The Students' Union gives you a warm welcome into our university. It is with great pleasure that the AEFCSH welcomes you to our college, a school for everyone, a school of struggle, a school of life and freedom. The reality you will face is one of contrasts. Whilst you will meet welcoming colleagues who know how to welcome you and want you here, you will be faced with a Faculty whose conditions are far from welcoming. Whilst your Students' Association will be more than willing to solve your problems and help you through the integration process, which can often be difficult, you will unfortunately encounter barriers and walls from the management and structures of higher education. Our student union is guided by an history of resistance and demands, in defence of the values of the April Revolution, the greatest event in the collective history of the Portuguese people, of which we are celebrating 50 years this year. This defence flows naturally into the defence of Public Higher Education, accessible to all; Free, so that no one is left behind; Democratic, because students have a voice; Quality, because students, both Portuguese and international, and the country deserve it. We can give you one guarantee - you will experience months of great excitement, "luta" and fun. You will always be able to count on your Students' Union for everything you need. Have a good semester!
