As we approach Thanksgiving, we can’t help but reflect back on how incredible of a semester it has been here at Sigma! We have experienced somewhat of a return to normalcy with weekly in-person chapter gatherings, philanthropy events back into full swing, and an exciting social calendar. There is something special about how much more appreciation we have for each opportunity we have to spend time united as one. The Recruitment team poured their hearts and souls into the first in-person recruitment period in two years! Sigma welcomed 86 new members to our tight-knit chapter who have each brought something unique to our community. Today marks the kick-off of our Big-Little week and PC '20 has been putting gifts together for their littles complete with clues as they anticipate reveal this

Along with the Executive Board, the Recruitment Team planned fun events to get members excited while they learned the ins and outs of recruitment! Some highlights were an ice cream truck event and a donut truck PR event complete with hats made by Sigma's very own Lily Hochfelder (PC'18)!

"This Charcuterie-making workshop was a special event for the seniors during our work week as we prepared for recruitment. The seniors spoke with Therese Markel, business owner of Tricky Foods, and learned all about how she started her business and grew her expertise! SISTERHOOD
Molly Levinson (PC' 20), Brooke Wilczewski (PC' 18), and Jocelyn Weiss (PC' 19) pose in their white dresses and pins of pearls before our Preference rounds! This was the last round of recruitment where Potential New Members were able to watch our traditional Preference ceremony complete with Domino's lava cakes and "White Houses" performances by the seniors.
Thank you so much to our Recruitment chairs Sam Zakow and Lindsey Pollack (PC' 19) and the rest of the recruitment team for such an amazing recruitment period!! Thanks to all of your hard work, recruitment went smoothly and we were able to welcome so many wonderful girls to our chapter!
19AEPHI Welcome home PC '21!!!
New Member Educators Sam Weitz and Jamie Musoff (PC' 19) worked incredibly hard with the help of their assistants Lila Tuman and Bella Ferraro (PC'20) to organize an amazing Bid Day event inspired by the trends of 1985!! AEPhi can not thank the four of these ladies enough! PC' 21 was welcomed with open arms and PC'18 performed White Houses for everyone one last time as we celebrated the end of a successful recruitment period.

Our Parents Chair Sammy Leib (PC' 19) organized a special weekend for Sigma families to enjoy! Highlights included Friday after class at the KK, the Badger game, and a delicious Gotham Bagels spread for Sunday brunch!! Thank you so much for all of your hard work and dedication, Sammy! It was so wonderful to see everyone's families:)
SAFE ATWEEK HOME P NK TheThis Phouse has been adapting to UW's Covid procedures so girls living October, AEPhi hosted our annual Pink Week jam-packed with in canevents have the best and most safe including experience fundraising to benefit Sharsheret anpossible! Instagram Bingo Board, a Kamps class, a Tags Fundraiser, and arguably everyone's favorite event, puppies at the Phouse!!
Pink week was such a success! We had a week of fun events, including a virtual Jewelerry trunk show, Mactaggerts fundraiser, Kamps class and our chapter's favorite event, puppies at the house! Thank you to everyone who donated on our Crowd Change page and participated in these events! All proceeds are directly donated to Sharsheret, an amazing organization that helps women and families suffering from Breast and Ovarian Cancer. This is a cause that is extremely important to our chapter and we appreciate all of your support!! -VP Philanthropy Karyn Handler (PC' 19) -
THE RESPITE CENTER Beneficiary of Humorology 2021-2022
This year’s fundraising efforts will benefit The Respite Center. The Respite Care Center works to provide a reliable support system to families as they offer trustworthy care while parents seek jobs, take mental health breaks, go to appointments, or find housing. In addition, the center helps families create an escape plan from a domestic abuser, as one of their goals is to prevent child abuse and neglect. By providing families with an opportunity to take a break, the center aims to destigmatize the need of parenting alone. The Center is a safe space for kids who have experienced trauma and offers professional support by trauma-informed trained staff. The Respite Center is also the sole provider for emergency child care in Dane County and serves all families free of charge.

The money raised by Humorology will help offer free meals to children and families, replace the current playground equipment and allow the center to stay open 24/7 to provide services at all times for families. Jillian Szachury, Dance "I’m Jillian and this is my third year participating in humo and my second year being a director, so you can definitely tell that I am passionate about this student org :) I have built lifelong friends in my casts, and have created memories with people that I never thought would have such an amazing impact on my life. Humo has also allowed me to dance again, which has been my passion ever since I was 6. In addition to this, this organization raises money for great causes, where all charities we raise money for are located right here in Madison. I along with the other directors would be more than appreciative if you could donate to our cast, where all proceeds go to the Respite Center, a homeless shelter located right here in Madison! Lily designs and creates accessories like handbags and hats based in her hometown of Miami, Florida where her items are sold in local boutiques. Lily has brought so much joy and brightness to AEPhi by designing custom trucker hats for members to wear to our Work Week PR event! Most recently, Lily created hats as favors for Guy's Weekend! "My mission and my goal is to Make Everyday Happy; this is the philosophy that helped me build my multi-faceted brand, LilyHockCreations. I am a rising senior at the University of WisconsinMadison, studying Consumer Behavior & Marketing Studies. I am an extremely passionate individual, driven by all things fashion, design, and art. Initiation We are looking forward to officially initiating PC'21 into our sisterhood at our traditional Initiation ceremony this November!
