a linchpin in the revitalization of the entire block between Broad Street and Riley Way. The City has been busy working with TSW (Architects), the Hogan Group (General Contractor), 4PM (Consulting Firm) and Good Food & Co. (Firehouse Operator) on finalizing construction/design documents. The revitalization project at the Jonesboro Firehouse Museum will bring food and beverages, with additional aspects of socializing and entertainment. The goal is to reestablish Broad Street’s original identity as a day-and night-time destination offering dining and entertainment at the rear of the commercial buildings along Main Street. Weekdays and weekends, attendees can expect to enjoy family and friends, mouth-watering beverages, listen to great music, and meet and greet associates and business colleagues. Residents and visitors will come to identify this revitalization project as the anchor to our future economic success. This project will consist of a breakfast & lunch restaurant menu, evening & nighttime dining, brew pub and locally produced beer, wine & spirits and “The Gathering Place – Home of NitroInfused Beverages & Coffee.” These experiences will be enjoyed while sitting and relaxing in the main dining room, or out on a beautiful interactive patio or green space porch. The City is excited to partner with Good Food & Company for this project, who has an extensive resume of good quality restaurants. Most recently one of the restaurants under the portfolio, “The Atlanta Breakfast Club,” was recognized by the Atlanta Journal Constitution as the best brunch spot in the state! Groundbreaking for the Broad Street Project is anticipated in early 2019. The CITY of STOCKBRIDGE and CONNECT SOUTH FULTON are also both new SUPPORTING MEMBERS.

Survey Says... Thank you for the great feedback regarding our 2018 SOTA luncheon. While you shared that we did a lot of things right, we understand there is more work to do and we look forward to continuing to improve our efforts to make it even better in 2019.
