The NOVA FCSH Student Association (AEFCSH) has created the “International Buddy Program” to help our international students adjust to FCSH and get the best experience possible in our university!

Our students volunteer to help international students and we pair them with you: our choices are based on common courses and languages so that you can get the best possible help!

Suburban Trains: These trains connect Lisbon to the surrounding suburbs You can use them to get to Cascais, Sintra or the South Side. To get to the Berna campus get off at Entrecampos station.

To use the public transport system in Lisbon you will need to get the Navegante Card. This will allow you to use all the different public transport options (except for GIRA).

Using the student discount it costs 22,5€/month just for the city of Lisbon. For 30€/month you can use it in the entire metropolitan area of Lisbon (suburbs and surrounding cities). Because we are the sweetest, go to the next page where we teach you how to get this discount.

This is the bus company that operates in the city of Lisbon. To get to the Berna campus get the 716, 726 or 756 line. To get to the Campolide campus get the 701, 771 or 758 line.

GIRA e-bikes: A great way to get around the city is using the GIRA ebikes. The annual pass costs 25€ and there are stations near both campuses..

Moovit App: This app will tell you the easiest/fastest way to get to your destination using public transportation in real time. You can also use Google Maps for this although it is not as accurate.

The fastest way to get around Lisbon in most cases

The Lisbon Metro operates every day, including weekends, from 6:30 a.m to 1:00 a.m (time of departure of the last train from the terminal stations of each line)

To get to the Berna campus get off at Campo Pequeno (yellow line), São Sebastião (red line) or Praça de Espanha (blue line).

To get to the Colégio Almada Negreiros campus (CAMPOLIDE) get off at São Sebastião or Praça de Espanha.

Lisbon’s Travel Pass, with student’s discount, costs 30€ per month and allows you to travel by train, tram, bus and subway.

To obtain the travel pass, first of all, you have to open Inforestudante, click in ‘Documents’ right under ‘Academic Services’ , make a new request, request Passe Sub23’ s Declaration and print it out. Then, go to the academic services on campus (Campus de Berna, Tower B, 1st Floor) and have it stamped.

After having your declaration printed and stamped, you need to bring it along with your identification and a small photo (you can take it in the station, on the appropriate machines) and fill out the blue form, also available in the station The stations you can go to are...
